Way to go guys!
-
Well....we look forward to meeting Mary along the road one day. Perhaps Arkansas?
-
She's my sweetheart...of course she is coming! I am lucky to have a partner that enjoys travelling as much as I do...and a biker too! Yesterday I told her my girlfriend was mad at me cause I wasnt taking her......thats when the fight started! Just kidding of course.
-
Me too....worth the little bit extra it costs....around 40 bucks.
-
Ya then he'll "punch" your ticket! I wont think of work for the next two weeks....thats how long I have off...I need a couple days when we get back to recover!
-
Well...I am officially excited now. Tomorrow we head out to Bismark ND. Then at 630 am Sunday we board our plane to California and head out on a leaky boat for a week long cruise. The ship is the Carnival Pride and we touch Cabo san something, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta (sp)? I write this to make all you stuck in this frozen waste land envious of course! We are going with another couple..some may have heard me talk of them...they ride Indians- Chief and a Scout. (when they can get them working right!) She is turning 40 while we are in the ocean and its also their 20th anniversary. He thought to surprise her with this little jaunt. She does not know yet but will find out tonight as we are going there for supper and last minute planning. This surprise has been in the works for a year now! And she suspects nothing! Even her work knows and have played along....kept her name on the schedule and everything. Gonna tip back some of those fruity drinks and try not to fall off the ship! Take care you parka clad people! At least for one week I can gloat!

I believe the best tip I've received from here is this...most all oil brands will do the job....the secret is changing it often....every 3000 miles or so. The oil thread can get lengthy....lol.
-
I'd take a set as well Rick!
-
And looking forward to seeing you and Sarah as well as everyone else Don.

I for one can vouch for Craig if he needs vouching for! He had my trailer there for a while a couple years ago. Then took me for a little ride when I was down picking up my midnight a couple years ago. Nice fella with a nice bike.

I had a spot on the wall that would crack every winter. This was due to the house shrinking I guess.... I used the fibreglass tape instead of the regular paper tape. Hasnt done it since.

Marilyn at a whopping 5 foot 3 inches loves her 1100 vstar. Just heavy enough for the highway and yet light enough to manouver in town. Enough power to get out of trouble fast (or into it if she chooses) and also able to ride the highways with the bigger bikes. Not light that she gets blown around either.

Jackie I just googled that bike and the tire sizes you listed are differant from what was listed in the specs from the site I went to. It lists the tire sizes as....Front 110/90-19 and Rear 170/80-15. That could make a differance in your search for the right tire. Southwest moto are great to deal with for getting tires and have the sizes I listed for each brand you mentioned. Sorry...those tire sizes I posted are for the 1100cc, the 750cc have the ones you posted.

Backfire after oil change
sarges46 replied to Dave77459's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Cant see what changing the oil did anything. But it sure seems like something is not firing right or not at all. Try carefully placing hand on cylinders to see if they are all warm. Post and wait for further help. It might be something real easy. -
I tried the link very early this morning and it says its been removed?

Congrats to Hope, Charlie. Proud papa I bet! Thats what my little girl is thinking of doing...she just loves critters of all kinds. -
Wow...cool pics Charlie!
-
He is doing a good cause for sure. I am almost positive that this pic is a posed one. Helmets are mandatory in all provinces and the only exemption would be for a parade and he would need a permit. Dang that must have been cold.....its now warmer than it was in Arkansas when we went down to get my bike last month! Gonna be in the + tomorrow! That should get the frost out and make slick roads even more fun for him.
-
That was very good. Nice to see and drool a little whilst we twiddle our thumbs waiting for another 3 months before we can venture out.

Nor do I...love having that thing.

I was a little concerned when I started reading this post. I thought there would be way too much strain on the straps. But now that I've seen the pics...I rethink that and believe it will be ok. Question....can the bike trailer be stood on her back side? If so would that give you enough room to straighten the bike a little? Thats a good looking rig.
