  1. The stock seat leaves a lot to desire for most. I had the upholstery removed and a gel pad inserted and recovered. That ended my butt problem. I have the Clearview XL with vent and works great. All 1999 to 2013 had wind deflectors. If you lower the front the handling will worsen. The bars from the RSTD worked great on my RSMV and are very comfortable for me.
  2. Wonderful award to a wonderful group, wish I bought more at the auction. Maybe next year.
  3. All I remember is the complaints due to skipping.
  4. Same thing I did. I guess that is a "ditto". Sure miss Ponch. Is anyone else doing the gauge set up?
  5. You can polish the OEM board to near chrome appearance with very little effort. See Mothers or Meguiar's for the product.
  6. I am also happy with the leveling links I installed ten years ago. Makes me feel younger.
  7. Why would I want another 02 RSMV, I only have 191,000 miles on Sylvester?
  8. I carry liquid wax and apply when the sun reflects into my eyes and all it take is a wipe to clean it off.
  9. As I predicted, the new Scout is out with a 69 ci water cooled motor and 100 hp. Nice looking ride and under the price of a Sportster. Go it Indian.com to see it.
  10. Yep, the all new 100 hp. Indian Scout. That is what all the Indian lovers were hoping for and they got a nice looking 69 ci. machine from Polaris. Harley, watch your back.
  11. I was told this afternoon to watch the Sturgis event tonight around 11:00 PM EST. There would be a new Indian unveiled. This was by the local Indian/Victory dealer staff.
  12. Are you talking about the spears on either side if the fairing? If so use dental floss or fishing line to saw under the spears to remove. Then you can use Goo Off to clean the residue.
  13. I am thinking an Indian Scout for a new entry, probably 750-1000 cc"s.
  14. Sheesh, all I said was that it was fast. If you don't like Indian, that is OK with me. Buy what you like. Victory is a great line. For me I will stay with my "Sylvester" till death or total separate us.
  15. That looks like a good one, Mike. I don't use one since the one I used to use flaked out, but I like that one you bought. Let me know if you are up this way again.
  16. I am not going to talk about the Indian style or price, but I rode with my friend this afternoon and he has a 2014 Chieftain. All I can say is that machine is fast. He left Sylvester and ran away from him. I was hitting 7k rpm and he kept increasing the distance between us. I shut down north of 100 mph.
  17. Thanks Jeff, what should I use. I believe that the H-4 I have is 5000k, but it doesn't show well on the road. The pass lights are much whiter but are only H-3 and newer.
  18. I have Sylvania Silverstar in my Adjure headlight, I think a replacement is due since it has been in since 2008. I thought I read somewhere here that there is a 6000k H-4 bulb. Anyone know about this and what brand it is. My 68 year old eyes need more for those rare night rides.
  19. Thanks, you are great.
  20. What was the official color of the midnight BLACK paint on my 02 Venture. I want to order rattle cans of it from Duplicolor? I really appreciate the information and thank you all.
  21. I use dyna beads whenever I change a tire. 2 oz. per tire and never an issue.
  22. Same with my 02 RSMV, never had any issues either after 180,000 plus miles, but I maintain this bike meticulously.
  23. All of these posts mean nothing since next year or two there will be something faster. It is the evolution of speed.
  24. All a matter of opinion. I had the Butt Buffer installed under the stock vinyl seat cover in 2002 at The Honda Hoot and never looked back. In 2012 the Butt Buffer was feeling the weight of my butt for so long it gave out. I then had the seats redone with thicker gel pad and brown saddle leather. This should last the rest of my riding life since I will never sell Sylvester.
