  1. OK, I just spent an hour and a half working on this. I disconnected and reconnected the large plug under the cover on the fuel tank, still nothing. I disconnected and reconnected the large plug on the rear fender, still nothing. I removed the seat and disconnected and reconnected the plug that sits on the the rear fender under the seat, still nothing. Randy had a ton of wiring done to the bike. There are connectors for MP3 players, Satellite radio and GPS units. I can't help but wonder if one of those connections is interfering with the intercoms function. It's starting to look like a trip to the Yamaha shop will be in my future. Thanks for the help !! but I think I'm giving up.
  2. I haven't removed the seat yet. I'll figure it out. I appreciate all of the feedback. It will probably turn out to be something simple and stupid. I will post my results. Thanks again for all of the help and Thanks for the emails Randy.
  3. Please explain "Mid Wire". I have the short wire that comes from the headset in my helmet that connects to the coiled wire from the bike.
  4. There ya have it. I think that's my problem. I'll try again tonight. THANKS !!
  5. I talked to the front, then talked to the back, then screamed at both sides. Nuttin:thumbdown: Randy wrote me back and told me to be sure that the plug is fully seated. I'll give it another shot tomorrow.
  6. I'm having the same problem (Posted in another section of the board). To be perfectly clear, I turned the "IC" volume up to 20, I turned the rear volume up to "Max", plug in both headsets and talk and I get nothing from either headset. It's getting frustrating. I emailed Randy (Crash), who I bought the bike from, to see if he has any ideas.
  7. OK, I just went back out. I turned the radio volume down and turned the "IC" volume to 20. All I get is a Hiss in the headsets. I get no audio in the opposing headset when speaking into the mic. This is driving me nucking futs
  8. I got my Chatterbox headsets in my helmets but I can't get the intercom to work . I get audio from the radio but when I push either push to talk buttons, Nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what I should look at?
  9. Randy, I hope they can get to the bottom of your problem and get you some help. I'm sure it will happen. When they fix you up and you can ride again just remember 1 thing. Ain't no way you're gettin this bike back. I'm havin too much fun with it I'm keeping you in my thoughts. Grant
  10. Tom, We'll have to hook up for a ride sometime this Spring.
  11. Did you take note of the license plate number? YMH80 It's not a designer plate but it could be. 80 CUI equals roughly 1300 CC's.
  12. Thanks again Randy Made it home about 5:30. First thing on my list? License Plate bracket replacement:crackup:. What a great ride home. I Love this bike.
  13. Thanks for the responses. I'll be heading straight to the Interstate for a 260 mile ride home so the side streets will have to wait but that's good advice, none the less. I'm actually as excited as I am nervous cause my ride on the tour deluxe is what sold me on the Venture. What a ride:256:. I'm just hoping that the Venture is just as Sweet
  14. I'm heading out tomorrow A.M. to pick up my "New to Me" 2005 Venture. I'll be going to Youngstown to see Randy (Crash) and picking her up. I've never ridden a Venture but I have ridden a Tour Deluxe. Is there a lot of difference in handling? I know that the Venture is a bit top heavy and that concerns me a little. I've been riding for over 30 years and I've learned that if your not a little nervous on a new bike there's something wrong. I was just wondering if there was any advice that you guys would give to a "Venture NewB"?
  15. I think his excuse for going out of business won't hold water. Here's a cut and paste from the event organizers: No Events Cancelled -- All Outside the City of Myrtle Beach As many of you have heard or received information on the events being cancelled. Not exactly true - The events will take place in the County and surrounding Counties just not inside of the City of Myrtle Beach. The City of Myrtle Beach has begun a media campaign designed to deter the respectable, law abiding motorcycle enthusiast from coming to the area. There are businesses inside the City limits of Myrtle Beach that do support and welcome Motorcycle Enthusiast. The City of Myrtle Beach can't stop you from visiting and supporting the businesses that support Bike Week. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2009.
  16. I've been a Parts Dept. manager at Ford dealerships since 1983. The 4 cyl. Engine , Not good for towing. The 3.0L fine for towing but terrible fuel mileage. The 4.0L Perfect ! Great towing power and great fuel mileage.
