  1. Barefoot Willies, $15. Used one on the last three cruisers. Best for the price.
  2. If they have been overheated by you the rotors will show hot spots and/or heat cracks. Otherwise make them stand behind the warranty. That is what you paid for.
  3. It'd easy to do. Remove the screws holding the chrome trim around the ignition switch and unplug the wiring under it. You will see it all when the cover is removed. Remove the seat to get to the rear tank mount bolt, then remove the 2 allen headed bolts on the front left and right of the tank. They have trim plugs in them you will need to remove. Turn the fuel lever to off and remove the fuel line spring clamp and fuel line. Lift the tank off. Be sure the tank is almost empty first and it is not heavy at all. Glad you like the pics of my RSTD. I'll post more this weekend if the weather is right to take some more. Plan on riding to Wichita tomorrow.
  4. jf: I honestly don't see much improvement over the stock windshield but, it looks better and has a radio. It does deflect more wind around your arms and hands. It didn't change the handling any. I did add Memphis Shade lowers with it. Had to make my own brackets though. The chrome rack came in today. Installed it tonight.
  5. It is their Super Trunk lll. I purchased the Venture mount and side rails so changing it back would require swapping the side rails back. No big deal but takes a little time. The trunk mounted easily with six 6MM machine screws. The nuts are already located on the mount. I just set it on rubber washers. The chrome rack is due here tomorrow. I'll need to mount it and find the right LED brake light assembly and I'm done. Well, if you're ever done that is.
  6. Installed a Quadzilla in November and have no regrets. Pictures on my personal site. Haven't learned to post thumbnails yet. The quality is very good. The wire harness is well made. You will need to remove the tank and seat to install it correctly. You have to remove the 4 windshield mounts with grommets and use their hardware to install it. The fairing mounts easily and fits well. Their side deflectors work well but, the bags are a little cheesy. If you can get them to sell you their windshield bag mounts only, then you can buy a better bag from a leather dealer. Just installed a Scoot Works trunk. Waiting for the luggage rack to complete it. Let me know if you have more questions.
  7. All the above plus, Nothing To Lose with Martin Lawrence and Tim Robbins
  8. Any dealer that asks if "you bought it there first" deserves to go out of business. Dealers should welcome any customer they can get to their doors. The same holds true in the auto service business. Hope you find someone that doesn't ask that question. Good Luck!
  9. Put BUB Sleepers on 1000 miles ago('07 RSTD). Sounds great, runs great, no re-jet needed. You won't be sorry.
  10. The service tech at my dealer said there is a technical bulletin out from Yamaha addressing this issue also. Make sure they look it up or call Yamaha to get a copy.
  11. Bought an "07 TD in May. Of course they don't allow road tests on new before you buy. They were aware of the noise though as they told me it should go away after it broke in. Whined so loud at 35 in 3rd, 45 in 4th, and 55 in 5th, thought I would go nuts. Previously owned 3 Suzuki Boulevards. I thought their quality was bad. Dealer did finally replace I-Basket after I demanded. Didn't do anything to help though. They told me at my age (57) that my hearing could be at fault, then told me to buy ear plugs. They tried to convince me the noise was normal. Needless to say they won't sell me anything else. I called Yamaha customer service and was contacted by the district rep. He met me at another dealer and installed another I-basket, after installing two other used ones to show me how bad it could get. It did help just slightly, but is still there. Since then I have installed BUB Sleepers to drown out the noise. I work at an auto dealer and if we tried this approach we would be in arbitration all the time. Does anyone besides me smell a class action law suit of some kind with this problem? I'm can't imagine how many owners don't even know avout this great web site. I talked to a long friend of mine yeaserday that has the noise and didn't know it was most of these bikes. sorry for the long rant. Love the RSTD ride. Too bad it has this problem.
  12. I have read that the BUB exhaust will work without rejetting. Is this true of all slip-ons? BUB is currently on backorder until September and I don't want to wait that long. Any help appreciated.
  13. First post so I hope I'm not intruding. Have a "07 RSTD and love it except for that damned gear whine. Anyway, my dealer here in Kansas thinks the next generation Venture will be based on the Stratoliner platform to make it more in line with Harley Ultra. Would make sense from a competitors view. If they can keep the price in line it would be a good looking and powerful bike.
