  1. Received it this evening in today's mail. I should be able to sit down and view it within the week. Vincent, Could you please PM me your address?
  2. Well... We didn't take the bike on our vacation, like we wanted to... But... we did use the G9 as we participated on the Run for the Wall. So... I have a Blackberry Torch. Riding solo: I find that the sound is excellent on my 3/4 helmet, but it depends on the sound source of course. Trying to listen to a podcast above 65 isn't so great, but tunes from Pandora are awesome. A phone call works pretty good too. I like the one button function for a special number (wife), especially when I'm riding to and from working at the out-of-town stores. Riding 2-up: I didn't like that the Blackberry is priority number one, as in phone calls and GPS, in that that priority also becomes the Internet radio of Pandora and Podcasts. Thereby making the intercom chat function priority 2. I found that, the only way of changing my Pandora priority to lower than the intercom chat is by wiring the phone to the aux jack on the side of the G9. Something that I was trying to get away from... the wires. But, if the speakers are placed correctly, the intercom sounded good to me but became somewhat garbled around 70ish. Some of that probably would go away if we both used and closed the visors, but when it's hot out... have no desire to do that much. So... if we ride 2-up, and we want good tunes from Pandora, I'll still just wire the Blackberry into the AUX on the bike and run it through the bike speakers, and keep our intercom open with it's priority. We have never worried about talking on the phone to anyone before while on the ride, and don't need to start that at anytime in the future either. I'm waiting to see if they come up with an adapter to be able to use the G9 with a half helmet like the lesser priced versions. Otherwise, I'd say that the G9 is a good product. Over all
  3. The only time I ever have had a problem with my wife 2-up was once when, staging for a Christmas parade with the PGR. Where they had us was a slight slope, left side downhill. Normally, I leave the kickstand down while she is mounting (the bike). After I get on, and let her get on after me, and get off before me (like that's a duh... But that's another thread) So with the bike leaning a bit more than normal, I had her get off (the bike), and go ahead to where the ground leveled out, then just had to stop there to let her on again. It was a pain, but the slope was just to much for me to straighten her, I, and the bike up. And no, she's not a large woman at all, rather slender.... (for my safety, thought it best to add that...)
  4. And yet, surprised at how many I did know too... lol:beer:
  5. I used Rain-X once, and regret doing so. I have a slight 'crazing' (sp? lol) that WON'T go away even after I polished it with plexiglass polish. I did get a lot of my scratches out, but that that other stuff won't come out. It's not too bad for me to ride into the sun though, but I still regret doing it...
  6. Capitol One abuses their customers! Besides this story, I heard of several instances where one person CALLED in their payment ahead of time, or one MAILED in a whole week ahead of the due date, and Capitol One would 'convieniently' not recieve the payment until just AFTER the due date. Thereby then charging their customer the Late Fees, Sometimes Over the limit fees, and of course, raising the finance charge to the maximum. STAY AWAY from Capital One!
  7. We were honored to be part of the ride this year. As the POW/MIA patch says: "I wasn't there, but I still care". This year we only were able to participate from Grand Prairie, TX, to Longview, TX. Last year we were able to go from Grand Prairie, TX to Monroe, LA. We hope next year to be able to go to Jackson, Mississippi. Ride safe and a huge Thank You to every single Veteran and Military person and their families!
  8. Well, I just received our Scala Rider G9 Bluetooth PowerSet. I've got a bit to learn about it, and rig my wife's helmet so we can check out the Intercom function, but I did Bluetooth my G9 to my Blackberry Torch and listened to Pandora radio on a 30 min ride. So far I'm impressed. The sound quality is pretty darn good, even at speed. I even had to turn down the volume on a song or two, but then also had to turn up the volume (It's a Pandora thing). SOOOOOOoooo much better than my Chatterbox wired set. So, initial thoughts are: worth the cost. I'll give more thoughts as I continue to set our intercom up and we take a trip together.
  9. Prayers are sent up for them both!
  10. Since I still don't have a proper hitch, I made a flag holder out of PVC. Works pretty darn good, even at speed. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=2811
  11. Tim, Like Kirby said, just bring the respect and honor you already have for the soldier and family. Same riding gear. Most of the time, here in East Texas, some will post that they will be at 'so-and -so' place and KSU (Kick stands up) at a certain time, to head to the staging point for the mission. Lots of times those meets are where you can get you a gatorade, water, or small snack for later too. Sometimes, water and snacks may be donated to the mission for you to have. Also, besides the dark sunglasses, bring suntan lotion! and maybe a cap. Ride safe Tim!
  12. I too, took the MSF basic in the '80's. It was so good, I STILL recommend every one to take it. I wish the Advanced was less expensive (like free like our military gets...) Unfortunately, I'm not a Vet and to old to join now...
  13. Hmmmm... what's a 'cassette'.....
  14. BigDawg (and others interested) http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA0790 http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA0740 Thank YOU for your Service!
  15. Hmmmm... good point about the CCW and handgun as opposed to a tattoo... Might just have to re-evaluate things there....
  16. It LOOKS like a good idea, but, what happened when you bump your helmet/head... I'm wondering about those numbs and the red spots too... and how much pressure of the nubs will become irritating on a long ride on the scalp?.... you know how our asses feel after a long ride on padded seats...
  17. We've got right at 32,000 miles on my 2008 Venture. I keep on the bike at all times: A foam tire repair kit with compressed air, Plexus, Microfiber towels, rainsuit, (plus one for the wife added on trips) rain booties, padlock for extra security (key is always with me), several different lengths of bungies, both full and half gloves for me and my wife, kickstand pad, sunglasses over glasses for both of us, some clip-on sunglasses for when we are riding INTO the sun and it's REALLY bright..., rain cover for seat, charger for cell phone, and adapter cord to AUX (we run Pandora for tunes), our PGR windshield banner with small bungies in a ziploc bag, small shammy (to help with morning dew on windshield and stuff) several of those drink powders to add to water, small first aid kit, several hair pony tailers for wife, sun block, packets of hand wipes (never used any so far thought), chap stick, knife, LED flashlight, but then again, I also have one of those organizers that mounts to the top of the trunk... I do have a question for those who have a CCW... how badly is one needed? I've always wondered, and thought it'd be good to get, but in all my years of riding, I've never been in a situation where I wished I would have had one... and the money for both have been an issue for me... I can't even come up with the $300 for the tattoo I've wanted for years... lol
  18. I may hollar at cha and buy my own copy... but after vacation coming up....
  19. May I request that my name be added to that list to view? Thanks,
  20. Maybe try this for another option too? http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplaymultipic.php?name=15``%20Slimline%20LED%20Lightbar I just installed one on my 2008 RSV (just haven't hooked the wiring yet). I just added pictures in my album today too. A WHOLE lot cheaper
