  1. I'm not even going to MENTION that I READ that,,, she might get some ideas.
  2. Congrats you two. Good to have some pictures, that assures us that there is at least one good looking one in the set.
  3. Happy birthday to Jeff,, at least he gets to spend part of the day with you,, and he gets ICE-CREAM,,, I mean, what else would a real guy want for his birthday.
  4. I would go with all JBM, by the time you need to replace them, or do anything else to them, you'll be riding a different sort of bike.
  5. Last time I was over there Bob, Goldie still needed some work, or are you saying that's all done now,,, hey, we need some pictures then, or else you got somethin to do,, just have to get at it and once you do you'll be wondering what took you so long. I think the 86er got a little more to go than maybe Goldie.
  6. I just wish we could still run 3.1,, that was simple, easy and it worked.
  7. You shouldn't post things like that first thing in the morning,,, or last thing at night for that matter. There goes another fine pair,, just bought them to!!!
  8. Wouldn't be all that hard to make a set, hardest part would be to find and purchase the parts. I'm guessing around $20 to $30 plus shipping. I really have no real idea on the cost, seeing as Wayne got some parts and the stainless brackets were made free gratis last time, but will cost this time. If I make one set, those stainless jobbies will be expensive, if I make more, the cost goes down.
  9. Ya buuuut, Jonas is such a nice guy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  10. Funny, I've heard those words before somewhere,,,, but then who cares, I can go into my shop, walk over and caress her and tell her that summer is really coming and that soon she'll be out hauling me all over the country,, and then quietly she murmurs that a break is not all that bad, and she's as ready as she'll ever be to go find the corners, hills and beautiful scenery of our grand country side.
  11. Why not adjust the lever?
  12. There should be an extra piece of cable come with the meter. If you can't get at it at the antenna, you should be able to take the cable off the radio,,, same difference, maybe not 99% as accurate.
  13. Hope you got this right. With the meter attached, set the switch to fwd, then key the mic and set pointer at 'set'. Release the mic, set switch to ref key the mic and the pointer should read to '0', if not adjust antenna and then do this all over again, including setting the pointer to 'set' in the fwd position.
  14. Your SWR meter should come with a short cord, so it can be plugged in where ever you have connection in the antenna lead. I usually try to undo the connection right at the antenna. You need to be outside, with the trunk in place and anything you would normally load in the trunk in the trunk. Once you have the meter hooked in, you power up the CB, key the mic, set the pointer of the meter at 'set' while the switch is in the fwrd position. Release the mic button, move the switch into the rev position and key the mic again. It should read 0, if it doesn't then you need to adjust the antenna. Do it all again and see what happened and adjust accordingly.
  15. I haven't put my 86 back together yet, and the 83 to 85 is different, doesn't have that piece, so I think it's got to do with the chrome piece that goes on. It probably holds, stabilizes the chrome piece.
  16. If you guys keep this in memory, then I'm going to change my name to Cow-Paddie.
  17. When I go for Ice-cream, I go looking for Kawartha Dairy, or Hewitts Dairy, in that order. If they can't be had then DQ will do, but only until I get back to ONTARIO!!!!
  18. TOM!!!!!! the way you keep ranting, folks here are going to think the worst of you, thinking that you are a miserable old man and there just is no way to please you. Actually everybody, Tom is sort of a nice chap, kind of easy to get along with, and will open his home and heart to almost anybody, and will even feed you pizza if you show up. I could say more, like how much he adores Taters, his dog(s), his bike, how much he does for others with his rallies, and more, but I not take away from the present subject, which seems to be one of his favorites, seeing as he talks about it so much.
  19. Nice looking machine,, I even like the color,, WOW! Now how far do you think you can ride that in one day??? Can I ride it? Can I ride it,,, oh come on PLEEEEAAAASE,,,, you said I could,,,, I been good all day so far,,,,, come on, tell me: Can I ride it?
  20. If there's no pictures, it didn't happen. Only 24 hours in the tractor seat,,, not bad for an olde guy.
  21. Wow that is good to hear,,, Halleluiah!
  22. Certainly did notice that the other day, but I wasn't going to say anything, although now I could no longer resist.
  23. Got an extra old one laying right here, it's out of an 83,,, oh whoops,, it's a yahmi, sorry.
  24. Somebody put the clutch together wrong. Take it apart to see if the thrust plate, (washer) is in the right position) #2 in the parts fiche. If you put this next to # 18, you'll come up the the problem you discribe. http://images.powersportsnetwork.com/fiche/images/YAMAHA/1988/Motorcycles/277_clutch.gif
  25. Well aren't they made out of tin? fuzzy!!!!
