  • Bike Year and Model
    08 RSV Black Cherry/Black
  1. Traded our 00 (Big Red) for an 08 Black Cherry over Black.
  2. "The chirp"... does anyone know of any problems caused from this? I do use synthetic oil and it hasn't helped. The noise in mine goes away at about 73mph. Just got back from Minnesota with it, 1152 miles over four days time. The bike ran great, we were loaded pretty heavy with "stuff" and 2 up the whole way and still got about 40 mpg. Is it always so darn windy in Minnesota?
  3. Samson slash cuts sound really good.
  4. My 00 RSV did the same thing last year. I took it to the dealer and they told me the same thing. This has obviously been a problem for a while .
  5. I have seen this video several times before and never get tired of it. We should always take the time to acknowledge our fine military, past and present.
  6. A fine looking group! Your family, friends, and country are proud you and what you do!!! Everyone stay safe, you will be in our prayers.
  7. I also have Samson slash cut slip-ons on my 2000 RSV. It sounds great and they were easy to put on. Evreyone has their own opinion. Good luck.
  8. Finally have the pics down loaded of Big Red with the new pipes!!!!
  9. I never did find a sound bite for the pipes you are talking about. Just from conversations and postings on here I came to the conclusion that the Barons were pretty loud. I put the Samson slash cuts on my 00 RSV last week and it sounds great!!!
  10. I just installed my Samson slip-ons...they look great and sound even better!!! The mufflers were easy to put on but...... those d**n saddle bags are a pain in the butt to remove!!!!!!!!!! The driver's side bag came off easy but the passanger side...well it never did come off. Bottom line is the job is done and the end result is great!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Besides the modified Road King mufflers, what is a good slip on for the RSV. I think I have it narrowed down between Samson Slash cuts or Baron exhaust. One style of the Baron exhaust... looking at the back of the bike you would see two pipes under each saddle bag. As with anything they are a little pricey, especially when you add the exhaust tips. If anyone uses these or is familiar with them, let me know. Thanks
  12. Sleeprhawk, looks good, with that and the Yamaha wing you should be good to go. As for me and mine, with the pics, I had to have a couple hundred of our newest friends in the back ground before I could get her pic on this site. Ride to Remember 9/11 pics, she is wearing the red white and blue shirt.
  13. SOMA (stay off my a#*), well . . . at least that's what J & P called it. I kept hearing the same thing---that the bike didn't have enough light in the back. Sooo . . . I went to the J & P catalog and found what I needed, ordered it online, and received it within 2 days. Installation was easy---no drilling or modification necessary! So here it is . . .
