  1. Little bit of moisture, and a little bit of time will make that needle seize up. You'll have to take it apart to clean and lube as best you can and then see if you did a good job.
  2. Can we put this in the tech section,,,,,,awe PLEASE?
  3. Is that so I can keep an eye on my wife?? or is it for 2nd gens only:stirthepot:,, seeing as 1st gens rarely sit still long enough to worry about what's behind them. Like you said, expensive, but the price will come down!

  5. Thanks for helping out the economy, now all you need is some steaks on the barbie!
  6. That would be my guess. You could always hook up a charger to the battery to bring up to full charge.
  7. 74 is a mile stone, but then so is 85
  8. Aren't they called security caps?
  9. Fire the bike up and then post the findings at the bike side of the pigtail. Also would be handy to note the voltage at the signal light bulb socket.
  10. Not me, but a customer of ours found a head of a frozen turkey stuck in the large cavity of the bird. It was set so that when a person would reach into the cavity their finger or fingers would slide right into the open beak. Needless to say, they didn't eat turkey for Christmas, and the companies flooded them with other tangible things. And as a meat manager I was blamed for letting this bird out of the store,,,,,,, ya right!
  11. CCW if you're looking at it from the back, left side,, now if you're looking at it from the other left it will be CCW, but if your' looking at it from the front from where you can't see it, it will be CW from either side.

  19. Sorry Dano, hate to disappoint, but we'll do anything in a pinch,, we can be the most helpful folks around, we aim to please our customer, and if in the process we can claim more available procedures, and Dick wants to be the ginny pig.............. Now has to comparing your shoulder to a tranny Dick???? I'll think on that one, but you're welcome to stop by on your trip to TO to say hello and let me at it,,,,, can't say I can fix it any,,,, but at least I can make it worse.

  22. Hi, and Welcome. The 1200 and V-max are the same motor, just that the 1200 is de-tuned. Somebody else can give more specific info than me. You will be advised to take out the engine and do second gear upgrade, even if it's done, most likely the undercut on the gear dogs was most likely not done and so then will give you trouble in the future. Brakes and brake lines can be upgraded as well as front forks. Also check for frame rusting, braking just behind the exhaust collector, some have it, some don't, but seems to be an easy fix with a good welder.
  23. Correct,,, wow Gary, we agree,,, does that mean I'm getting good or what???? I would like to clarify though, you said on the inner surface, yes, but facing out so that it can be seen at the split. About the gasket,, don't worry about it just yet. If it needs doing you'll need it anyways, if it doesn't it's a cheap price to pay for peace of mind, and if you buy and want to ride it home, it shouldn't leak that bad that you can't keep up with it. Just don't loose any pieces so that at least you can put it all back to at least half decent shape. You never know, there a small chance it might pop off in one piece.
  24. Boy you had me for a while,,, here I thought it was a bike you were working on, until I started reading at the start,,,,, I was wondering about all those parts and where to find them,, and then I worried because of the names as to how much more is was going to cost to fix it. But hey,, it's just your shoulder,,, no sweat bro, just bring it over here, we've done lots of those, it'll only take a few minutes, we use only stainless, not painless,,we can repair or replace on the spot, and we even provide a guarantee which comes to you via email,,, sorry, something had to come from there. Best wishes for the future, and may God bless the procedure for you.
