Hey all, I am thinking about trying the Kenda Kruz tires on my 03. I used them on a 04 Suzuki I had and the were great. I know they have had mixed results on the 1st Gen bikes. My question for you all is has anyone used them on a 2nd Gen? Thanks all for your vast store of knowledge.

Does any body have any idea how many 2nd Generation RSV's were actually produced for sale in North America? World Wide? How many are still in service? For being such a dependaple good looking motorcycle I sure don't see many around. Any guesses, facts, opinions? Ross

OK folks, I have a factory Yamaha key for a 2nd gen - it came from a 2007 RSV - guess I forgot to give the 2nd key to the buyer a few years ago! There are a limited number of key codes made, so it is quite possible you might have a bike with the same code: A7772 I have no idea if Yamahaha changed the codes from year to year, but if you have any year 2nd gen, I'd suggest you check your key code just in case it matches (only if you want the key, of course!). I noticed that a company named Hinson makes clutch baskets for numerous motorcycles, including some Yamahas. I wonder if there would be enough business for them to engineer one for the 2nd gens, that might be a better solution to the engine whine than the iffy I-basket from Yamaha? I haven't contacted the compnay, and a quick internet search doesn't find the manufacturer, only resellers....

I want to again thank everyone that came to my meet n eat Saturday. You all made it worth while. I also wanted to let everyone know that we raised $210 in donations for St. Jude. I spoke to Dragonrider and will be sending him a check this week. We had 26 attendees plus ourselves, so that is an awesome amount! Thanks again everyone! Pat and I are already planning a "2nd Annual meet n eat" for next year, especially since our son, Jason, PROMISED to be here for that one. And for those interested...he is doing fine over there. So I just picked up an 83 venture royale and wanted to thank this site for all the info that helped me decide. Over all the bike is in great shape, the only thing that i found that is not working is the The Temp guage.74k I was a little concerned about the 2nd gear problems known in these bikes, but it is at 74k and shows no signs of problems (i ran hard through 2nd gear to see if i could get it to pop out). I have a question about the brakes they seem very weak to me, but i am coming from riding sport standard bikes, for reference it seems to stop slowly, and even applying breaks very hard there is NO way i could lock either tire. anyways here a pic, and i enjoyed my first 250mi on it yesterday. http://www.imagechicken.com/uploads/1274634469037051500.jpg

Venture 1999 to 2010 differences
Guest posted a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I appreciate the responses from all of you about the performance of the 2nd gen Venture in my last question. Unfortunately the 2008 I was looking at was sold before I got it. I found a 2000 that seems to be in very good condition with relatively low miles for cheap. The questions is; are there any differences or changes that were made as the 2nd gen progressed from the beginning to today? Thank You Rich -
Are the headsets on a 1st Gen and a 2nd Gen Interchangable??? I know nothing about them. Was watching ones off a 2002 venture on E-Bay. Spent so much on bikes lately the warden is asking where hers is and I'm still working on garage. But I need to be able to talk to Skid (and others) when we are riding if parts fall off or something:whistling:

I spotted a 2nd Generation in the back of a pickup on I80 in Des Moines yesterday - headed West. I wonder if it was one of our members? There has also been a 2nd Generation running around Colfax - Newton - Baxter area with a smaller bike following - perhaps a child with a permit - any of these people members here?

To see what this 2nd Gens all about, I found out that the 1st gen is easier to work on ,yes this is a total different concept of a scoot But come on they made sure if you are not a bit mechanically inclined you got to bring it to the shop , I like a challenge When I was riding the 1st gen I felt like I was on a sport tourer But with the 2nd gen I always wanted to be a motorcycle cop its nice to imagine when im riding Any ways has anyone try this Mothers FX Synethic Wax Im impressed with the shine with no effect of making it shine
