I can see a ct with the voyager kit.I had a sidecar on my 99 and was eating up a mc tire every 2500 miles.I put a ct on and the tire had 22,000 miles on it when I sold the bike and it still had plenty of tread left on it.I don't have any pix but I rode it to Vogel in 2011 with the sidecar and pulling a trailer.Talk about getting some looks on the road with that rig.

When I installed the Roadkings on my 86 I removed the bottom rear bolt from the saddlebags and screwed a 3/8 inch bolt into the RK muffler bracket.I went to the muffler shop and had a 6 degree bend on two 1 1/2 inch pipe about 2 feet long.Iheld the pipes up to the RK muffler and the exhaust on the bike, marked them and cut off the excess pipe. Then I took the RK and the factory mufflers and had the pipes flared to match each muffler and then installed them on the bike.I got 2 muffler clamps from the Harley dealer for about $15 for the pair then finished the job.Total time about one hour.I sold the bike Sunday but here is a couple pictures.

My 86 left my house this afternoon headed east to it's its new home.I met Nathan today, really nice guy.I thanked him for his service to our country. He really seemed excited to get the bike and I am happy he got it. Bad thing is the bike has to sit a few months while he is being deployed. My prayers go out to him and his family and wish him a speedy and safe return home. And thank you KIC for making this transaction happen.I will have to admit I did give the bike a goodby kiss.I am now bikeless for the first time since 1966.

No Problem

As for thanking him for his service I will do that in person when he shows up Saturday to pick up the bike. After 23 years in the Army I can relate to those unexpected deployments. As for storing the bike I never did anything to mine other than stabil in the gas.A few years ago I had 4 bikes of which 3 had plates on them. The 86 sat in the garage for 2 years.I hooked a battery tender to it for a couple days then checked the oil fired it up checked tire pressure then took it on a 20 mile ride.It gets pretty cold up here in the mountains and I have never prepped a bike for storage.

Saw something I'd never seen in my 53 yrs ...

two years ago Yammer Dan and I took a ride on the backroads during the Asheville rally. We went around a curve into a straight road and there stood a deer in the middle of the road.We slowed down and I laid down on the horn but the deer just stood there,we rode past it and it just stood there looking.I think it was admiring our 1st Gens. -
Another suggestion if you install the Harley lights. You can buy the generic eye brows at a Harley dealer for about $10.If you get the ones with the Harley logo or the skull be prepared to pay big bucks. Not hijacking the trailer thread but I think I saw a post about the Harley lights you was looking for. Just my 10c worth.(Inflation)

Bring cold and wet weather gear because it is supposed to get down to 37 up here tonight and a high of 59 tomorrow.Getting that time of year when the weather gets crazy up here.Hope you have good weather because that means I will have good weather also.

Hey Skid, just an idea. When I wired up my Harley lights instead of splicing into bikes wiring I used a trailer plug and plugged the lights into the plug on the bike. When I pulled the trailer I just unplugged the Harley lights and plugged the trailer lights because I didn't need the Harley lights cause I had the trailer lights on. Just a thought and saved splicing into the bike wiring.
