I always use the rule of " 5/8 " .... 50 mph = 80 kmh

You're welcome.... to come visit us anytime. We had a great "chit-chat" and quite a few laffs ... lotsa fun! yep, later in the evening the traffic is much thinner on that route.

So, what's really being said here is .... I'd better SLOW DOWN when riding 100 km/h or over!!!

Thinking about selling my 03 RSV What do you think?
SilvrT replied to Whitlow's topic in Watering Hole
That is a gorgeous bike ... didn't you just buy it recently?...and why selling? -
LOL ... now that would be a first..... would be interesting to hear what "potatoe--potatoe--potatoe" sounds like coming out of water bubbles!

heh ... and after all that lime he's still not a bitter person!

Thanks for all the comments guys I haven't sat down and tallied the receipts yet but just from a mental tally, I figgure total investment will come out around $600. That doesn't include the cost of the hitch for the scoot. I replaced all the lights and ran all new wiring, added 3/8 inch plywood to the floor for a bit more strength. The tongue hitch was also damaged a bit so I lengthened the tongue a bit and put a new hitch on. Biggest "single" expense was the paint mostly because ya can't seem to buy thinner and clearcoat/hardener in smaller quantities so I have lots of that left over. I still have a few lights to mount and carpeting in the interior. I'll post final pics once that's done.

Dunno that yet ... but at least it's the same color LOL I haven't licensed the trailer yet nor have I gotten a hitch for the scoot ... that will come early August as we don't plan on using the trailer until September when we go on holidays. I just hope it tows as good as it looks!

One of the main pitfalls of sarcasm "on-line" is that there is no voice tone or body language to determine the underlying intent. That being said, one really has to take it lightly, with a grain of salt, and assume it is in jest. Sometimes a bit of "up-front" sarcasm is a way to feel a person out ... find out their "buttons" so to speak. I'm sure I've taken it the wrong way a time or two but then I look at myself and my own "state of mind" or mood and realize that the way I took the sarcasm was just "my $hit" and I need to deal with it. Few if any folks here intentionally try to be hurtful. Hopefully we can help you find a cure for the popping but in my situation, I'm just living with it coz it's not a bother and I know the bike runs great.

What does your temp gauge read?
SilvrT replied to SilvrT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
actually I was trying to direct more of the engine's hot air towards Nina ... poor thing... she was feelin a bit chilled... (well I had to do something to stop that whine... ) -
There's a lot of that floating around here LOL ... hope you didn't take offense to it... seems to be some kind of "acquired" trait one gets after being on this site for a while.... (speaking for myself of course...)

Those who have added the Water/Volt or Amp/Oil press gauge set to your RSV, what does your temp gauge read under the following conditions... (Bike is all warmed up and you've been riding for a while) During normal hwy cruising on a warm summer day?? During normal hwy cruising on a HOT summer day?? During extended stop & go city traffic on a warm or even hot summer day?? Reason I asked is I noticed mine was hitting the 230 mark while we were backed up in a long, long line traffic as it slowly merged from 3 lanes to 1 in a construction zone last evening... temps outside weren't hot at all ... in fact, Nina was wearing her leather jacket and was mentioning she felt a bit cold not long prior to that. Generally while cruising on a warm day the gauge will read around 215. Granted, these are pretty cheap gauges so no doubt they're not very accurate... but I'm just curious...

I have an '06 with drilled out RK mufflers. I've sync'd the carbs and plugged the AIS but still get popping on decel. Haven't checked for exh leaks yet but neither thing changed the popping. I'm now suspecting it's because I drilled out the RK's so there's very little to no back pressure.

Rick: it was OUR pleasure to enjoy your company and convo! Glad you enjoyed ours too. Thanks for letting me check out your modified seat and backrest. Not so sure the backrest is for me but I will definately be doing some mod on my seat to relieve the pressure on my tailbone. Lookin fwd to seeing you again before you leave if that happens to fit in your schedule. It was pretty funny at the end of our ride last night when you knew where to turn to head off to UBC and I was leading and got mixed up on which intersection to turn at LOL .... well, I think in the 8 or so years I've been living down here, I've taken that route maybe twice which is probably several less than you have LOL.
-
imho .... Both!

That was going to be my next "effort" but, no need now. Dave Insley had one... it's practically new... stock w/s ... not a scratch on it and sitting in my garage.
-
We have a new w/s ... it's on it's way over to me this morning. PM sent to u Rick

hey Gary that's great. True... not "that far" but would be nice if we could find one down here for Rick. If nothing comes up over the weekend, maybe you could ship it down to my place maybe via Greyhound and I can get it over to Rick.
