I cant get the bike out of the shop due to all the rain we are having here, it also needs a new battery which I will be picking up tomorrow. So for now these are the best pics I have of the finished job. As soon as the rain stops and I can get it up to the house I will have better pictures to post.

I just added some pics of my "in-process" conversion from the Bub's to the H-D Ultras. I'm still waiting for my chrome V-Twin clamps to come in, and still need to finish fabbing the brackets. You can also see the problem I've been ranting about with the tips on the Bub's. I couldn't get the plugs knocked out of the H-D's, so I used a hole saw and cut them out. I really like the sound, which seems to be a deeper note, and the bigger cans really fill out the back end. I first tried the used ones I bought just in case I screwed them up, and I had a pretty hard time getting them slid up on the head pipes. When I tried the new set on they slid all the way up by hand. If you look at one of the pics you can see that they slide up even with the end of the heat shields, so the chrome clamps should finish them off nicely. I'll post finished pics probably this weekend, but so far so good. When this is finished I'll have a slightly used set of H-D's with the plugs out, and a VERY used set of Bub's for sale. But I may wind up having to plug the ends with corks and use them as pontoons if it don't quit raining here! UPDATE; Project is finished. The Bub's are sold, and I just posted the HD's in classifieds.

Well, it only took me about a year start to finish but she is finally finished. The aluminum boxes were the only items purchased elsewhere. Everything else was done at our home. Of course the day I get it put together it is raining outside. Had to wait until 11pm to take her for a test run. Pulls great, I just need a little more practice. First time pulling a trailer, was a little nervous. Hope you guys like. I've been ever since the last bolt went in!!!!!!

As some of you remember and though I was CRAZY in this last thread, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32974 I took the template and some advise from some of you folks and came up with a formed 1" round stainless steel rod. Then I had a bracket placed were the kick stand goes. (off set under there as well) then had the Darn thing Chromed. (Thanks Mike for bring that part back) great guy! Wife is very happy that she now can extend her legs outward It also does not get in my way. I almost had it figured out a way for the kickstand not to hit the darn thing when up.. gave up since I did my Trike Conversion last month and had the kickstand removed anyways. Just thought I would share my finished results. Wife tried then today on about a 100 mile ride. she loved them! I also placed a Shinny New Quarter one each side. one from Iowa were we live now and the other from were we came from. Calif. The support strength from this new bracket is stronger then the ones that I have up front, off the crash bar. Take a look! the last few are from under. Still trying to up-load pics folks.. something is wrong.. not working right today.. Jeff

Finally finished the bike this past weekend. Took it out to work last night for its shakedown ride. Bike seems to run better and a bit more power with all that AIS crap removed and plenty more room to access stuff now. Repaired some small cracks and painted the Wagner Grill and inserts to match the bike as close as a spray can will allow. I also bought those stick on ports which I was going to apply to the air boxes, however I think they look better on the saddlebags.

Just finished putting a J&M2003 comm unit on the SO's wee strom and it works great - except. Below about 60 the comms are great, but above they become garbled. This is with a 05 venture on my end. No electrical noise on either bike. Both units play MP3 fine at high speed, it's just the talking. We both wear Nolan modular (N-102) helmets and have tried the mics with and without the foam wind socks. My stock windshield is cut down and hers was never full. 90% of wind goes over our heads. Tried with the face shields up 1/2" and down. Down is better, but still garbled. Is this inherent with full helmets?

Finished the winter project
Iceman posted a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I just finished a winter bike project and am very happy with the results. I have a 98 RSTD, had it a couple of years. The valve guides started leaking and puffing out smoke once in a while. I liked the bike but didn't like the smoke and I wanted a little more zip. I bought a 2004 RSV engine/trans, 2007 RSV carbs, bub full exhaust, Dyna 3000, K&N pods and some other goodies. I also bought a bike stand from Carbon One (which worked perfect) and started tearing it down Thanksgiving week. I searched for and studied everything I could find, especially the wisdom of venture riders. A special thanks to my brother Pete who listened to my challenge every day, for the knowledge given to my by Freebird and Pegscraper, and others who have posted tech help. I don't have any pictures yet, but am working on them. Thanks, Iceman -
Just thought I would post a few pics of my new trailer. Finally finished building the frame and sent it to the aluminum guys to have the boxes made. All I have left is to finish installing the lights, carpet the boxes and build the hitch for my bike. I'll post more pics later when it is complete.

Hi everyone, Sorry to have been hiding for a while. Had to finish a 1.5 year divorce from a 20yr. marriage. It kinda kept me down a bit since December. Couldn't go anyplace, show any money, or do anything that might upset the procedure. Well, Thursday was it. Before the judge for 15 minutes and done. Went Friday and signed the rest of the papers. Hell, I even hid Mocha - afraid that she might have been grabbed. Had to have Maggie purchase all the Christmas stuff this year and the whole 9 yards. I got custody of my daughter and the ex-wife is moving back to Ohio (Sorry Freebird). This week I will move my title over, get insurance back on and get back to living. Finished a bunch of maintenance this weekend and only need the CORRECT grommets to finish the valve covers. Hell, I finished 86er's rear headset jack even!! Thanks to everyone for being around. I never felt alone reading the posts. Almost felt like I was along for the rides. I know compared to many others, my problem wasn't big, but it sure depressed and stressed me quite a bit. JB

Hay all, I have been putting together an 03 RSV for about a year now. I have been getting most of my parts through ebay but have yet to find the chrome plastic strip for the windshield cover. At $100 bucks new for plastic (ouch) I would rather by used. I can repair scrapes and repaint.but even the used parts dealers don't have one. Have you got a real good used parts dealer that you would direct me too? thanks. I'll send lots of pics of the bike when I'm finished. For a sneek preview of my fuel tank paint job go to http://www.mackair.com. Look down a few pics til you come to one that has indians&horses. This guy does great work!
