  1. You really have no Idea how gladly i'd attend at MD. I really would love to show up. But as it looks in my Business now, it ain't gonna happen. :255: :crying::crying:
  2. That'll be in 2009 me thinks ...
  3. Wow, i really like it. That's a Steal, no Question about it.
  4. You could simply connect one Lead of your DMM on one Post of the Solenoid and the other lead on the other Post, select 2 Volt DC on the DMM and hit the Starter Button. If there is a internal Voltage Drop, you can read it on the DMM while starting.
  5. I totally agree on your Plot, let them Vmax or V-max Guys do the Job in first Place. There's more than enough Room to fill with the Ventures.
  6. These tiny rubber Washer has onyl to do with the Ability to adjust the upper and lower Locknuts in the Position where the they can be held together with the Security Cramp. Has nothing to do with the Hands or Handlebars vibrating. Solid Motor Mounts are indeed a very good Idea.
  7. I took a Look on the Yamaha Europe Website ... http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/corporate/museum/museum_1990_now.jsp?active=tcm:26-12125 When US-Yammi stays with V-Max, well, so be it. Just stay with one Term. Right or wrong. I have some Pics of my Bike, but to be honest, it's far from being in stock Condition. Here's my latest publicly used Pic, but it's old, my Bike has had some Changes since. http://wkhost.webkicks.de/squeeze/Docs/Vmax_Stulln_2007.jpg
  8. The Washer goes between the two Locknuts on the upper Steering Head and replaces a rubber 'Washer' there.
  9. Sounds better than my French anyway. I never understood the Logic of that Language, just until it occured me ... There is NONE ... :rotf:
  10. I'm familiar with the Furbur Fix. There is a mixed Outcome. For some it's Part of the holy Grail and for some it's just a Way of converting Money into 'useless' Metal. I'm inbetween those two Positions. You could ask John Furbur himself. He owns Blue Ridge Mountain Sportsmax. http://www.rmsportmax.com/thefix.html
  11. You may take a Look into the german Wikipedia Article. The german might not be your biggest Expertise, but there are Listings about Models and so on ... http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Vmax
  12. I just read the Vmax Discussions Page. It was in Fact Ed Burke who designed the Vmax. And he made them Guys in Japan develop and produce the Bike.
  13. Not that i know of. To my Knowledge, back in '85 Yamaha introduced the Bike wrongly as V-max and the Media took that over, but they allways wanted to have it Vmax and they changed the Term. European Versions came up in 1990, i think, when the French Yamaha Boss Jaques Olivier twisted Yamaha's Arms and Legs until they gave him the Bike to France. That's right, the first european Model's didn't have the V-Boost mounted, they have had other Cams (MKII me speculates) and 125 hp instead of 140some hp, depending the Country of Delivery, and some other Differences. They're called 2EN and 3LR Models. Sorry, no Pic available, because most of my Folks have mounted the V-Boost-System long Time ago. Air Intake is wrong.... refering to the Throttle Position is wrong. The famous V-Boost is a patented System from Yamaha which is opening Butterfly Valves between the Manifolds of the 1st and 2nd and between 3rd and 4th cylinder starting from 5750 RpM. The opening is gradually to rising the RpM-Signal provided by the Ignition System and it's on full open Position at 8000 RpM. There is a small black Box that computes the Signal to a Servo-Motor and the Servo is pulling a Wire to open the Butterfly-Valves. The V-Boost System generates additional 10 Percent of the Top Power Rating of the Engine. Dynoed on my Bike with 88kw versus 80kw on the rear Wheel. Thats correct. The System is called YCC-I, Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake. The Airhorns inside the Airbox are lifted by a Servo to open up the Airway underneath the actual Horns and shortening the Lenght of the Intake System from 138mm(not sure about the Actual Number) to 52mm. This System had it's first Appearance with the 2006 YZF-R1. It's not an Idea from Yamaha. The MV Augusta F4 Tamburini was the first Bike with such a System. Afaik Masssimo Tamburini invented this Idea.
  14. I'd sign a Letter pro to any of the two Generations. Whehter i'd like (and probably buy) the Outcome or not. But i higly doubt that a german Name would be of any Help ...
  15. You're SOOOOO mean .... :stickpoke: not to address my little Sidekick in my Posting .... :missingtooth::crackup:
  16. Gentlemen, please, not to ruffle your Feathers, but it's Vmax for the 1985-2007 and VMAX for the 2009-. There is no "-" inbetween.
  17. I beg to differ. Check the existing System for Flaws is a good Idea. Minor Investments in the existing System may be ok. But when it's Time to rebuilt the old Calipers, i never do that. It's faster, easier and cheaper to replace them with the newer R1/R6/FJR Calipers. The R1 Calipers will work with the existing linked Lines but you won't get the best out of them. If the old ones are sticking, change them to R1 If you want more braking power, change them and delink the Brakes for the best Outcome. The front M/C is fine feeding both front R1 Calipers. SS Lines are a must imho, the old Lines are just expanding and aren't able to transfer the full hydraulic Force to the Pistons. The R1 Calipers will fit the MKII Bikes without any Issue, bolt on.
  18. I didn't doubt that, Safety Chrome IS important, when Power isn't anymore ... :happy-emoticon: But i've meant the Currency you refered to in "I'd put a few thousand on her before I deal with that." Would that Canadian or US Dollars ?
  19. US or CAD ???
  20. It's allways a Question about how much Information should be there in a Wikipedia Article. Basic Informations should be there and of Course they should be correct by any Meanings. But there's allways a "Fever" of putting more Informations into the Article. I personally see no Need of getting all the detailed Info into Wikipedia. It's important to cover all the Basic, but then if one is interested, there are a Lot of Sources out in the Net to provide any further and detailed Information. Bummer, you're doing a great Job there !!!
  21. The Reference from the MK I to the Vmax and back to the MKII is fine now. "The drive shaft and differential..." I don't think we should call the final Drive on Shaft driven Bikes a "Differential". Maybe you change that in final Drive, angled Gear or something in that Line. A Differential is built to compensate different Revelations betwenn inside and outside Wheel of an Axle.
  22. Hey Rick, my sincere congrats on the new Scoot !! !! I just love the Color.
  23. Steve, who can say he knows everything ? That isn't important. The common Brain here on the Site could say we know 99.99 Percent of all what has to be known, but there's more to explore even when you have been everywhere and done everything. I like your writing Style and i wish o could phrase these Things as a Venture-History only half as fine as you do. I'd be honored to help.
  24. You sure should mention that the Venture Engine was the Mother of Vmax Engine and many Parts of the Vmax Motor have made their Way into the MKII.
