  1. No, sorry. In Michigan it's a no-fault state and that means nobody was at fault. Not even the big Lincoln Continental that hit me as I was sitting waiting for traffic to clear. Nope it wasn't their fault that they sent me across two oncoming lanes of traffic and onto the far sidewalk. Nobody to blame, it just happened. I don't disagree that I *should* be able to sue, but I can't. Not in Michigan. Here's another one to chew over too. In Michigan a motorcycle is not considered a "vehicle" as is a car. If I was in my car I could have a mini-suit to get back some or all of my deductible but because I was on a motorcycle I'm (as they say) S.O.L. Sigh... Ah well, I'm unhurt, I didn't drop the bike and everything is repairable. I'm going to replace what's necessary and fix the rest and I should actually come out even. Life is good!
  2. I've used it on the past 3 sets of tires. How well does it work once you puncture your tire? I'll tell you when it happens. Even though I haven't had a tire problem it gives me peace of mind to know what it's supposed to do. Where to get it at a discount and more info? Follow this thread: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=576
  3. I was rear-ended by someone in a car last week. The accident wasn't bad but there was damage. I called Progressive the following day and reported the accident. I also scheduled the claims adjuster to come over this week and look it over. Since talking to him initially I took a closer look at the damage and thought that it just wasn't worth having the insurance company get involved since I had a $1,000 deductible. The adjuster suggested he come over and look at it anyway just to make sure. When he got here he went over everything very carefully and professionally. He called me up today after getting prices on what needed to be repaired. His estimate was that there was almost $3,000 in damage. I'm glad he convinced me that he should look things over. Did you know that a saddlebag (new) is around $900 list? Ouch. If anyone sees a left 2003 (rasberry & sand) saddlebag on eBay, could you fire me an email?
  4. I just visited the site. Excellent! 27% off list price. Thanks Gary
  5. Anyone know of a good 2003 Red & Gold saddlebag for sale? The dealer's price is outrageous and I've been looking on eBay without any luck. Also, who has the best prices on replacement parts like fenders, turn signal assemblies, etc? I'm also looking for the best discounts in accessories. Yup, someone decided to "customize" my bike last week. Thanks.
  6. Thanks everyone for the well-wishes! We got back from Vegas last night. You're right Eddie, I didn't gamble a cent while I was there. It was nice riding country though. We went through Red Rock Canyon on a rented '08 Gold Wing. Then headed out to California and then back over to Arizona. I got my first sunburnt nose of the year. For anyone in the area, we're meeting for breakfast tomorrow Sunday Apr 20th at Leon's on Michigan Avenue just east of Telegraph Rd at 10am. Hope you can make it.
  7. I have one available also. Just pay for the shipping...
  8. Same here. They don't vibrate off and you don't need tools.
  9. oooh, How about "McArthur Park", sung(?) by the actor Richard Harris. Here's a verse: MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark All the sweet, green icing flowing down Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it took so long to bake it And I'll never have that recipe again Oh, no!
  10. This was a case in Florida. She was denied the license.
  11. I just got to see Carbon One's trike yesterday. It's still in the building stage but looks like it's going to be sharp. Excellent job Larry!
  12. Hey, Pink & I will be in town during the week of April 13th. We're getting married there on the 16th. Perhaps we could have an evening Meet & Eat that week? Denden & Vicki said that they also might be there that week.
  13. Yup, I understand. Other people on the tool site reviewing the units said pretty much the same thing about the size and the cycling issue. Anyway, no matter if it was a 45,000 or 75,000 BTU unit, it would still be an improvement to what I have today. Thanks.
  14. Well, to each his own. I was working in the garage last night with the propane heaters and kerosene heater working. The air got warm enough within a few minutes that I had to take my coat off. However, the power tools (scroll saw, chop saw, etc) was still too cold to work with. Even though the air was warm I still had to wait for the tools to warm up so there wasn't any time savings. Anyway, I ordered my heater.
  15. That is hilarious! It took me a minute for me to realize what I was looking at. Your wife is very talented.
  16. Eddie told me not to go with the bigger one. He'll give you the ABCs of furnace sizing, as he did me, if you ask nicely Bigger isn't necessarily better ... in furnaces anyway.
  17. Not to put any pressure on you whether to buy or not, but they have it on sale now and shipping is free. Anyhow, knowing the free shipping is ending any day now I decided to buy it. I don't have a gas line run out to the garage yet, but saving over $100 was too good to wait until later this year. It'll have to sit in the garage until I run the line out and Eddie comes over to install it for me.
  18. I'll do that. Are you going to be home Sunday?
  19. Yup, this one has the option of horizontal or vertical venting. It's listed as a "spark" ignition. I assume that means electronic.
  20. I'm using a kerosene heater and 2 propane heaters right now.
  21. I'm in the process of upgrading my garage and have found this garage heater on sale. I was wondering if anyone has used this, or know if the brand is good? The reviews seem to be good fromwhat I've read. I have a 2.5 car garage that I'm insulating/heating. Link to garage heater info: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200307959_200307959 Thanks.
  22. You sir, are correct. Since there's a thread on McRae's already, why not keep it in one area, OK?
  23. Welcome back Mike. Did you get a keyboard or the adapter to get you going?
  24. I had my boots replaced last year at the dealer's suggestion. They saw the cracks when I took the bike in for that infamous whine problem. The bike's whine problem, not mine... BTW, both the clutch basket and the boot replacement were covered under warranty.
