    Insurance

That's crazy! But on the flip side I pay $6100 a year for health insurance for a family.
  3. "What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law!" "You som hitches couldn't close up an umbrella!" "When I get home, I'm gonna...... My hero...Buford T Justice
  4. Chief, naturally the wife got it...she started into it before we got out the parking lot! Dragon, I got voluntold that I was going to the Superbowl and Mardi Gras this year and will try to give one of those a try. I was watching Guy on Diners, Drives, & something else go to a bbq joint in the 9th ward (I think) and plan on visiting them too. Love some good bbq!
  5. For those that like King Cakes, we found the best cakes (to us). We've tried several from all parts of La which most are nothing more then a crescent roll or canned cinnamon roll. They're expensive, but worth it. julieannesbakery.com. in Shreveport La.
  6. For those thats been riding Yamaha's since the 80's, did Yamaha have that mentality back then of not making up-grades along the way to just discontinue it as sells dropped off?
  7. I love the old airstream look.....very cool!
  8. Just curious how much weight your carrying? My Tahoe weighs approx. 5900 lbs (me plus my gear) and the V rated Goodyears are rated at 2200 lbs each (8800 lb) at 44 psi. I'm 2900 lbs below their rated capacity. I see what your saying, but to me unless your operating at a vehicles gvwr I wouldn't think running a tire at 35 psi being severely underinflated? Don't get me wrong, I've tried 40 psi on all four and had more premature wear on the rear.
  9. That's great! My wife will graduate in three months at 39 with honors and our oldest in about two years....oh the relief! I feel your joy!
  10. The door sticker is for the oem's. If you changed to a different tire it may have a different psi rating (on the sidewall). Typically they say if the center is wearing more that it indicates over pressure and outer tread wear is from low air pressure. I have a Tahoe which the tires recommend 44 psi @ maximum weight rating. But at 40 psi its wearing the center of the rears and not the front so I run less, 35 psi rear and 40 psi front.

    New bike

I'm just not sold on the chain drive. I had a Yamaha XT350 in the late 80's and seemed I was always having to adjust the tension....hated it compared to shaft and belt drive. I wonder why Honda didn't go with the belt on their new 700 scooter? I can see where a belt could get broken on gravel and dirt roads on the adventure model.
  12. Just wanted to pass this along for those that may be unaware, but Sena has a helmet clamp that you can simply plug in your ear buds versus using the speakers, Sena SMH-A0303 Helmet Clamp Kit for Earbuds. Amazon has it for $34.62 and free shipping. I purchased one last week and after I got it the wife wanted it for her helmet. So, I ordered another one for myself last night. Neither of us particularly cared for the speakers and loved the idea of just having the earbuds plugged in and listening to both, music and being able to talk with the push of a button with sound quality of the earbuds. When the other order comes in and the weather cooperates we will be able to do a road test!
  13. I think it should require a permit and a 40 hour safety course!
  14. My Grandpa said one time that back in those days you didn't get a divorce! Hope that's not the case with you guys. Still awesome and congadulations!
  15. The trucking job will still be there for years to come....I'd take the other offer at the big box co! Which sounded to me was the one you preferred! Congradulations!
  16. Looking at your picture and of the one on Corbin's website, it looks the same. The pics of the one on their site shows the same gap (to me).
  17. Is aviation fuel leaded? Which is bad for catalytic convertors?
  18. Saw on the news today that Elio motors is buying the old GM plant in Shreveport to assemble their trike like car for $6800. Anyone ever heard of these people? Kinda of a novelty looking thing!
  19. Fwiw, from my experience I get the same fuel mileage in my state issued '12 Tahoe and the wife's 08 Edge on both fuels. My '98 Chevy 1500 gets bout 2-3 mpg better on pure gas. My HD maybe 1-2 mpg. But if I add Seafoam its gets as high as 4-5 mpg better. Lawn mower gets 3 mowings per tank on pure gas vs 2 on blended. I didn't get a chance to try the RSTD before it got traded to see difference.
  20. The man that runs our little bulk plant says he has to order the non-ethanol fuel from a distributor in Lake Charles, La which is about 95 miles away. They sell Shell fuel, but their Shell supplier won't sell non-ethanol fuel. So they purchase their 87 octane pure gas from a Conoco plant down the road. He says they can get super unleaded from a closer rack, but their customers wanted the 87 octane so they choose to sell it. Ultimately, its there if stations want to sell it, atleast in our state. I would contact your local bulk plants and see if they have it. Like ours, he doesn't advertise it and sells it for the same price as blended fuel. I know some the regular gas stations that sell it are outrageous on their prices. I would ask where they get it or if you see the truck driver unloading, ask him and see if he will show you his bill of lading. It will show if it's really pure gas or a blend.
  21. It's mixed prior to being loaded into a transport tanker. If you ever get a chance to see their bill of lading it will show however much the blend is like 10% ethanol etc.
  22. I went from a 45 Cal Sig to Glock 40 Cal. I like the additional capacity of carrying two (15 round) magazines and what's in the gun to a total of 46 rounds. Some people prefer the 9 mm, you get a larger capacity, but not sure about the stopping power. I'm not a gun guru, but the Sig I was initially issued had issues of double feeding. The Glock has been flawless. I have two glocks (model 22 and 23, both 40 Cal). For whatever reason the 23 is more accurate, for me. Its a tad smaller than the model 22 with a little shorter barrel. If you have a local police supply store in your area, they usually have a lot of holster options and accessories and the typical police firearms. Fwiw, the ones I've been in don't care if your a civilian or law enforcement, but they carry things you wont find at typical gun stores.
  23. I just wish we had them down here!
  24. I think its awesome you had the courage to do what you did. As they always tell us....it's all in how you articulate why and what you did.
  25. I had an 06 midnight, it had the chrome forks and controls (switches). Other than that, I can't recall any other differences. Seems like there was an S in the model name.
