  1. New Seats!!!! Stockers are brutal. I have the Ultimate seat set up and highly recommend them, headlight modulator, brake light modulator, swap out the brake light bulb with the custom dynamics led board, driving lights, saddle bag rails, billet chrome lowers, horn upgrade, fender rack(looks so cool when you go solo seat),chrome oil cap , custom reservoir covers that say Royal Star on the clutch cover and Tour Deluxe on the brake cover...............oh wait that's my bike LOL:rotf:
  2. I would definitely offer what help I could, tools, cell phone whatever. Never know when the favor might be needed, besides aiding HD guys (how many metrics have you actually seen broke down LOL) is always a good beer drinking topic,
  3. here's a link to the story: http://www.thestar.com/News/Ontario/article/310015 I personally don't think the courts should waste anymore of our TAX money on this issue. Motorcycling is not a right, is not a necessity and is not guaranteed by the Charter. To ride a motorcycle you must have a drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement, another privelege not a right, and you must follow the traffic laws or risk revocation of your license. Simple (at least to me) you don't want to follow the laws, I revoke your license, now you don't have to worry about having your religious freedoms trampled by having to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle instead of the turban. Perhaps a simplistic view but I too am tired of the vocal minority being catered to because our politicians haven't the nerve to speak up for fear of appearing bigotted and therby losing the ethnic vote when up for re-election. Can't jeopardize that indexed pension don't you know.
  4. Only things that I can think of that are different on my 05 is the detachable windshield, cruise control and hard bags. Might be some other stuff but I don't know what it is.
  5. I did that mod the first year I got the bike. I mounted everything in the space around the battery, tapped into the turn signal wires near the frame on the gear shift side of the bike and drilled through the plastic support on the back side and mounted the toggle switch so that all I have to do is reach behind the seat and flip the switch. I think the switch you need is a dpst, double pole single throw. One suggestion, mount the switch on whichever side is opposite to your dominant hand since you may be moving when you need to activate it and you would want to maintain control. Actually got the info from the roadstar rider forum on Delphi and I think there was also diagrams.
  6. Animal: Heads up for ya.:whistling: Might want to re-check your calendar, the Canadian calendar I'm looking at says March 6 is a Thursday, unless of course you are planning next years get together.
  7. Just an FYI for my fellow CDN compadres. Princess Auto, if you have one in your area, has a motorcyle dolly for $88.00 . It is the one that was the extension for the kickstand built in. Simply ride on, drop the kickstand, hop off and wheel your baby anywhere you want in the garage. It's on pg.46 of there flyer with the sale date starting Dec.11 Ad states that it has a 1250 lb capacity. I first saw this set up a few years back at a bike show and if I recall correctly they were priced in the $300 range. Can't vouch for the quality though, if you know Princess auto then you understand what I am saying. Might make a good stocking stuffer:rotf: Cheers Wayne
  8. Just finished mounting a bat wing fairing outer to my RSTD (that I got from a fellow out in Calgary)and a radio caddy, using the brackets that I have for sale(plug ). Just need to finish some minor road rash repair and have it painted. I now can go no windshield, stock windshield, shorty windshield or bat wing with the radio. Suspect the majority of the time it will be bat wing cause I do like having the tunes going down the road . Haven't noticed any huge differences in handling at slow or high speed. Bike is just as stable with the fairing as it is with the stock shield IMHO.
  9. Here's another option for you, www.tinytach.com Basically wrap the lead around a spark plug wire and attach the ground wire and away you go. There is about a 1/2 second lag between a throttle blip and a reading change.
  10. Reiny: Sorry to hear of your brothers assault. That was bad but it could have been worse. If this jerk was ballsy enough to come in when he heard your brother yelling ( I am assuming he yelled out), then you are probably lucky your sister-inlaw and niece weren't there, shudder to even think what that might have led to.Hopefully the PD will be able to lay their hands on the guy and he gets what he has earned. I hope your brother and his family recover from this. Sad to say but this ain't the Canada we grew up with anymore.
  11. Funny you should mention that, I have a outer fairing and a radio caddy that I am planning on mating up and putting on my TD. Should be a fun winter (can't believe I said that) project.
  12. Bill: I have the ultimate seat set up on my TD and like it very much. If you want some pics of what it will look like( assuming you have the real fast red/black combo lol) send me an email and I'll fire some your way. Did a 4500 km trip this summer on the seats with no complaints. The driver backrest makes a huge difference compared to riding without it. Cheers Wayne
  13. I have the ultimate seat set from www.ultimateseats.ca on my 05 RStd. I like them very much. Did a trip to Myrtle Beach, then went over and rode the Dragon again before heading back home. Total of about 4500 kms. Never had an issue with back pain or numb butt. Des makes a very nice seat and I would recommend them. Might want to give them a look.
  14. elatively cheap alternative would be to pick up a leather belly bag at a flea market. You know the ones with the straps that go around your waist. Cut off the straps , velcro on the back and a piece on the inside of the trunk lid and voila, a zippered carrier that will hold your wallett, a map whatever. I cut the straps off the one I picked up , sewed some rare earth magnets into where the straps were and stuck it on the gas tank on my trip down south. Held my passport, wallet mp3 player etcclose to hand and it didn't move an inch at 70 - 75 mph. Total cost about 8 bucks CDN.
