  1. I picked up one of these a little while ago and though I'd let yall take a peek at the performance. They sell for about $200 with all the mounting equipment, although I built a custom RAM-Mount setup to make it a little more rigid yet non-permanent like . And I kinda like the wide angle lens, gives you a good view of the road. This was filmed using a reservoir mount and was on a quick jaunt to wally world. On a side note...from my experience, they have excellent customer service. My first camera had a rattle from the view finder being loose. Once I told them what it was doing, they informed me of the "glitch" and requested I send it back to them. Without question, they supplied me with a new camera that works like a champ (hence the video above). The manufacturer's site is here, for those interested...
  2. I need help finding a maxxis 150/90-15 WWW. It seems that they quit making them and can find the front, but not a rear in WWW. If you know of another WIDE WWW, I'd for sure check them out. I know that I can get Dunlop 404 WWW but they aren't as wide, and I want a WIDE-WWW. If I have to, I'll get the dunlops. Thanks, Steve
  3. Fellow RSTD'ers. As some of you know I laid my 07 RSTD (only 3 months old) - down a while back It was a sad day indeed. Wife just had surgery last week to mend her broken finger and repair a nerve. Other than that only cuts and bruises. I traded my skinned-up RSTD on a Stratoline "S" model and have some parts that I no longer need and would like to sell. Need some "goodies" for the liner. I have a couple of these in the classifieds, but a lot of folks just don't look in there. Here is a brief list and prices OBO: Baron's 4-2-4's - perfect condition - $300.00 SOLD HD Fairing - SOLD to Mountianhorsega Pair of chrime wide muffler clamps - Will throw them in if you buy the mufflers. SOLD Full set of Mustang seats - wide touring and studded - about 3 weeks old - $500.00 Utopia backrest used about a week before going to the Mustangs - Will have to check my invoice for price... SOLD I am sure I have other stuff - but that is a start.... Thanks, Shep
  4. I'm sure everyone has really missed me on the site lately. Well maybe not. Anyway, it's day eight without any electricity which means no heat and no lights in N.E. Arkansas. Prospect isn't good for the next few days either. I just wanted you all to think about me as you sit in your warm living rooms, watching your wide screen T.V.'s, and snacking on junk food. But I have food, a steady job, roof over my head, and INSULATED overalls. What more do I need.
  5. I am frustrated with the seating on my 05 RSTD that I am considering an after market with a drivers back rest. I'm 6' 2" with and inseam of 33. I've read that these mustangs push you forward and up a bit. My handlebars almost touch my knees on a turn but I'm supposing I can uplift the handlebars an inch or so. Any experince with Mustang vintage wide with a driver backrest Thanks in advance Nevada Max

Need to find a place i can find Big Boots for riding they got to be at lease 14 EEEE Real Wide. Help.
  7. Ladies and gents: I have seen several recommendation here on the forum regarding the wide chrome muffler clamps. The clamps that Baron's gave me for my 4-2-4's are a best just "OK". And they are not wide enough to cover the slits in the slip-ons. The links provided (I have tried several) are no longer any good. But here is my real question, "Do those things have a 'lip' on them? It would seem to me if they do that it would have to be ground down to completely slip over the 4-2-4's. Any help is appreciated. Shep OK - more searching and I found the answer: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26489
  8. A few months ago I ordered a set of Barons Bag Slash for my '08 RSTD. I enjoy the sound of them I'm only having one problem. When they shipped the pipes to me they sent the wrong size exhaust clamps. They were stainless and not big enough to cover the gap where the slip on ends and the bare pipe below shows. I called them and they said they would ship the clamps to me. After waiting 2 months the clamps arrived they are the right diameter just still way to narrow to cover the gap. I'm tired of dealing with them. I have a friend with a 04 Venture and his pipes came with some wide chrom clamps. Does anyone know where I can get a set of the wide chorme exhaust clamps. Thanks to all!
  9. last month my 84 Venture sat for about 2 weeks. Apparently she was lonely and to show me she started dripping oil @ the seal of the right shock. Just a small leak so I kept riding. Well she didn't like having to sit again for another 2 weeks, so this time she dumps a puddle of oil about 6" inches wide from the front wheel to the rear. How is it that it can leak "up" while just sitting in the garage? Thanks in advance
  10. Hello all, Well I've come to a couple conclusions here: 1. Trigger needs needs some new tires, and 2. I want Wide Whitewalls. (www) 3. I would like those new tires to be either Avon or the Michelins. HOWEVER...i'm having trouble locating WWW tires of any brand. So, i was wondering if those of you out there might be able to suggest where i might be able to acquire such tires. [please no Dunlaps...that's what's coming off and i doubt that i'll ever go back to them] many thanks Ron

  13. Decided I need the chrome wide clamps. Anybody got a good place to get a great price on them? Thanks. Edit: Ordered from Rick at Buckeye today.
  14. The wife agrees, we're gonna spend our free tax money on a Piggy Back! I think we wil enjoy that more than a wide screen TV...
  15. I want to replace my Turn/Tail/brake lights with LED lights and keep the Red/Amber covers. I ran across these and was wondering if any of you use them. 1157-x12 LED bulb 12-LED 12VDC replacement bulb 15mm Dual Intensity Bayonet Base Available with 12 Narrow or Wide Angle LEDs in White Also if the 1157-x12 LED bulb is what I need or the 1157-x24 LED bulb. Do I get the Narrow or Wide Angle?? I know I also need the 1156-x12 LED bulb or 24. Thanks for the insight and I am sure I'm not alone in wondering about this so it will help us all.................................................Ron P.S. Probably should of put this in the 2nd Gen Tech section. Move it please
  16. I just got an 03 Venture with 32,000 on it and really like the bike. Got rid of an 06 Gold Wing that I bought brand new I had put 26,000 on it. Now the question Has any body tried to put a ram mount on the plastic piece that is just in front of the gas tank cap. I have an I-way 350 and it would not work on the Handle bars of the Gold Wing so really don,t expect it to work on the Venture. I was thinking of putting the base that is about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long on it by using two sided tape and drilling two holes and wide flat wasjers under it. Do you think this will work. Thanks Larry
  17. OK, I'm starting to wonder if it's just me or this problem is more wide spread than first thought. Some of you may remember me posting a few months ago about sidewall checking on the Avon Venom X AM41 tire I had on the '83VR. To make a long story short, Avon waranteed the tire. Now the replacement tire is starting to check, not as bad as the first tire, and I'm wondering if any other Avon Venom users are having or had the same problem with their Avons?? It's either I'm really screwing up somehow and doing something wrong, or this problem is more wide spread than first thought.
