  1. Hey,, I'm a day or so late,,, but I do hope you had a great day and you don't feel any older,,, yet,,,,,,,,,,
  2. It's Muffinman in disguise.
  3. Nice job,,,,, now do you dare ride it?
  4. I could use the practice, wanta ride to Brantford?
  5. I gave Saddlebum a real live demo on his scoot, and now he has taken all the engine covers to get polished and thinking on who he rope into doing the rest of the scoot around the clean spots.
  6. And OH,, if you're going to get one and you don't like it, you can always bring it back. And if your going to get one,,, you might as well get two, that way if you're happy, you can be twice as happy, or if you get ticked, then you can be twice as ticked,,,,, not really, having 2 makes changing the front tire so much easier, 'specially the 'putting it back on' part.
  7. I have a MotoMaster and a PowerBuilt, both works to my satisfaction, but the MM that they have now is not the same as the one I got. I got mine about 7-8 years ago.
  8. You're reading tooooo fast,,, there is s four letter word there that starts with N.
  9. Don't know how this thread will bend, but it seems to be taking a turn,, so I'll help out. Giving to others has very little to do with ones self, how good we feel etc. it also has little to do with who we give it to, although that is where the results are seen,,,,, it has more to do with what the Boss sees you doing, He's the one who dresses the lily of the field and clothes the birds of the air, and so is watching how you\we are following in His footsteps. Hey, just think about it, He owns this place, and so can give where He pleases. So give to who needs it, and then don't go worrying about it.
  10. YEP!
  11. Hope and pray for all of you that this may be a quick and easy transition. Spend some good family time together to celebrate the time you all had together, and that you can look forward to the time when this will never need happen again.
  12. Could use some color,,,,,, maybe grease it!
  13. Glad to hear of success,,, $43.00, that's a deal for sure!
  14. One thing I would add, and I agree to ALL that was said, what ever you do, who ever you talk to, let them know that everything is being recorded, names, phone numbers, times, pictures of those in attendance, what was said and promised. Get a book, write it all down as the meetings take place, so in other words, take minutes. You'd be surprised at change in the attendees attitudes and what they say or advise.
  15. If you still have the old fuse box, then I would start by replacing that. It will give you more issues as time goes by, like rather soon like. If you have replaced the fuse box, you might have a loose connection, connector, so check those as well.
  16. Don't see any repels in the pond, looks kind of quiet there. NICE!
  17. I would be pulling your forks apart, if you hear something in there, somebody has been there and not got things together the way they should be. Not saying it's your problem, but it will be an issue, and you should clear up the knowns before getting to the unknowns. If it's an 83, it will be time to do the swing arm, it needs to come completely apart, cleaned and greased. Also, you say that the bars seem slightly off, when you have the forks off, it's a good time to get the measuring tape out and check to see where and how they are off, or if you are off, and then determine what the best coarse of action might be to correct the problem if there is one.
  18. So now that you got the popping to stop, it's time to start the bike and then remove the plug wire to see if it make a difference in the running. You may have a bad plug, but I'm guessing that you have a partial plugged idle circuit and that you'll notice a difference when you remove the plug wire. I use a long handled needle nose pliers to remove the plug wire, otherwise I have a shocking experience.
  19. Is the head stripped or the threads?
  20. I've just been very quiet, didn't even send Eileen an email,,, but now I'm getting tempted,,, calling us clowns,, you have a lot of nerve.
  21. When you replaced the vacuum hose did you reinsert the restricter that was in the old one? Also, you might want to start your sync from scratch. For that you need to make sure that #1, the left front cylinder (as you sit on the bike) is your lead cylinder, so that is the one adjusted with the idle screw, then the one behind it is adjusted accordingly to it. Same on the right side and then the right side to the left side. Often times things get mixed up, and one tends to have the left rear cylinder closed right off and then can't get things synced up, it almost works, but not quite. So look inside the left front carb, and watch the butterfly down inside as you turn on the idle screw, make sure it's open, not much, but it needs to be open. Then with the left side sync screw, do the same for the rear carb. Now start the bike and sync the left side, but don't turn down the idle just yet. Make sure they are both drawing the same before you adjust the idle. Then go to the right side. Sync the rear with the front and then the front to the left side front. Hope I got it right.
  22. Shouldn't you be doing a continuity test across those 3 wires to see if there's a short in the stator? 1&3,,,, 3&2,,,,,1&2 type thing???? But them what do I know,,, I don't even change tires.
  23. Somebody has to cover for 'im!
  24. Another 2 things to help with getting it up,,,,,, grease the center stand pivot points and if you can, air up the rear shock to full. Then put down the CS, right foot on the CS handle, grip the bike to balance it, rock it side to side to have it set on both legs, and then give it a good shove with your foot,,, your right foot!
  25. I am not American, although I respect and love you guys, but when you start fooling with the National Anthem then I have a problem, not a real serious problem, just a little problem. The Star Spangled Banner is a song written with particular words and music and so is identified as such. The same goes for our Canadian Anthem or any other for that matter. Sing it how you will, respectful, with gusto, happy, or sad, but leave it intact. If we can change the music, then why not adjust the words, and if we can change it a little today, what's stopping us from making more changes tomorrow. Did these boys put on a good display, yes I really enjoyed the input, but they weren't singing the National Anthem the way I know it,,,,, wonder which country they were signing for. No need to get all tied up over my comments, it's just the way it's in my heart, and I just said it.
