Had one on my VTX. No plans to buy another one. Way too stiff for me even after several thousand miles so it was plenty broke in. Always read mixed reviews on the Mustangs, even worse on the Corbins. Never read a bad review about an Ultimate seat. Right now stocker is plenty comfy for me. I am going on a big trip in July so we shall see how well it holds up. Does pretty well riding around the state.

The one I think you are thinking of is where someone put in a proportioning valve in the rear line. aka the Butler Mod. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13098 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2940

antenna question
Sideoftheroad replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Steve, I think you need to take them back to skool. The shop manager was trying to tell me that the carbs needed cleaning. I asked which ones and she said both of them. Uh, no thanks. This was also after a couple months of having used Seafoam. Had they synched the carbs properly I don't think they would have recommended it. They were close but still no cigar. -
Anyone have a Roadmate 2200T or Crossover 2500T? Opinions? Thanks Jerry.

"Jackson was already out of work and on disability because of a back injury." And they wonder why insurance premiums are so high already. Betcha if the insurance company or maybe even worker's comp gets ahold of this, they will sue for payments received if the lady is receiving disability benefits. On disability means you ain't riding bikes. If you can ride a bike, you can work even in a limited capacity.

Bob, He recently put it on the STAR swap shop. He like many others have had a hard time w/ the economy and all. Kevin, I think he will be around. The Indy STAR chapter just paid for another year for him. He reminds me alot of my own brother and always glad to see him. I was thinking with your bike being newer if you sold it, you would come out ahead by buying Bubba's older bike (your bike is worth more on paper). I just saw the description of painting it orange and white and hadn't actually seen any of the pics yet. With that description I just thought, sounded alot like Bubba's bike so might as well buy his and save time/effort. For me things are always harder to visualize what it will look like until it is all put together. So for now will have to be in suspense until its' done and all put together. Nothing wrong w/ being different.

I can't see any pics if you have posted any of what you have painted so far, but why don't you sell your bike and buy Bubba's. Almost sounds like the colors on his bike is what you are already painting. Probably come out w/ some $$$ in your pocket.

So you think your Yammi dealer is clueless?

Yeah. Nothing like being told from a Yamaha service manager that BOTH carbs need cleaned. Uh. No thanks. Besides poured an entire bottle of seafoam into at the beginning of the riding season. Took it to a friend of mine that knows what he was doing towards the end of the season. Carb Tuned it. It was close but once it was spot on, ran like a champ. -
Saw it on Valentines day too in 3D (not IMAX). I was the only person in the theatre and this was at like 6:30 pm. Made the experience better IMO w/ no one there. No one to distract me from watching it (talking, cell phones, etc...). I didn't get the feeling of things jumping out at you and such. Only one scene where I thought something coming out of the screen where a weapon was being moved from side to side in one of the battle sequences. I did think the subtitles were like floating in the air. Still got a 3d effect throughout the movie. It was pretty cool. Yes plot predictible, but didn't care. I was a good movie.

For being in daylight or at least dusk, very bright lights. Yup. Need link.

Holy smokes Bob. Those dogs are huge. And aren't they like a year old now? We are expecting also in about 4 weeks. Purebred female yellow lab. If I had a micro sd adapter I would post some pics of her. Getting her from my niece's dogs litter in between my and my daughter's b-day.

After about a 2-3 week search found my old multimeter. It was in a place where I had looked many times before but it was under something apparently that I didn't look under. This is still good info. to keep for future reference.

I doubt a fluke is going to be what I need. Would be great to have to learn something new but more indepth than what I would currently be using it for. Be more general like what the harbour freight model would be offering. I know my dad has something. I will have to see what he has. All I know is has a needle, it's kinda bulky and sits in a plastic box. He is an EE so you know it gotta be pretty good. Overall wish I could find my old meter.

Thinking $150-$200 myself would be price appropriate for that model. Had a TomTom for about 3 days, it stopped working after I plugged into the computer, returned it and got my money back. Honestly with the low end models TomTom has, they are thinking more of budget minded folks. But also seems like you get what you pay for.

As much as I was rooting for the Colts here is my take on it. Last 5 minutes 30 seconds, I just didn't see a sense of urgency like they wanted to win. At that point I would have expected to see hurry up offense. Instead they were straggling up to the line like they had another 30 minutes to play. I know they are known for clock management and keeping their cool, but that was a bit extreme if that is what they were trying to do. So either they were trying to stick to clock management and it backfired or they just gave up trying to win. Here is the scenario I would imagine: 5 min. 30 seconds to play, hurry up offense and long bombs down the field. Touchdown. Onside kick recovered by Colts. Hurry up offense and long bombs down the field. Touchdown. Clock runs out and Colts win. Like I said, just seems like they gave up. Also I just saw a very quick glimpse of the 1/2 time onside kick. I could of sworn I saw the ball go right through his hands and he didn't touch it. Dunno know, anyone watch the replay again? Great play decision for the Saints to do an onside kick to start the 1/2. You could definetly tell it caught all of them offguard. Also can't expect to win a game when you let the opposing team gain 7-8 yards on every play.

hmmm. Bought an RSV from Dreyer, whose previous owner traded it in for a Harley. Sounds familiar. LOL. Bought my '99 the same way. If Dreyer did the service, they have the info. Might dig around under the trunk and bag mats for any paperwork they might have missed. Could be info. in the manual as well. If Dreyer can tell you which Harley store (most likely Southside), the harley shop might even tell you who the previous owner was. Not sure if anyone from STAR Indy chapter 144 traded it but I just put a post on the Indiana forum to see. I am suprised they sold it on the Honda side.

Baron Tach and Ponch's gauge set
Sideoftheroad replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I guess that's my thing, is I don't see a need for oil or temp on these scoots. Contemplating about a 2 hole plate for volt or amp and tach. Or might do a 3 hole plate for volt, amp, and tach w/ Ponch's new plate he posted above.- 51 replies

What's a good multimeter these days? Is there a better instrument than a multimeter? Prefer a digital readout. I had one and have been looking for it for a couple weeks now. I know where I usually keep it and where I had it last, but seems to have gotten up and crawled away.
-
Would there be any advantage to having both a volt and amp gauge? If not, which would be better to have?

Did it in '07 when I had my VTX. Gotta say I was disappointed. Planning on being back there in July as part of STAR Days. Will see if my experience will be any different.
