joe, i had the chirp in my rstd big time. it was so bad i swear it drew looks on the highway. the rest of the bike was so good i learned to ignore it. mechanically there is nothing wrong. it's just straight cut gears doing their thing. some just do it in a different frequency. as far as vtwins go. i would never want one in a total touring bike. i bought the nomad strickly for fun and because i like the looks. it does'nt even come close to my wing for the open road. the vtwin can be smoothed out with the balance shafts, but when you get into 800 cc + cylinders, you can't smooth out those hammering power pulses. i went from my rstd to my v-star. i love my v-star, but my wife won't ride on it. it just ain't no venture. and it sure won't hold a candle to my wing.

PLEASE READ! Concerning Jokes and Politics
Snarley Bill replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
don, i thought jokes and politics were one and the same. :rotf: -
that was part of the 4 hrs. great site.

the strats are awesome. wanted to go with the water cooling and vibration damper. it is smooth as glass from 1500 rpm up. my big complaint is the exaust sounds like crap. it is not loud, it just has no character. that big cat chamber ruins the v-twin sound. i think a vance and hines may be down the road, way down the road.

the dealer said retail was $4400.00. i will take $3800.00 firm. it is in perfect condition, with 9700 miles. i got the title 54 mile per gal, best ever i got 59 mpg.
-
no cruise control, but it does have engine counter balancer, and hydraulic valve adjusters. i wanted the balancer. can't hack that vtwin vibration. i will put a throttle lock on it.

got to add, it is a 2008 model, 1600 cc.. i sat on a 1700 2009 and there were several things i did'nt care for, the main one being the extra $4000,00 on the price tag. the one i bought is two tone blue and silver. after spending 4 hours on nomad forums last night investigating the 1600, it came out on top for looks and function to fit what i was looking for. lewis, would love to be at vogel. i found out my blood pressure is off the map, so atkins diet here i come. really went over board this summer on beer and food.this weight has really taken it's toll.

pulled off the deal on my new nomad this morning. would have brought it home this morning but i had my truck and could'nt leave it at the dealer. going to ride the zx-14 down tomorrow and leave it for a frame recall check, and ride the new one home. sure is beautiful. the chroming is about to begin. anyone want to buy a 2007 majesty 400 scooter. i'm running out of room. it's got to go.

they probably won't last but a few hours in a 2 gal. bucket. gold fish use alot of oxygen and crap alot very messy fish. a 20 gal. tank will probably be to small for that many gold fish. get a big filter and air pump at walmart. shoot air in that bucket they may make it. if they stay at the surface of the water they need air. i raise koi in a pond and have some gold fish. i would say about 5 medium size goldfish for 20 gal. tank. don't over feed them. it's the worst thing to do to pollute the water. buy a book. bill:)

i guess everyone thinks i'm nuts but i watched my dad, mother in law, and father in law die in a nursing home. so i decided i'm going for the gusto, and going to enjoy life the best i can. got no one to leave it to accept the state, and i gave them enough already. got to grab life by the bars.

i unloaded my wing this morning and took off for a ride around the block to put it in the garage. i kind of got carried away and ended at my kawasaki dealer. finally found a new nomad to sit on in the right color. it was absolutely beautiful, beige and red 2tone. fit me like a glove. came home and linda said you can go get it today if you want it. i want it so i am now negotiating. not a sure thing yet. no trade out right, 14k. they're gonna have to come off that. i'm going to do a little shopping on the net. i'm in no hurry. i will have to get rid of a couple of bikes if i buy it, i'm out of space. my zx-14 is in the neigbors garage. i think the 14, and the majesty scooter will be on the to go list.
