Just returned from Earl's and the brake setup looks great..adds a very clean, updated appearance. Can't wait to see the rotors added to the total front package a little extra touch Earl has calculated, measured , and remeasured many times in his mind. When it all comes together it is going to look SLICK! Had a short but enjoyable visit and finaly had the pleasure to meet his wife. My wife said when leaving, "Earl's bike is, wow, clean, his garage/machine shop and tools are spotless" Stopped by the local Yamaha shop on the way back to see what was up with the new RSV and was told, if I wanted one he would order it, corporate will not just send a Venture for inventory because they just don't sell...big bikes don't move ..think of that! Pilot I have gone there every year...but not this time, as I am between bikes. My brother lives in Salisbury which made for a reunion/cheap lodging for several of us who made the trip. Can not seem to get people here in Bedford County interested, well the metric riders anyway. Always see a fair amount of HD riders from around me make the trip. In fact, I rode my 05 Nomad down with all my HD buddies. Always a good time ...ENJOY ! Here is another event still in early stages but getting larger each year http://roarinthemountains.com/ Regards Dave

Hey Earl, Denise and I may be in your neck of the woods this afternoon...might just stop by and take a look. Still have my 87 in the garage, have several people thinking about buying the venture but no takers yet...but alot of questions. Many want to know if the VR would make a 300 + mile trip. I think it should but I will not make that call since I have not ridden the bike at highway speed since the crash. I try to be honest with people and not just tell them what they want to hear. The biggest problem with most is the salvage certificate even though I was told in PA a inspection once repaired will clear the title. I have replaced all the damaged parts except the left front turn signal lens. Might even try to repair the crack in the left upper fairing since no pieces are misssing and it is only about 3 " long right along the edge . I didn't want to part the bike out since it is complete and still in very good condition. But would like to generate some more money towards a new RSV. So, I will wait a few more weeks and if nothing happens ...I will start spreading parts on the garage floor. Dave

The nerve is not cleaned , the tunnel in which the nerve passes through is cleaned to stop rubbing, pinching , etc.
-
My Doc. told me since the ulner nerve rubs between two bones, they could move the nerve to the outside of one of the bones to stop the rubbing. How they secure the nerve in place...I have no idea. Dave

I had the carpal tunnel corrected in both wrists 2001. Also for the "pinky and ring finger" numbness, the ulner nerve tunnel (6 inches) was cleaned. It is on the outside of the elbow. When the symptoms return, and they will, I was told the ulner nerve must be relocated in the elbow. This nerve goes from the wrist to the shoulder. I had numbness in the two fingers and pain well into the neck and shoulder. 6 to 8 weeks to heal, I had a nerve conductivity test done which found the ulner nerve to be bad also.

Bike fell over while putting on centerstand, fall at intersection, forgot to put down side stand, bike back over by car, etc. If so, I want rolling blunder #1 put with my screen name...I was bumped off by cager.. Just a thought to make light of our mishaps! Dave

I have to agree with making more money, but I would like to see VR put back on the road by someone. Of course, if the bike no sales I will start spreading parts on my garage floor. It is a given that some of the watchers on ebay have the intention of tearing it down and parting it out. If I were rich and famous it would be donated to the forum , repaired, and then sold using the forum to fund repairs for members who have rolling blunders. Hey, that would a great thing to start, but I am not famous or rich for that matter! Yes if everthing comes together a ride on the 20th would be great. Regards Dave

Looking at a Wing and also RSV...I will go sit on both and see about the fitment . My long inseam makes choices for me many times. My 05 Kawasaki Nomad allowed me to kick out and get comfortable but I was not thrilled with the throttle response or the way it handled in the twisties compared to the Venture or the Goldwing. One thing for sure it will be a full fairing bike with bags, now that I am used to the storage and the comfort of a touring bike it will be hard to look at anything else. Regards Dave

Thanks Earl, The look on your face when I arrived was priceless, and your hospitality was second to none! I hope to back in the saddle in short order. Maybe soon enough to make it to Ocean City Bike Week..http://www.delmarvabikeweek.com/BOE/default.html if our schedules allows perhaps Denise and I along with Jean and yourself can make the trip. My brother lives just outside OC in Salibury, free lodging and only about 35 minutes from all the events. As always, I will keep you updated ! Regards Dave

I remember when John sold the Nomad but he said he was going to play with something else..what is it? And you are right John is still active on his site along with some others, he still adds some pretty good info. on the Delphi Vulcan and touring forums. You can expect John to chime in and answer your questions with good well thought out cures and ideas. I can't believe he is not riding??? Regards Dave

Time for a new post to follow my previous, "crashed my 87'" and "waiting for the adjuster" now it is time for "search for parts". I am not sure if the adjuster and I will ever end negotiations soon but I have to start looking for a few parts. I will need: Left case guard, Left front flasher light assembly, Front radiator cover, Left side radiator cover,Left lower fairing. The left upper fairing is cracked but I think it may be an easy repair.. I have been watching E-bay with no luck in the past week. Once together again and safety inspection completed I may list it for sale and move on to a second generation. So if someone here may be interested give me a shout via PM or email . Regards Dave
