Keith, I skipped it. The trailer is all LED.

Some way, some how my lower left Cowling has developed a crack, and now that crack has spread and the cowling is now split and worthless. So I need to replace it. Be nice if I could find a used one that would match the existing paint on my Titanium/Grey '99 RSV. So anyone know of a good place to get one? Has one to sell? Please contact me, thanks!

I would like a pair of your Scooter Hooters!!

Yes siree .

These are the ones I happen to purchase as well. They sound excellent! And they are marine grade, so they are weatherproof.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking as well. I hate having to tap into the existing wires and potentially creating a "weak-link" in the existing harness. When I was wiring my trailer, I wanted to find the male female plastic connectors for our bikes so I could create a small sub-harness to use for any additional wiring and not affect the existing wires integrity.

I have a buddy of mine who bought a used '99 RSV. The previous owner had some custom stencil paint stuff done to it on the trunk, his and his wife's names, and since the new owner, my buddy, does not have the same names as the previuos owner, we need to take it off. The rumor, we read somewhere, is you can use easy-off oven stuff to remove the paint without hurting the original paint underneath. So is this true? Is there way? What other methods might work. Th trick here is to remove the newer paint and leave the original paint untouched and unharmed. Any ideas, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

NICE! Clean looking 1st Gen!

I like this one too !

I like this one! Great idea, definitely in the right direction! Another idea I was thinking you could take GrayGhost's idea and put the USA stripes/stars etc as the filler content of the maple leaf instead of red, and keep the words. Just another idea.

Hey Folks - just a friendly reminder... I see that we are starting to get more picts e-mailed - THAT IS GREAT!!! KEEP EM COMING!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY: I have created a central posting area on a flickr.com account for everyone to send their photos to. This gives us a central area to look at all submissions and for the judges to post their picks. PLEASE READ - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: 1. You can send as many images as you would like, BUT you can ONLY send one image at a time per e-mail. So, for example, if you have 3 images you WILL need to send 3 separate e-mails, each e-mail containing one of the 3 images. 2. Use the subject line for your real name/screen name and the body of the e-mail to add a description of the photo - who, what, where, when. If there is no name - we WILL delete the photo. 3. REMEMBER - the higher the resolution the better, we need BIG pictures, well exposed, NOT blurry, in focus, better to see the bikes AND their owners - or people and bikes, but just bikes is fine as well. 4. If you HAVE ANY questions - PLEASE ask. 5. send your photos to word49while@photos.flickr.com and PLEASE CC cnont@sbcglobal.netgdb@arteflorum.comchristo66@comcast.net Thanks!

No, you do not need to resend.

Whats The Best Oil?
Christo replied to yamahamer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have a set and I love them. I know that they did have some problems, but so far I have about 3K miles and no signs of any defects yet.- 25 replies

Avons, Metzler, Dunlop, Bridgestones The order of best to worst varies by opinion. Personally, I would stick with the Avons or the Metzlers.- 25 replies

Thanks Freebird! I will experiment and see what I can come up with for an inline harness.
-
Thanks, but this is a converter & isolator. I am just looking for an isolator, and I am still wondering if it is necessary to even bother with an isolator.
-
I get an error, can't get to the link.... will keep trying, thanks Freebird!

Anyone know of a source where we could purchase the male and female plastic connectors that are found under the seats for the rear to front wiring harness? I am thinking about making an inline harness for trailer hook-ups. Anyone want to help me in my quest?

Ok, I am waiting on my cargo trailer: See picts. It is currently a 4 wire. I am going to add amber LED 6" oval turns to it, since it originally comes with only red LED 6" ovals for the rear. I will wire these up and add them to the existing wiring set up. I bought a Khrome Werks receiver hitch for my '99 RSV. It comes with a round 5 wire hook up. I have replaced my signals/turns, brake lights, and running lights, with LED's from custom dynamics. So the only incandescent bulbs on my bike are the head light and the driving lights. My questions: 1. Do I need an isolator? If the trailer and the bike are primarily LED. 2. If I do need an isolator, which one should i get? I was able to find these three, are there more? Out of these, which one is best? Why? http://www.motoleather.com/untrisha1.html http://electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns-trailer.htm http://www.wingworx.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=176 3. Are there inline adapters for adding trailer wiring for the RSV's? I saw some for the 1800 GW's and for HD's. Any additional thoughts, feedback, suggestions? TIA for all your help and advice.
