  1. I took the tips off my BUBs and wire brushed them on my shop grinder and painted them flat black with high temp heat paint. No more problems.
  2. Thanks for the update Rick. Lots of prayers sent from VR for you.
  3. I pray for your quick recovery and that there is no long term damage.
  4. This guy lives Indian, contact him at Mark@IndianMotorcycleCharlotte.com Tell him I sent you.
  5. I too have not met Buddy, but I hope and pray that they find the cause of his suffering. I had the same issues for six months five years ago and after all the tests I passed out twice in my home. After the ER and ICU visits they found a blood clot in my lungs. Hope that the cure is as simple as I had. Prayers up.
  6. Being a farmer of sorts, I will be fixing fences and taking care of livestock (four rescue dogs). I plan on smoking a couple racks of beef ribs on Saturday for the family. No riding planned but I do need to change the oil in Sylvester and clean the K&N air filters and change the final drive fluid. Piece of cake! Love the heat and humidity...not. Fall and winter are coming and that makes me happy.
  7. The RSV uses a five wire system instead of the common four wire system. You will need to install a converter to your bike or as I have done is convert the trailer to a five wire system.
  8. Same reason I will never own a Metzler.
  9. My Yamaha deflectors mount to the front finned side cover with a longer bolt. Work just fine. Mine are chromed billet (I believe). They were given to me by a friend who sold his RSV.
  10. I am looking forward to my children, granddaughter, wife and many friends coming today. I have been up since 3:30 prepping and smoking a 17lb. brisket (my specialty) of course it is Texas style. All you "fathers" relax and enjoy your day, because tomorrow begins 364 days of work and sacrifice for your family.
  11. Choose the largest caliber that you are comfortable with. Auto or wheel gun, it doesn't matter. Become proficient with the weapon and practice often. I have my own range on my farm and I shoot .45 auto and .44 magnum and special. I like .357 magnum but price is high on loads. For maximum protection shoot hollow points and that will reduce the chance of further penetration should you miss the target. Remember that practice only requires a few rounds down range to give you the "it's still on target" feeling.
  12. Yes the 404's are my choice also. I have been running them fo at least 160,000 miles and will continue. I also run the wide white walls.
  13. Carbon One is the only way to go.
  14. I have no problems with the Clearview XL with the front vent. I used to put my shorter screen on in the summer, but now I just use the Clearview throughout the year.
  15. Breaks my heart to see one of my brothers down. I hope that Canadian justice is swift or better yet that the perp falls in a hail of bullets.
  16. Amen to the beer, but you all do a great service to music.
  17. Been there done that. Wife fine but I got a severe bruise on my left calf. Took weeks to heal and I still have a bump where it happened. That was two years ago.
  18. My Sunpro quit two years ago. Decided that Yamaha knows their business and never fixed it. Oil pressure and Volts work well. The capillary cable to the cylinder head is very sensitive to pinch.
  19. You are getting appropriate wear from the D404's. I get a bit more but that is rider style. So why do you want something different? The D404 will give you good service for the price of the tire. They have good grip and rain capabilities. I have run them for 160,000 miles without any issues. I did have issues with Metzler's with separated treads and Bridgestones due to poor rain handling. Once with the D404, I determined that if I had no problems I would stay with them. I do change my own tires and use Dyna Beads for balance. Enjoy the ride.
  20. What about the front drive scooter?
  21. Thanks to all for the information. I know that Hannigan is the one to own, but the price is heavy. Still looking but the steering issue is still an important point.
  22. And if you want a wealth of information beyond anything else, join the site. Twelve bucks is dirt cheap and you can do all your maintenance based on this site, with good instructions.
  23. Rebuild the calipers, they are stuck.
  24. Cowpuc, your the man. I have seen several WL's at events for the military. Some had Thompsons and a couple had M1Garands. I saw one at Rolling Thunder with a side car and .50 cal. Browning. Keep that relic as long as you can. It is a piece of history that can't be replaced.
