I am also a member of STAR chapter 304 Fayetteville, Ga. And all of our members own Yamaha's and several of us own two Yamaha's...until now. One of our members who owns a 06 Stratoliner went out and bought:mo money::mo money: an brand new 2009 Harley Ultra Classic. He hasn't completely lost his mind as he kept the Strat. Well, we all met today and got our first look at the new Ultra Classic and it's proud new owner (one wearing the helmit) and one of his buddies (one wearing the shades) and an oil spot (just happened to be there but not really from the Harley but we had him going). I'm thinking of doing the H-D muffler swap on my RSV and can get a set from an '08 Ultra Classic. I got to checking on info on removing the cat's and found out that some late model H-D's don't have cat's in the mufflers... the cat's are in the head pipe. Does anyone know where the cat is on the '08 Ultra Classic?

Hey folks!! I'm new here and hope this hasn't been asked before. I have a '98 Royal Star Tour Classic II with the large leather slope bags. They are beginning to get pretty weather worn and I was wondering if anyone on here has found a good replacement for these or not. I've been watching ebay for months and none have shown up. Any ideas?? Thanks...........Ron -
OK, I've spent an hour looking for the dang oil filter on JoDees bike. Can anybody help me on this one? It's a 650 Vstar Classic 2006. If you have a drawing via manual it would be MUCH appreciated. God Bless. Mike

Just starting to consider helmets for the upcoming year. Shoei RJ Platnium or ARIA Classic ?? Both open face. We are not likely to use or be comfortable with full face or flip fronts. We do currently use Shorty's (Bell Shorty)but considering "better" helmets for the longer highway riding. We do use J&M Intercom set in the helmets. Any Feedback (as many usually do) is appreciated in search of new Head Gear.

Hello All! I just wanted to let you know that I traded my 99 RSV in for a 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electric Glide back in August. Thanks for the welcome y'all. I hail from "sunny" NW - Port Angeles, WA - great riding country just always pack your wet gear. ALWAYS looking for riding bud's and will join most any road trip, especially fond of the really important one's - like that 800 mile round trip for the BEST ribs on the planet in Spokane, WA out by the old Air Force air strip. Hobby in the winter is scouring Craig's list, and other venues for the older, classic or soon to be classic rides for those fixer bikes, bringing them home to my shop and giving them a new life. The rest of my time is spent fishing and riding. Give me a shout, let's go for a ride or hook up in the shop and skin some knuckles. I have the 07 RSTD in black and have been thinking about taking the tank emblem off. Has anyone done this? If so can you post up a pic? I would like to see what it looks like before I take em off. I am thinking it might add to that simple black and chrome "classic" look.. Thanks, Shep

I have an 07 Venture that is Blue / Black. It is ready for tires and I am thinking about putting Wide Whitewalls on her. Do any of you have them on your Venture, (preferably same colors) and could post a pic or two? This way I can see how mine would look ahead of time. I am familiar with Metzler from my last Kaw 1500 Classic, but other than those I'm not sure which to choose. My dealer tells me that Metzler doesnt make them for the Venture in Whitewalls. So I thought would search a couple of forums to see which is most liked. craigr

Ok guys saw the new tri-gluide today and I kinda like it as an option for the better half. Was told 38000.00 ca for the basic bike. So what do you think, is there a better way to go such as the Honda trikes. To be honest I,m kinda leary about Harley as I had an Ultra Classic in the spring and I took it back after 1400 kms and two oil pump failures. My 2008 Venture is still gonna be my main ride.

Also reminised when I saw some BSA 650s and old cushman eagles! Also there is live entertainment.Tom

Ok there's a wealth of information here but I do have a few questions! Hopefully within the next few months we'll be a buying a touring bike to replace our Suzuki C50T. The RSV is on the now very short list but a the local dealer is not open again until Tuesday. Besides twice now I've called dealers about an RSV they had advertised and then was shown an RSTD when I got there. Both times I was told "Well I'm a sport bike guy." Question one is the intercom. Does Yamaha supply any headsets? HD supplies one headset with the purchase of an Ultra Classic and was wondering if Yamaha does too. Is the intercom a PTT or is it VOX? I would assume with a headset plugged in you'd here the radio & CB through the helmet speakers. Question area two. Luggage liners. Once again, with an Ultra Classic HD includes liners for the saddlebags & trunk. Does Yamaha? Believe it or not that's about it! I already know most of the specs and differences between the RSV and Ultra Classic. And niether of the above are deal breakers by no means, just curiosity. I'm lucky that I can get the Ultra Classic Peace Officer Special Edition (NOT a police bike) which is a significant savings for an HD. BUT an RSV which to me is in the same class is an even more significant savings over the Ultra WITH the discount. The other contender is the BMW R1200RT for some reason! But the wife just isn't warming up to it. Besides it looks like I might need a home equity line just to get the break in maintenance done! Thanks! Chris

I have been hearing speculation that the 09 harleys may have a water cooled enigne in the road king or ultra classic. Anyone heard anything?

I got to wondering.. I've seen references here, to the Tour Deluxe, the Tour Classic, The Tour Classic II and one or two others I believe. What were/are the differences between them? My '98 says Tour Deluxe on the title, but Tour Classic on the side of the leather saddlebags. Not a big deal...just curious more than anything!! Thanks autopilot
