well no one has ever made a plea like this that i know of ,so here it goes. we have around 5,000 members on here, some just sit back and enjoy the benefit's. alot of us are doers. nothing wrong with that. but in my opinion we need more people around the two countries usa, and canada to sponser meet and eats. believe me folks they are more fun to get together than you can imagine, and a great chance to meet great people and help promote a great site. i love seeing people get together and have a great time. i enjoy putting on meets and attending them. it's not hard to do. if anyone wants to have a meet and eat but does'nt know how to do it just ask and i and many others would be glad to give you input. i know i could do one almost every weekend and never get tired of it. nice thing about meet and eats is the people that don't have alot of vacation can participate if they are close to home. so think about it and lets do it. bill :clap2:

Plain and simple NY SUX! Got my bike inspected today, ( know the guy so just gave him the Mileage and Reg) and found out alot about new bullcrap of NYS bike inspections. First of all the safety inspection which is nuts. Car tires are automatic fail and they are instructed to look for that. Also they are supposed to ride the bike and also remove a wheel. Now that leads to two problems. First is how can you do this and make any money or even cover your time for a fee of $6 and who wants an inspector to ride your bike. Im very protective of who rides my bike and I dont want it rode. Who knows what can happen. Also we are hearing alot of dealers quoting for things like fork seals. Guess you need to figure out ways to cover all the time you loose doing these $6 inspections. Just venting and fortunately I have an in but watch your butts if you are in NY. Maybe something the AMA should look into. Are they this stupid in other states?

I am trying to get a count of how many would be interested in a M&E BBQ on Sat May 24th. ( Memorial Day Weekend ) Thinking of a big chunk of Beast on the Pit..all the fixins, Sweet Tea.. ( or your fav. bev.) and alot of kickin back, tellin stories, getting to know each other and in genral, just have a good time.. might even pitch a washer or two.. I have 5 acres of camping area if any one needs to stay, or there are hotels within 5 miles.. Please let me know by the 18th of May. I know this can be a busy weekend for alot of folks. Kreg

What happened i told the wife i was staying home to do my paper's that need to get done and guess what hap pended. Ya nice weather and a message poof i was off did a little over a 115 miles what a great day and i found these two bikes one old clunker and a nice 2nd Gen. I'm not sure but the one looks alot like a pre first Gen.:rotf: any one know who they are as i was a bit worried about the old bike making it back home on its own with all its parts falling off and rattling had a good time and nice meeting you all Dray

started riding the bikes again this week. the gas prices are rediculous. cost me $50.00 to fill my ranger truck the other day. i can sure beat them arabs. the truck is going to sit in the garage alot more now that the weather is breaking. it's 58 degrees out there and i'm getting ready for a late night ride to work. makes work alot more enjoyable. this is the nastiest wettest winter we have had since the 70's. it's supposed to rain the next 5 days so i will have to help the arabs again for awhile. summer is just over the horizen. can't wait.

has anyone out there used harley rails on their 2nd gen i see alot mor harley rails on ebay then venture rails .and if so was there alot of modifing to them to get them to look right ? its one of the last things i want to put on mine

I will finally be able to share some hopefully great pics of our Ventures... we ordered this camera a few days ago and hope to have it in my hands any day now.. we bought a Canon PowerShot S5 IS / 8 megaPixel / 12x Optical zoom / 4x Digital zoom. I may have have to get a degree to use it, but it should do the trick.... We go to alot of Rallys here in Texas and have missed alot of good shots with the junky HP camera that we had, so time will tell.. does any one have one of these that can tell me anything about it??? Ok, I got it installed following Squidley`s instructions, but the Antenna seams to catch alot of wind, any one else have this problem??

well just about ready to go.the weather looks perfect in memphis,got the v-star ready to go ,almost. looking forward to seeing everyone.buy the way who is everyone ? final tally, who all is going? come on folks this will probably be the last big hoorah this year.lets do it for st. jude and lewis who put alot of work into this whole thing. probably going to freeze my butt off, butt,lol ,what the heck. hope to see whole bunches of venture riders there. bill:clap2::clap2:

reamed out the v-star 1300 today,i think it will put the job on my rstd pretty good.surprised the heck out of me.darn thing runs good. had my wife on the back .she said she thought it was alot faster than my rstd.there is a couple of hundred lb.s difference in the two.

With bike in netural and clutch out it rattles alot. When I pull the clutch in it makes alot less noise. Should I be concerned? Though it was a connecting rod bearing or cam but it wasn't. Gene Weir

So how much weight is safe to pull behind an 84 VR? I've seen these Aspen popup campers that are being pulled by mototcycles. I have an old Nimrod Capri that's 12" wider and a couple inches shorter. I was wondering how much of a difference there would be. I don't know how heavy it is but I can slide it side to side by myself when it's hooked to my car. I would thing it would catch alot of sidewinds and cause alot of drag. How heavy is a typical trailer anyway?
