  1. Barons makes a tach and a mount to put on your master cylinder. J&P Cycles sells them and other places also. I have one on my 02 RSMV and have never had any issues in ten years. You may want to go to Barons and look at them.
  2. I have a complete wheel, bearings and rotor off an 06 RSV. Very low mileage.
  3. I have 180,000+ miles on my 02 RSMV and have had the front forks drained and changed twice. I also have the Barons gold emulators installed. I for one can tell when they need service since the steering and ride change greatly.
  4. 76 here in good old North Carolina and the plants in my garden are pushing up. Love the south country. And to think that I am from the Great State of Nebraska. I will never go back other than to visit.
  5. A buddy of mine has one just like it. Good color.
  6. Why not both, they are close together? And spend the evening in Murphy, NC.
  7. The police departments liked the foot clutch for the ability to get off the bike quickly. I had a 62 Duo Glide w/foot clutch and tank shift that was bought at a police auction. They kept that jockey shift into the late 60's and maybe later.
  8. It is hard for me to believe your friend is getting above 20 mpg. I have a 2012 6.7 turbo with 373 rear. I have gotten over 20 on occasion. He may have spent money to put a chip and other things in it...but 25 mpg?
  9. At least it is electric start. I bought a 62 Duo Glide in 1970 from the Omaha Ne police auction. Had jockey shift and all the police stuff less the radio but still had the Omaha police decals. I kept it until about 2000 and road it in parades etc. Still had the red lights and fender mounted siren and they worked. It got to where it was so hard to kick over that I gave up and sold it.
  10. I for one will not mourn his death, but I will continue support for the PGR so that his kind will not soil any of our Service or First Responders passing.
  11. Go with the Clearview XL windscreen. My wife loves it. I like to put on my 16" screen for solo riding and I forgot to change to the XL before we went for a ride. I will never forget that again.
  12. I also have a XS Eleven and ride it infrequently. Good condition with 25,ooo on the clock. I am also a member on the XS forum. Welcome to VentureRiders.org.
  13. You are right about shootings daily in Charlotte, but they are not legal firearm owners. Actually they are firearm stealers and drug dealers.
  14. Who are you all talking about? :whistling::whistling:
  15. It was very nice yesterday and I took Sylvester out for a bit and then took my XS ELEVEN out also. Always gives me a thrill to crank on the eleven.
  16. Just about the same for North Carolina except for Asheville, Raleigh and downtown Charlotte.
  17. I like them.
  18. Who really needs to know this? A tachometer solves all these issues much cheaper than a gear gauge/lights/indicator.
  19. Do not use a ft/lb torque wrench. Not accurate that low a torque. Should use an in/lb torque wrench at about 76 in/lb. It is possible that you stretched the bolts.
  20. And now they make a tour trunk for the Chieftain.
  21. Funny you mentioned .22 ammo, I paid nearly 60bucks on line for a brick and then a week later bought a brick at Gander Mountain for $24.89. Go figure.
  22. Yes, but the guilt and shame the driver will carry the rest of his life and the civil litigation that he will endure is something I wouldn't want.
  23. I have not installed the auto clutch but a good friend of mine has had one in his 05 RSV since new. He has some muscle issues, but this has allowed him to ride all these years without issues. The concept is real like a centrifugal clutch and it engages solidly. I would put it on my bike when the time comes.
  24. Try this http://www.efmautoclutch.com/ It is highly recommended and works great.
