I hope you have the nomenclature wrong, and are really meaning the valve cover bolts. If the head bolts are loose enough to cause an oil leak, you gots bigger problems. Now the valve cover bolts are a shoulder bolt, so they only got to: tight, you can't snug them up any more than tight or you will snap them off, so be careful.

It's a phigmond of your imaginermiration. The trailer was there, the bike needed a place to rest, it looked better at a higher elevation, and the straps just added color. Happy now?

Not that Carl is aware of, but it is available at times for repair and maintenance. NO! I didn't say storage, just so you get the picture almost right. It gets kind of busy in here sometimes, sometimes that is due to things that need doing (bikes and related), sometimes units have 4 wheels, and sometimes my Missus requires the cutting and reformatting of wood products (don't know why I ever bought a saw),,,,, and then sometimes it's just got to do with being retired and not a 'round to it" I'm thinking to buy a new tool, (my last one broke somewhere and the shims never came back) and some shims that can be used on this side of the border, more specifically in Brantford, if you will. I'm thinking on it.

Shouldn't be anything to it. I've had a number of them off and on, but always with the engine upside down, although I don't suggest you do that.

You be heading in my way of things @cowpuc. Glad you posted your thoughts. -
Yep, I liked that as well. But now when I click on the title of the thread it sends me to the next post after the last one I viewed, I liken that.

Can you post pictures of the heads and the crankcase surfaces? Where did you pour the gas into what? Seeped through where? How do you know the valves are not seating? Thinking that you probably though we could figure this out, but the questions are getting to become expensive, so the answers will have to match up to the questions. -
Yep,, sounds like a fun idear.

What be your problem??? What might be so difficult with points,, I can understand your difficulty with mm (millimeters for short), those things are so small one needs an extra pair of glasses to count them proper,,, but really!!! I kind of thought,,, everybody,,,, so like all people,,, could understand and count points.

Seeing as @Freebird is taking some well deserved time away, I will answer that question. And seeing as we seem to get along so well, I will go the extra mile for yah. So here is what happened,, and I thought you would be most interested in knowing. I added 20 points to your score. There was a slight hitch though,, seems that this new forum will only allow so many points to be awarded, but I got around that,,,, me smart eh?! So this is what transpired: I tried to add the 20 points, but seeing as that wasn't possible (seems all the available points were taken) I removed 30 points so that there was room for the 20 new ones. In my math that now makes 50 points exchanged,,,, don't bow down that deep, just a slight nod of the head will be sufficient!

Nice!!! Marca would be envious!! Me,, can take it or leave it,, I find water kind of wet when you fall in. Enjoy your time together. Getting away is sometimes the only way to get together.

Thanks Earl, for just being you. You are what I think a lot if not all of us inspire to be. You is a great example of generosity, caring, and guidance.

On sale in Ontario as well, $7 something a can.

Nice. So if you have that many K on the clock and you have second gear, my guess is that 2nd gear has been fixed, hence the 2 punch marks. Secondgear usually goes out around the 60 to 80k km and you are a long ways over that.

@saddlebum,,, sir you need to be corrected, I did not but those crimpy things at Walmart, I got them from Home Hardware, and yes I always considered them to be cheap and didn't do the job as a good tool would. Mighty happy to be the inheritor of your old crimp tool, even though I had to get the rheumatism out of it, but since then, I closely guard it's whereabouts, especially when you are around. Funny how a feller never has enough time to go get the proper tool when it's needed and can never remember to get one when he's at the store eh?

Last time mowing coming up soon. Gonna be warm next few days so hopefully all the leaves will be down and dry. One more time and then the mower gets exchanged with the blower, and that needs to be tuned. Lovely changing of the seasons, can't find a better place to live.

I had to give this some thought, and had to re-read what it was that was posted. I think it could be two-fold. One is that politics has no place here, and it would not be hard to inject some political thoughts into the discussion and hence delete this whole thread. I do have to compliment those involved, on staying mostly out of that arena, although I bet there may have been some erasing done before posting. Two, would the discussion on how the whole Covid situation is being dealt with, or not, what effect it has, or has not, how it might or might not have an effect on the lives of humans. This could also get political very quickly but maybe more importantly was leading to 'direct debating' , if I may call it that. That is the prime reason for my suggestion to 'address the chair', if for no other reason that to keep us away from biting at each other. Three,, I know, I said two, but I couldn't possibly keep this short,,, eh @saddlebum. Folks on North side of the border have the opportunity to watch what's going on with your side. We are not actually involved, we don't have to live with the consequences as you do. I didn't say it doesn't effect us, it will somehow, but we have no real say in the matter, so it's a different ball game for us. We get our info by the News and what ever else we decide to watch or listen to. As with all reporting, there is a slant and we will remember more easily the slant that supports our own thinking rather than any slants that do not. Personally, I do not envy the decision that Americans have/had to make. Sure is good to know that there is a Power that overlooks all this, and that nothing can happen without His knowledge.

If I might be so bold as to speak for somebody else??????? I got me a feeling that words may have been produced and typed out that would cause the penalty box door to open, and that was not what the author was looking for as a result. And should that have happened ,, well,,,,,, POOF!
