Hi Guys & Gals, I have a very good friend that wants to buy a Royal Star Midnight Venture, 2003 or newer. Price is negotiable with low mileage/kms. Jim is very serious about obtaining a Venture and he wants one before the riding season is over. He rides a Road Star now and he wants to upgrade to a Venture. This is a new thread with paypal instructions for submitting your payments. Below is the list we compiled in the last couple of days of those interested in picking up a fork brace for their 1stGen. The price for those in the US is $61.50 delivered, and for those members in Canada the total will be $71.00USD delivered. I'd like to get the majority of the money into the paypal account in the next couple of days before I order the 45+ braces. Those that have already sent their payments in, a big Thank You, and to those that will.... Thank You too. I was fairly confident about hitting 20, but was a little skeptical about getting 40, and we finally hit 45 and it's still growing!!! WOW!! For payments go to www.paypal.com and Enter the email address paypal@cast-aways.com Also enter your board name, and if you'd like black or aluminum. Enter the appropreate amount and don't forget to hit the send button. As stated in the previous thread it makes my life so much easier.... and less confusing If you're new to Paypal let me know and I'll walk you through it, or I can invoice you from this end. When invoiced you'll get two email. One is a 'how to' and the other is the actual invoice. Youse guys are GREAT!!!!! We have a situation that is not going to effect those who have already paid for their braces, but will effect a handfull of members on the list who do not frequent the board all that often. Because of their infrequent visits, using the PM feature isn't effective when trying to contact them, and they also have designated not to accept email in their CP. Therefore I have no way of keeping them aware of what's happening, and if their braces aren't prepaid by the time I place the order, they will not be included. Folks, I sent out a mailing tonight regarding the International Rally and got probably 200 bounced emails. Please check your email addresses to verify that you have them updated with your latest ones. Also, MANY of you have added spam solutions that require the sender to click on a link, go to a website and confirm who they are. I don't blame you for doing that but I just don't have time to go to all those sites and confirm it. All of those programs have "whitelists" so that you can add people that you know to them. If you wish to receive email from this site regarding private messages you receive, replies to your posts, etc., you need to add venturerider.org to your white list. Otherwise, you will not be getting any emails. I'm going to install a custom script that will automatically move members with invalid email addresses to a different usergroup. You will not be able to post until you correct the problem. Thanks for your help.

This email address will be underlined, so you will see spaces between venture and rally and stuff - there are not spaces between the words, it is underscored.

Folks, I get quiet a few email here from people who are trying to contact another member. For example, you post that you are looking for a part or have a part that somebody might need and a member clicks on your username to send you an email or PM and you have both turned off. Then I get an email asking me to contact that member and etc. and etc. Please check and make sure that there is a means for a member to contact you if necessary. If you don't want to be contacted then that is your right but I think there are some here who are doing it by accident. Just click on User CP in the menu bar above. Then in the left menu, click on "Edit Options" and you'll see settings for email and PMs. Please note, even if you elect to accept email from other members, your email address will not be publicly viewable. I have "safe" email set up so that it is done through the server without your address being shown. Same with PMs, it does not subject you to spam and etc. If you post something and a member tries to respond via PM or email and you have it turned off, there is really not much I can do. If you do indeed intend for it to be turned off, then I assume you don't want me giving it out either and I really don't want to be the messenger between members trying to work out a swap, sale, whatever. I was reading about the two fellas that changed their names and have been doing the same with a lot of my online stuff and caught the name-change bug so I sent Don an email to change mine. Back on 3/4 I picked up a 1srtGen dash panel from a guy on Ebay. VTCustoms/Anthony Alfieri . The dash was discribed as in 'good condition with 14K on the Odo. Here's a copy of an email I sent to the seller after it arrived. The email bounced, and it's the same address that shows in the paypal details for the transaction. Tony, Just wanted to let you know the dash panal arrived OK, however it wasn't anywhere near your discription of 'good condition' that one would have suspected from a bike with only 14K miles on the ODO. One of the mounting posts on back of the shell was broken off and missing and should have been very easily noticed when you removed it from the bike. Probably damaged in the accident. Lots of rust on the electrical connections. Someone was also inside the housing, as a large piece of speedo back light plastic was broken off, and there's no way that broken piece could have gotten out. There was also electricians tape and caulk/sealer in a couple of places on the inside. Bottom line is the dash was not in any condition to be of use as a complete unit. So.... disappointed? Yes, but I'll go ahead and keep the dash and chalk it up to experience. I've owned and worked on over 5 Ventures, and will just rendeer the dash down into parts for the shelf, and toss the broken and rusted stuff. I suggest in the future you be a bit more up front with your discriptions and with the pictures you take. So, I'd suggest that if any member of this board is considering bidding on an auction by VTCustoms to be very carefull. I'm going to resend this email via Ebay and see if it goes through. I've bought a lot of stuff off Ebay and this is the first time I haven't received what I expected...... Just an addition. I fianlly did get a response from the seller via my Ebay message board with his apologies and an offer to return for a refund, but by then I had already taken it apart and bagged it. His email address is still not functioning.

This came across my desk from a co-worker who got it from the Director of Information Services at ****** (not at liberty to disclose) ... Just a "heads up"...and I don't have the attachment(s) referred to... Ebay fraud (Phishing Scam) - please refer to the attached email seen below .......... I am passing along this attempted email fraud (phishing expedition) onto "All Subscribers" such that all are made aware of the types of email frauds that one may receive. This particular one is an an attempt being made to fool one into divulging their personal information. In the following attachment letter 'invoice' seen below, it indicates to the receiver that they have purchased an item from eBay. By clicking on the link - it brings you to a 'look alike' eBay page where it requests that you enter your eBay Username and Password. Once you do this, the scammers, store this information and now have access to your eBay account where they can buy and sell under your name, leaving you to clean up the mess. In addition they most lilley will harvest any monies in your PayPal account if they can get that as well. It is interesting to note that if you click on the Link in the attachment below 'Guess Red Signs Handbag Purse & ........ it links to: http://www.traveldelhi.com/ufiles/default.htm?213rjceirjqexr98rdlkmsanch frinvc58ucrdjkxnerimjgtmxkjnzmhrugt45ncoirehviuhtrckm45x You will notice that address above denotes www.traveldelhi.com It is a web site located in India - IT DOES NOT SAY 'eBay'. When you click on a link of anything you may feel is suspicious - it is advisable "LOOK" to see what site it is really referencing. In this case it is not www.ebay.com So please be cautious when receiving any such emails - when in doubt- do not to click on the link - but simply bring up your Browser and enter the address such as www.ebay.com and check things out that way.

I just received the following email. I very much appreciated being contacted and I have called Kat and told her that I am very interested and would post the email in case any of the rest of our members may be close to this area and wish to participate. I will post more in regard to dates, meeting places and etc. when I receive her email with that information. "I am the program assistant with the Holmes and Wayne Counties Safe Communities programs in Northeastern Ohio. I just want to send my sincere sympathy in regard to your friends. Through the Safe Communities coaltion we try to reduce traffic fatalties by educating drivers to become more aware of things around them. Unfortunately, for as much as we try to do to prevent crashes from happening, it takes a tragedy to really get peoples attention. As part of this years program we will be working more on motorcycle education. Are you a local group? If so, would you be interested and willing to attend a Safe Communities coalition meeting? I sent an email to Yamaha Canada. It is the only one I could find a way to send something to. I called Yamaha in the USA and they told me they don't have an email address (ya right). I went to Yamaha Japan web site and there is no email address there either. If anyone has an email address for Yamaha Japan, I would like to get it. Anyway, here is what I sent to Yamaha Canada. What do you think? ------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to know why Yamaha doesn't listen to, or address, their customers concerns. Just myself, I know 5 people that are no longer Yamaha customers. A president in one of our provinces, in a Star group that fully supports Yamaha has stepped down because he has gone the HD way. I am sure that others have emailed you and you may or may not have replied. I don't know because I never see or hear Yamaha bring up concerns brought up from their customers. I just bought my 2nd Yamaha. It is a 2007 Venture. I must say that it is a very comfortable ride and my wife loves it. However, so many of us want to know a few things. And I, as a customer, would appreciate the courtesy of you answering each of these questions / concerns. I am going to rant on, but again, as a customer that has spent a lot of money on your product, has been loyal, and hopes that you want me to continue to be loyal, will address these questions and concerns. Why are you still using OLD technology on this bike? Why have you not gone to Fuel Injection on the Venture? Why still a cassette player and not a CD? Do you still buy cassettes?????????????? Why no tachometer? Other gauges?????? Why don't you take a look at a Harley dash on their touring bikes? CD Player on current and pre 2007 bikes. Built in tachometer, temp gauge, oil gauge, battery gauge, etc. NO DUMMY LIGHTS that only come on when it is too late!!!!! When I bought this bike I was told it comes with an MP3 player. I haven't got mine yet however I have seen them and the word is, it is a cheap piece of #$@#$. Why would you insult your customers that buy your high end bike with a cheap piece of crap? It is an insult and you would have been better off offering nothing at all. This little unit might have been a good offer to your customers that buy your scooters. But a Venture?? Come on. You could have offered an Ipod Nano. You know, a little class with a class bike. Maybe my next bike will be a generic bike. Why have you not addressed the whining in the motor? May that is normal, maybe not. Doesn't really bother me a whole lot but would still like to know. What about the CHIRPING sound (the George Jetson car sound) in our bikes? When I got my bike it was not there. After about 3 weeks, now it is there and it is getting louder. Now that sound is very annoying. What is it? So many of us are concerned with that chirping sound and yet I have hear or seen nothing from Yamaha regarding this. Some say it is a bad clutch basket. Is this the case? Are you leaving it up to us to correct this problem so you don't have to do a massive recall? Are you afraid to actually look after your customers?????? The chirping is starting to get quite loud in my bike. Enough to distract from the stereo playing. I suggest that you start having some quality control. More so than I am sure you already have. I suggest that your department at Yamaha Canada starts watching what their customers are saying on a forum called VentureRider.org at: http://www.venturerider.org/ There are a lot of other concerns, however this is enough for now. I am curious as to how serious you take this email and how it is dealt with. Curious to know how valuable my business is to you. Hope to have all above mentioned answered.
