    Bless you all

    Hey Ken, :happy65:
  2. - - and all that will do is extinguish the cigarette butt. Trust me.
  3. Dave. I'll sort out all of the confusion and crap floating around this thread. Mate - you are a second gen owner. That's all you have to worry about. Forget those other wannabes who live in the past with their first gens. :stirthepot:The term 'dinosaur' keeps springing to mind.
  4. Huh - typical 1st gen comment! :rasberry:yerself.
  5. Hey Ross, Welcome to the best bike site in the world. And I should know, 'cause I live here too! I don't know about an owner's manual but I do have the full workshop manual on CD. If you can't get a hold of one over there and would like it, let me know your address (send me a PM) and I'll send a copy of it to you - all the way from Oz.
  6. Left over? LEFT OVER? Waddya mean "left over"? You mean there were some spare ones that nobody wanted? Why wasn't I told?

Way to go Relic. Must have something to do with the 2004 2nd gen! (Nice bike!)

Hey Don, I finally got myself a PayPal account (had to or I could not trade on eBay) and tonight was finally able to kick the can. Hope it helps. Perhaps there are others out there who like me have previously been unable to donate to the cause and now might like to think about contributing? Thanks again Don, for a great site. This will cover the cost of mailing the Barons risers and the Guardian Bell, and give you some left over for the site. Cheers, Spear
  9. 163.421mph to be exact, but heck - what's .421 when $12,000 is concerned?
  10. Nah Dan! You can miss all that water. You just gotta go the long way 'round.:rotf:
  11. Did you notice that the OIC President said that the Beijing games were only 'exceptional'? Remember this - the Sydney 200 were "the best games yet." That still hasn't been topped and I don't think it will for a loooooong time. (Sorry guys - the Aussie pride coming through!)
  12. Hey guys. You're gonna love this. Haven't been on the bike for at least a month. Been too damned cold and I've had a fair bit of stuff to pick up in town so I've been driving my new Proton ute. (That's a 'pick up' to you.) Anyway, pulled the covers of the old girl, tickled the carbies and fired her up - first go. Sitting there letting her warm up and I can hear this annoying chirping noise. Didn't seem to be coming from any particular part of the engine, and as it warmed up it got louder. I tossed my head from one side of the bike to the other as I sat on it, but couldn't work it out. Damn. Turned the motor off and it was still chirping. SPARROWS IN THE GRAPE VINE AT THE EDGE OF THE SHED. Objected to the noise I was making - obviously. Sheesh!
  13. Ah - you make me smile. Now I know why I just love living in Australia. NO BORDERS!
  14. Ol smokey of the Booze Junkies MC (Hic - wheeeeeze!)
  15. Bit of a habit of mine - Before I shut down after a ride I turn my radio OFF. Then when I start up for my next ride, the first thing I do is turn the key and LISTEN for the ticka-ticka-ticka of the fuel pump. YES! Game on! Radio on. Starter button on. Engine on. I'm gone!
  16. Ooo Eee Mark. That'd hurt. Who put the loose gravel on the damned road anyway? Should be able to sue SOMEBODY! Seriously though, glad you're okay. Bikes can be fixed (or replaced). Cheers.
  17. Ain't it a small world. My younger son works part time as a sound, lighting and stage rigger - and recently rubbed shoulders with Rod at a gig here in Oz. His claim to fame is that Rod asked him where the boys' room was, and he pointed him in the right direction. (Literally not physically!) - - - Yay for Venture Riders - - - !
  18. Hey Bubba. I'll do that - when the weather warms up enough so I'm game to go outside to the bike shed and take the cover off the l'il darling. I'm SURE there is no hazard light switch on my 2004 RSV. My BMW R1150RT had them though.
  19. Man, Don't you feel sorry for the people involved in this horrific crash? Not sure of the figure, but it was a multiple fatality - I heard 8+. http://media.smh.com.au/?category=Breaking%20News&rid=40354
  20. Maybe I'm not reading this right. Are we talking about the Royal Star Venture - or what? If we are, then the Aussie bike is different to the State-side bike. THERE IS NO 4-WAY FLASHER SWITCH ON MY 2004 RSV.
  21. I knew that. Thanks Kent.
  22. I have a feeling my DVD players will handle both. I bought a hard-to-get DVD from the States a couple of years ago and had no problems with it. Nonetheless, I'll check it out at this end. Cheers.
  23. . . . and now that we've worked out what RMS stands for, how about PMP? And what's the difference?
  24. I gather that the * is a substitute for X. In that case the question is: what is 3+4X5? We (should) know that multiplicands and dividers are acted on first. In this case the solution is 3 + (4 X 5) = 3 + 20 = 23. I win (too)!
  25. You got 4-way flashers on a 2006? Are they supposed to be on a 2004 as well?
