I have the Diamond R hidden Hitch and find it a pain hooking up the safety chains. Am I missing some thing or is there another option other than the 2 holes on top of the hitch inside the fender? How do you guys hook your chains on the hitch? I have been thinking about something like the picture below.....is this advisable? Keith

This hitch was fitted to my '86 VR when I bought it, and so far I have dismally failed to identify it. Any ideas? http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i418/twigg2324/1986%20Yamaha%20Venture%20Royale/IMG_0501.jpg http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i418/twigg2324/1986%20Yamaha%20Venture%20Royale/IMG_0502.jpg http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i418/twigg2324/1986%20Yamaha%20Venture%20Royale/IMG_0505.jpg

I just installed the subject trailer hitch and it installed in just one hour. It was a perfect fit and so easy to install. I did not even have to remove the saddlebags to perform the removal of the support arm and then installing the trailer hitch. It is recommended that one remove the saddlebags to prevent scratching the bags accidently when removing and installing the bolts. Being very careful, it really easy to install without removing the saddlebag which really cuts down on the time for installing of the trailer hitch. The service was great with no shipping or taxes. $150.00 covered it all. A special thanks to MarkVentures for the service and an excellent part. It fit like a glove, little to no effort and installed in "one hour". Would highly recommend this hitch for anyone riding a Venture. DanC

On the GL 1800 what trailer hitch is the best for allowing access to rear wheel removal while giving good towing performance? There are a lot of different hitches out there as well as a wide price renge.

Well I ordered a RSV hitch from hillis73. It arrived today and I am very impressed. Great quality, design and finish. The Photos don't do it justice. It's design also gives me a place to install a mud flap. I would and will recommend this hitch for everyone. Thanks you, Hillis Shamue

Hi Folks, I'm considering buying a trailer to pull behind my scoot. I found one that is kinda cool. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/83%20Venture%20trailer%20hitch/beertrailer.jpg But, it's got (what I consider to be) an odd sorta hitch. Does anybody know what this is called and more importantly where do I find the mating half? http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/83%20Venture%20trailer%20hitch/hitch.jpg

Well, dad drove almost 800 miles (one way) to spend Thanksgiving with my family. It was an awesome time but I had an ulterior motive for him coming up. He's been a long time Venture rider, so I wanted his help installing my new trailer hitch and wiring, changing the oil, and just generally showing me around my new (to me) Venture. We had some good weather and my plan was successful. We got the trailer hitch installed, fabricated a bracket to hold the plug (see pics), installed the wiring harness for the trailer, changed the oil, blew out the air filters, added some seafoam to the gas, and he showed me some other areas of interest to pay attention to. Was a great visit and working in the shop with dad is ALWAYS a good time!

Question: What have some of you [PGR?] used to make the pole for carrying a large flag on the back of your bike? As a PGR member I would be proud to ride on a mission while we are in the states next year. I am going to get Quickstep to make me a holder to fit my hitch on the back, then purchase the pole on arriving in the states. What should I get? And from where?

Since I have been unable to find a receiver hitch for my 1st gen MKII, I decided that I will make one this winter. I have a Markland hitch that I acquired off of eBay and I will use the two front tubes from that for attachment to the bike. I have designed a new part to replace the big chrome platform that Markland uses. Once I have this done and am sure that I will not need any dimensions off of the chrome ball mount, then it will be up for sale. Here are the cad drawings for the receiver to replace the stock Chrome ball mount. I still have some dimensions to finalize but this is the jest of what it will look like.

I have a 08 venture & would like to put a reciver type hitch on it. do all hitches for a venture lust bolt on with the 4 boults in the back or is there some other bracing that goes up to the main frame? If all I need is the frame across the back I cam make that! for now I would just like a rack on the back for more storage on long trips. trailer later?

http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/trailer-trailer-accessories.html?p=2 Anyone using this Tag-Along trailer from Harbor Freight? Have you swapped out the lights for LED, and if so how was it done? Any repainting to match a tow vehicle? The price they have it at now minus the 20% off coupon makes it look like a pretty good deal. Also, any hitch recommendation for 2007 RSV? Trailer has 1 7/8" hitch.
