  1. If you can. Remove the wheel and use dishwashing liquid mixture with water. Lay wheel down and fill up the area with soap n water at the rims edge. Let it sit and watch it. If you have a empty spray bottle put a fair amount of soap in it mixing with water and mist the entire wheel/tire and watch. IF if it leaking at the bead it simply is not getting cleaned properly by the repair shop. I repair numerous tires each day and I have yet to have a rim I could not clean and make seal properly. I use a angle grinder (air) with 3" rolox buffing pads. Bead sealers, liquid fixes, none of them work, they are a bandaid. A little care in the cleaning process and some pride in doing it right the first time is all a guy needs. I would find a little service station setting where people still care about their work.
  2. Appreciate the concern, but a little headache either from stress of being hit, or possibly a bump on the sideglass was her only complaint last night. This morning she was fine, kids are fine. They all were properly buckled in and do not have any complaints as of right now. Since it was more of a "glance" and slide vs a straight on lateral impact we sure do not forsee any future medical issues. Her insurance company stressed to us on the phone today the importance of making sure we were all ok. We let him know that "as of right now" there did not appear to be any medical injuries.
  3. Thank you all for the advice. I will keep you posted as this plays out. The hit was pretty severe. Enough that it slid my wife sideways leavcing black marks on a paved highway. I have all intentions of at least consulting with a lawyer on diminished value laws so I better understand them. I am just sick about the whole thing. If it had been totaled I would not have nearly as many issues as driving around and paying for brand new that has been "rebuilt" to brand new.
  4. My biggest fear is trade in in 24 months. I know the dealer said they auto check every trade. It will definetly need extensive repairs. I do not want to take a hit in value due to some lady who simply was not paying attention. If my wife was at fault it would be our baby. But when she is 110% NOT at fault I feel like a total vehicle replcement, or at least compensation for loss of value is justifiable. Sure do not relish the idea of paying on a new "rebuilt" vehicle We bought brand new to avoid previous owner gremlins. Now we have to always wonder if the body work will hold, how much does it take away on re sale, or trade value. .... just a bad situation
  5. Boy ooh boy. We went down to the dealer and bought a brand spanking new Sorento (2011) Saturday 16th. Wife was side swipped tonight Wed 20th. Please see pic below. What do we do ??? I know its value is less now even if it gets fixed to my satisfaction. It was not our fault. Other person was sited with tickets from Mo highway patrol. Never been through this before....It has 400 miles on it. We had custom pinstripe and 6 yr paint protection added http://www.kia-forums.com/images/smilies/sad.gif Body lines do not line up, it is pulling to the right really bad, slight vibration when driving now, neither door opens properly now. Pics do not show the entent of damages. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1d901b3127ccefdfdf7adcdb700000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1d901b3127ccefdfc5bd26ce200000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1d901b3127ccefdfdd6138d8100000030O08AZtmjJo0aOAe3nws/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/
  6. Worst case I mess up my RK pipes and have to find another set. Not a huge deal since they seem to be everywhere on the internet. I have the OEM pipes to fall back on if I mess up too bad LOL
  7. yeah drilled both ends. I am considering taking a die grinder and removing the rear of the pipe. Cut the entire end out and remove ALL internal parts leaving only the one end near the clamp.
  8. Not a problem. I tend to read a lot and I rembered something about that hole. Just went to second Generation section and searched for "steering hole" and it showed up
  9. Yep drilled them and really do NOT like it now It is to "tinnie" sounding. I am convinced a nice "low" note is not going to happen. It sounds like a high pitched popcorn popper now............ Maybe I'll just bolt of the OEM's and forget it I know it needs something in the slip ons because I run it "open pipes" so to speak meaning no slips ons and it sounded horrible like that. Was just wanting to hear the headers by themselves and boy does it sounds like crap.

  11. I had a guy I rode with who always had a flag. He had to extend his up a little bit on his Harley road king for this same reason. His flag would hit his wife.
  12. They are already mounted. I got the pipes as take offs from a RSV so they come with the nice brackets, bolts, and clamps
  13. Snail mail money on the way
  14. IM me a mailing address...........noone can do without food
  15. 65546-98A says meets requirements of 80db limits 65547-98A
  16. If you look inside of mine there are like little triangles facing forward and a bunch of them. Not sure of the purpose but I am wondering if I remove them somehow will I get a better tone. They really do not sound much different them the OEM's.....
  17. you say it moves about 6". You saying it will extend out then lock? Or is there just 6" of slack in the belt? If the retractor is moving enough to let out a few inches of belt then it locks I would say it has debris, a penny, something in it. Only thing I could recommend is gain access to the retractor. Whatever you do be carefull with it. Pulling or prying on things around the retractor makes the assembly not trustworthy. Seatbelts save lives. Nothing to take lightly. I would also no be opposed to trying to park on a heavy incline up or down hill to attempt to release it.

  19. Boy this is the toughest thing I have ever went through, my baby went to the Army a couple weeks ago. I am missing him so badly. How do those of you who have went through this get through it?? I am a mess thinking about him. He is in Ft Benning Army Airborn Infantry. He had been in the junior soldier program and worked to obtain E3 before leaving for bootcamp. I went from having my baby, my son at home to having an empty room. I have had custody of my boys since they were 1 and 2 without a Mother in the picture. When my oldest graduated, entered the workforce and moved on it was tough, but he is still here in town which makes it easier. With my youngest it was like one day here, next day gone. I am sure he is fine. But I have always been there to make sure they were ok. Now I have to trust in my heart things are ok. Nights seem to be the hardest to get through still. I know it wil get easier as time goes by. Prolly just was wanting to vent a little. Thanks for listening to lonely Dad..... Back to your regularly scheduled programming
  20. I went to the website here http://www.barnettclutches.com/products/clutch_plates_springs.aspx?type=clutches_other&clutch_make=Yamaha&clutch_cc=1300 and I must not be finding it, but I cannot find out a price, where or how to order if I choose to??? It seems to be a application guide, not a place to order them
  21. From my research here. The skydoc upgrade along with the PCW spring will help with the issues I feel. For no more $$$ the they both will be it is worth a shot at the very least.
  22. The sky-doc kit is showing being SOLD in classifieds?? Id try it but does not look to be available.
  23. I just find it simply amazing that I can half pull the clutch lever and be totally released. This is the first bike I have owned that I am out on fingertips before it completly engages. I thought I could get used to it, but so far no go.
