  1. We've managed to do it the other way around, but not sure about the way you want to do it. It's not a perfect exchange.
  2. You are a VentureRider so still on our list for involvement, in this case for now,,,, prayer. He has helped you through many troubles, and it seems that you are expecting Him to do so again. He will! Imagine what it would be like without His involvement. Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what He has done. If you need more help, let us know.
  3. I drilled a couple of holes through the tips into the mufflers, and then used stainless steel screws, so far so good after 5 years.
  4. Should have been RED,, now that's color,,, oh well, at least it a Chevy. Good goin Bud, hope you get to enjoy it for lots of miles.
  5. You have our sympathies and a prayer for comfort for all those involved.
  6. Wow, it's an old thread but I for one am glad it got resurrected for I missed it the first time. Great things happen through the toughest times, and I'm glad I got to see this vid. Wish you all our best as time goes on.
  7. For the cost and peace of mind, buy a new one and replace it, not hard to do and don't take all that long, probably quicker than trying to 'fix' it.
  8. In addition to this,,,,, and I know how easily things are forgotten,,, after a stop, light or sign or whatever, keep your speed down to below 30mph, so that everybody can get together. It's great to have somebody at the rear, a tail gunner, to tell you when all out, so that you don't take off too early. If you don't do this and you've set your max speed at 50 mph, the last person in the pack will often hit speeds of 80mph just to catch up and keep the group together,,, and it is important to keep the group together and smaller, as Brad said 10-12. Here again, if it's too large the group will spread out too far and some cager will get too impatient and cut in between, or try to pass, can't make it and cut into the group without a second thought about a rider they are cutting off.
  9. Thanks Steve, that was good to remember. Yes, humor can be had without the s word.
  10. Plastex or Platifix, comes with a piece of shapeable rubber that you can use to replicate the pattern of the plastic. may take a bit of practice, but doable.
  11. We're with you Dan,,, will ask the Great Physician for intervention.
  12. I would do as described, clean away any paint involved, open up the cracks and then use Plastifix. Much cheaper than Plastex and looks to be the same stuff. http://www.urethanesupply.com/ I picked up a profession kit at AircraftSpruce: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cmpages/01-00545-45.php?clickkey=8215
  13. Some of us ship to somebody close to the border and then we Canucks can go pick it up, or it can be delivered,,, good time for eating as well.
  14. before you go gung ho on us, think about it. The engine is basically a vacuum pump, or a pressure pump, depending on the end of the engine you are at. So in this case we have a vacuum pump and you say the the compression is fine so it's drawing vacuum, it's just that you don't seem to be able to measure it,,,, the carb would have very little to do with that, it's going to draw vacuum regardless of even if the carb is there or not. So what can have a profound effect on the vacuum measure???? the butterflies, seeing as they are the ones that close off or open up the port that makes the vacuum. In the process of measuring vacuum, we need to be on the vacuum side of the butterflies, hence below them, and I would suppose you checked that out, so you must have airflow, but it's not restricted by the butterflies to make vacuum, so they are open. If even one butterfly is off too far, it can cause the others to remain open and hence have no restriction and then no vacuum. So, hook it up again and this time do things in reverse so to speak. Start with the cylinder that has vacuum and open it up until it loses it vacuum, then go to the next cylinder and pull the same trick. My guess is that by now you will be able to carry on as though you knew what you were doing. This is all theory on my part, and I'm not re-reading it for the fear that I'll become all confused, so hopefully you find it interesting.
  15. Well at least I'm glad that happened, now you is a whole lot wiser,,,,, but Ben & I have a discussion coming up,,,,, you see, there are 4 bikes in my garage,, now which one is the culprit?
  16. I have a phone as well, can do almost anything, but all it gets to do is make phone calls and do the text thing,,,, the rest can wait until I gets on the computer. Enough already with everybody taking over my life and being enslaved to this, that, and what ever else they can throw at ya. And NO!!!! they're not going to put something on either my computer or my phone that I haven't specifically asked for. GET OUT OF MY LIFE!!!! OK I'm done for now!
  17. Don't scare yourself half to death,,, it's not like it hasn't happened before and had to be dealt with. First things first, take off the middle gear cover and discover what happened, then post back for more info.
  18. Who let you out of your corner????
  19. It wasn't me Ben,,,, I did not do it,,,,,, oh crap, now that has to come apart?
  20. How come they didn't invite me???? Boy, they don't know what they're missing now do they!
  21. I was going to say something but I don't want Brad to get mad at me.
  22. Had the clutch apart, the middle gear cover off, the clutch slave, and all the brakes. It must have come from somewhere,, or is it a coffee can item?
