  1. No, it is all stock. They re-engineered the bike completely from 2008 and earlier. Very subtle changes and some very major ones, you can't really tell too much unless an earlier model is sitting beside it.
  2. It's not much of a windshield, that's for certain...I am going to replace it with one that is probably 3-4" taller.
  3. I have a set of 2008 stock pipes I used for my break in period. If anyone is interested in picking up a good set, shoot me an email.
  4. Yeah, I'm working on that. They have already called me asking why I haven't bought any leathers yet....
  5. I have pics, don't know how to post them though.
  6. Saw this show on Saturday> Two Wheel tripping. Was about 3 ppl who toured Cicily on bikes. Beautiful country.
  7. Has anyone ever taken a motorcycle vacation? Was thinking of taking an European trip for my 40th next Sept.
  8. man, if i knew how to post pics i would do it....honestly though, i was having so many issues with the Venture...I told mark I must have bought the one they built on a late friday afternoon before a major holiday....radio issues constantly, rear end issues, it was always one thing after another, finally got tired of dealing with.
  9. Definitely. we can hook up anytime convenient for you. I live I the Inverness area/Hwy 280 & and can arrange something, just let me know.
  10. I would think around $125 + shipping would cover everything. I'm not a pricing expert, but that seems like a fair price from that I have seen on eBay.
  11. I upgraded the seat to a touring seat and added a back rest. She likes it just fine, plus has her own bike now, so I like it too.
  12. If anyone is interested in purchasing OEM exhaust please let me know. I figure I would ask you all before posting them on eBay. I used the exhaust for my 600 mile break in, then replaced them with RoadHouse slip-on's. They are in mint condition (no scratches, etc). After a recent trip to Chattanooga with 19 Harleys, I ended up replacing my 08 Venture with an 09 Street Glide. Great bike!!
  13. Thanks. Where did you order your stuff from?
  14. Does anyone have experience with blue tooth communicating?
  15. Super group of people. Hung out mostly with Richard and Dog.
  16. Saturday morning at 6am, pitch black....pretty cold. Very foggy for a while. For the first 75 miles or so it was pretty cold, but as soon as they sun popped out from behind the clouds it was nice...riding in the shade was cold. Rebecca of course had on about 10 layers of clothes, so she was ok. It makes a difference riding in a group that large because you are distracted from the coolness....
  17. Hooked up with 23 bikes in Sylacauga, Al Sat. morning at 7am, and headed up Hwy 9, through Lineville, up to Cedar Bluff, then over to Georgia, from there up through Summerville and Fort Oglethorpe, detour off through a Civil War battlefield park, then ended up in Chattanooga, TN around 4pm. Got home yesterday about 1:30. Awesome ride..

    CB usage

Taking a road trip tomorrow. Are there general channels to go to for information and such? All I know about our CB is I make sure all bikes are on the same channel. Squelch, etc. I have no clue really how to get the most of it.

    Road trip

:Venture:This Saturday, the wife and I, are heading out from Birmingham to Sylacauga. We are hooking up with Crooked Creek Riders Club, about 20 bikes, and heading all back roads up to Chattanooga, TN. Depart Sylacauga at 7:45am, arrive in TN about 5 hours later and staying at the Town And Country Inn....the plan from that point is to wash up, and get ready to meet down stairs in the Bourbon Street Restaurant & Bar to watch my Tide go up against the VOLS at 6:45 on ESPN. Sunday departure time approximately 8am. The return trip will take us through the valley of Little River Canyon as well as a scenic route through Fort Payne, AL. Should arrive home in the garage by 3pm. Which is plenty of time to clean up, and crash on the couch. The wife and I both pretty excited about it. Should be a great trip.
  20. I have an 08 with 4,100 miles on it. I noticed after my 2nd oil change my chirp has quieted down a bit...I do not use synthethic and was told NOT to at this point because it doesn't have enough miles on it. You might want to switch to a non-synthetic oil. You will need to pay attention to the rear end noise, mine is in shop now getting worked on. It is a creaking noise that Yamaha issued a bulletin on and it has to do with a few plates and such not seating exactly flat. Also, the rear hub pins and splines will need to be greased too....you can tell if that is needed when you hear a clicking noise coming from the rear when you are walking in backwards. The last thing I have noticed, that seems to be fixed now is the audio controls stop working. I do have the vibration from the rear, sounds like the right rear saddle bag to me and the right mirror vibrates pretty good. Other than that.....
  21. sounds like i need to call sylacauga glass.
  22. I don't know how to take 2 inches off it...how hard would that be?
  23. Is it possible to adjust the seat height? I installed a new windshield this weekend, 5 inches shorter than the stock height and when I had it seated all the way down I couldn't see completely over it, or look completely through it, it was at that weird height where I was looking through it and over it and the same time ....so I raised it up as far as I could get it, and now I am looking through the top inch and a half of it, which is better, but not ideal. Since I have no wiggle room on the windshield I was wondering if the seat height is adjustable up or down??
  24. I didn't think so, that's what he said though.
  25. no. this morning it was coming out the speakers. sitting still they sounded good. when i started moving the static would get louder. very strange. almost as if the bike moving had something to do with the static. but then it would start to clear up as i was braking.
