  1. I know a lot of people don't care for her type of music, and I don't know why I'm attracted to it... I guess it's that in your face.. let it all hang out style?? Bobby Mcgee, Cry Baby. Love the stuff. Ran across this on youtube. WOW!! IMHO.... JANIS JOPLIN

    Santa Baby!

Santa Baby did fine shoping this year for me the elf's told me what she Ordered http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94813
  3. Been looking at riding over to one of those island/tourist destinations for a few days next year. Washington Island Wi or Mackinac Mi. Both require a ferry trip. Never had a bike on a boat. Anybody know how stable my baby will be [my bike, Renate can look after herself]. Anything i should know or do before i show up at the dock. Just curious, thanks. al
  4. Well troops, I've 'bout got the Venture the way I want it now, BUT I want/need one more thing-a good, dead solid, reliable burglar alarm for the bike. For right now it lives in the garage, which has an alarm, and that, coupled with a 1911 Colt gives all the security I need:innocent:, but I really want to take it on some long trips this coming year and leaving my baby sitting outside at a hotel scares the crap outta me ...sooo, who makes the best/most reliable MC alarm? Your experiences and ideas are GREATLY appreciated!
  5. The whole time I've owned this Second Gen. I thought to myself how it lacked power?man this thing is really detuned? I sold my First Gen. and kept this one? WHY? It ran fair or OK on our trip to ST. Charles MO. meet, we kept up with the group OK but not what I expected from a V4 motor. Coming home on I44 doing 70-75mph we were getting around 32-35mpg not bad for fighting head winds and some rain storms but still I expected better performance. Anyway after we got home I went out to ride up to the store and it would not even pull itself out of the garage. Found I bought some bad gas, after putting in fresh gas I did some testing and found my #3 cylinder was totally dead no spark... Well after my second Knee rehab again, I finally got around to changing it out,man that was a big pain in the rear. I could not believe the power this beast has now WOW. my word this baby is ALIVE.. The Whole time I've owned this bike the #3 cylinder must have been dead! thats over 2,500mi riding time. WOW this baby is smooth....... This motor is so well built you may not know you was on three cylinders... If not for the bad gas ordeal I might have not known I had a bad coil. And to think I was getting ready to sell this Second Gen. Well I changed my mind NOW. Looking forward to ST Jude's next Month, really going to see how well this baby does on open roads!!! Now I know why I kept it and sold the First Gen. Second gen. Rocks!!!
  6. need some help with a name for the Christmas baby. She is 6 week old and Redneck won't quit calling her "wombat". Photo 1 is a wombat, Photo 2 is my baby girl. Middle son thought of Holley. Any ideas?
  7. Because of recent abductions In daylight hours, refresh yourself Of these things to do In an emergency situation... This is for you, And for you to share With your wife, Your children, Everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, Forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful In this crazy world we live in. 1 .Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbowis the strongest point On your body. If you are close enough to use it,do! 2. Learned this from a tourist guide In New Orleans If a robber asksfor your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you.... Chances arethat he is more interested In your wallet and/or pursethan you, And he will gofor the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! 3. If you are ever throwninto the trunk of a car, Kick out the back tail lightsand stick your arm out the hole And start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you,but everybody else will. This has saved lives 4. Women have a tendencyto get into their cars After shopping, eating, working, etc.,and just sit (doing their check book, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!) The predatorwill be watching you,and this Is the perfect opportunityfor him to get in On the passenger side, put a gun to your head, And tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE. If someone Is in the car With a gun To your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine And speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person isin the back seat They will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes Bail out and run. It is better than having themfind your body In a remote location.. 5.A few notes about getting Into your car in a parking lot, Or parking garage: A.) Be aware: Look around you, Look into your car, At the passenger side floor, And in the back seat B.) If you are parked next to a big van, Enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims By pulling them into their vanswhile the women Are attemptingto get into their ca rs. C.) Look at the car Parked on the driver's sideof your vehicle, And the passenger side..If a male is sitting alone In the seat nearest your car,you may want to walk back Into the mall, or work, and get=2 0a guard/policemanto walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.) 6. ALWAYStake the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible placesto be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!) 7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you(a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likelyWILL NOTbe a vital organ. RUN,Preferably in a zig -zag pattern! 8. As women,we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It may get you raped,or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man,who ALWAYS played on the sympathiesof unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane,or a limp, and often asked'for help'into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told methat her friend heard a crying baby on her porchthe night before last, and she called the policebecause it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do,DO NOT open the door.' The ladythen said thatit sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawlto the streetand get run over. The polic eman said,'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do,DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they thinka serial killer has a baby's cry recordedand uses it to coax women out of their homesthinking that someone dropped off a babyHe said they have not verified it, but have had several callsby women saying that they hear baby's criesoutside their doors when they're home aloneat night. Please pass this on and DO NOTopen the door for a crying baby ---- Thise-mail should probablybe taken seriously because the Crying Baby theorywas mentioned on America 's Most Wantedthis past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana I'd like youto forward thisto all the women y ou know. It may save a lifeA candle is not dimmedby lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys,if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want topass it onto them, as well. Send thisto any woman you knowthat may need to be remindedthat the world we live inhas a lot of crazies in it and it's better to be safethan sorry..

  10. My poor baby got a ticket! Riding to work this morning Steve was in front of a big rig and behind a cop. The cop slowed down to 40 mph on the freeway then pulled Steve over. He wrote my baby a ticket for following too close. He will be fighting this one. I believe Steve's words were "You put my life in danger pinning me in front of that big truck just to write me a ticket!"
  11. Hello All, Have rebuilt my motor cycle tralior and cannot find any baby moon hub caps for my wheels. I have 4.80 x 8 inch tires. And yes pictures are coming. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :cool10:

  13. Well, we had a nice get together at Hooters for our own Clay18, to send him back to Iraq for his second tour in the sandbox. Had a great turnout we had 21 people show up for the meet. We had old friends, new friends and new babies.....Clays baby girl. 14. keep your fingers, legs, eyeballs, and anything else you can bodily cross, crossed today. The saga of the Venture has continued. Still torn down at the dealer, but didn't want to keep crying and whining here about it...one thing after another with lost parts in the mail, etc,etc....anyway, ... tonight is suppose to be the big night, after 4 weeks, that we get our baby back. I appreciate all the moral support you have given me....it helps to have people understand. So, even if your co workers look strange at you walking around with your legs crossed, just tell them "No you don't need to use the restroom, your just helpin' out a friend! Thanks again!
  15. :173:May not be the right place to post this but I have to tell someone since the emails were already sent out by my wife to tell everyone else about it! We welcomed our first grandson into this world yesterday at 4:30 P.M. Seven pounds and four ounces and twenty inches long. Mom and baby are both doing great and ready to go home already. Its hard to believe that I am actually a grandpa at 42 years old but I wouldnt trade this feeling for anything in the world! Looks like I may have to ride all alone for awhile since grandma wont leave the baby for anything.

  19. and all the other Long Riders out there. Every time I hear this song, I immediately think of lowell. But I also think it would be an appropriate theme song for a lot of the members here. The Long Way Home (Tom Waits) Well, I stumbgled in the darkness I'm lost and alone Thiugh I said I'd go before us And show the way back home Ther's a light up ahead I can't hold onto her arm Forgive me pretty baby but I always take the long way home Money's just somethihng you throw Off the back of a train Got a handful of lightening And a hat full of rain And I know that I said I'd never do it again And I love you pretty baby but I always take the long way home I put food on the table And a roof overhead But I'd trade it all tomorrow For the highway instead Watch your back if I should tell you Loves the only thing I've ever known One thing for sure pretty baby I always take the long way home. You know I love you Babbby More than the whole wide world You are my woman I know you are my pearl Let's go out past the party lights We can finally be alone Come with me and we can take the long way home Come with me, together we can take the long way home Come with me, together we can take the long way home.

  25. A Baby's Hug We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking. Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, "Hi." He pounded his fat baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with merriment. I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes. His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so varicose it looked like a road map. We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled. His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. "Hi there, baby. Hi there, big boy. I see ya, buster," the man said to Erik. My husband and I exchanged looks, "What do we do?" Erik continued to laugh and answer, "Hi" Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby. Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, "Do ya patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek-a-boo." Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk. My husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn, reciprocated with his cute comments. We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot The old man sat poised between me and the door. "Lord, just let me out of here before he speaks to me or Erik," I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's' "pick-me-up" position. Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man's. Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their love and kinship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes. His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time. I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice, "You take care of this baby." Somehow I managed, "I will," from a throat that contained a stone. He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, "God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my Christmas gift." I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, "My God, my God, forgive me." I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a Mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a Child who was not. I felt it was God asking, "Are you willing to share your son for a moment?" when He shared His for all eternity.. The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, "To enter the Kingdom of God we must become as little children." Live Simply - Love Generously - Care Deeply - Speak Kindly - Leave the Rest to God Ride safe, Bobbie
