Not a great time of the year to tackle the "coq", especially on a bicycle! I'm guessing he's travelling the Roger's pass route .... (I've travelled that route so many times I can almost do it with my eyes closed) ... he'll be doing more uphill than downhill but at least he'll have plenty of downhill to look forward to. Hope the weather holds out for him!

As far as I know, all the mechanical stuff is the same. What's not the same is pretty obvious.

Oddball request but maybe someone here has them....

Thanks mate... I'm in no rush. Won't be painting the trailer until July sometime and won't be mounting any latches before then. Just PM me and if you have pics, that'd be great. Need the latches and the hooks if you have them. Let me know what you want for them. -
Most of these type of vac's are lifetime filters. This one has a hepa lifetime plus another filter which is lifetime. I remember years ago I had an hepa air filter unit ... it wasn't a lifetime filter... danged filter was almost as much as the whole unit so I eventually trashed it. Like my laser printer at home... printer cost me $129 but the toner cartridge is $93 .... makes no sense!

Thanks for all the input ya'll ... looks like we're going with the Hoover model I mentioned above. I found it locally on sale for $399.98 (why can't they just make it $400 and quit with the b/s pricing that doesn't fool anyone) so we get a comparative vac to the Dyson, same/similar features, a bit longer warranty, more attachments, etc for $200 less expense. Considering where we're buying it (Home Depot), if we find we're not satisfied within 30 days, we can return it. Granted, it's not a Dyson but "wok the heck"! There's just the 2 of us (mostly), not much carpeting, no pets .... it doesn't get a lot of heavy use... should last us the rest of our life (considering our age, that doesn't sound so good any more LOL)

Did a bit more research and came up with a Hoover alternate... Hoover Platinum Collection Cyclonic Bagless Canister Model:: S3865 Got any pros/cons to share on this one? It's cheaper than the Dyson model we've looked at. I should mention that we've decided to go with a cannister style instead of an upright. Figure it will work better for us. So we're kinda down to the Dyson DC21 or this Hoover model.

We rent our house ... now, we have a great landlord but asking for them to install a built-in vac..??? heh ... I think I want a new fridge, thermal windows, new furnace, floors redone first

heh... already got a real good shop vac. My son borrowed my old one (and failed to return it) which gave me a good excuse to go get a new one. hmmmmm... come to think of it... he also borrowed my upright (a leftover from my divorce) about 5 years ago and never returned that either LOL!! danged kids !!

Thanks Gary... interesting comment as we were at Sears (who sell the Kenmore) and the salesman gave us some great demonstrations; however, he was leaning us towards the Dyson as a better unit over the Kenmore. We'll be taking a second look at both of them tho before we decide.

Yes I have..thanks Doug. Didn't find anything that suited my "fancy" so to speak. This trailer had mid-80's Honda saddlebag latches on it but they were damaged. I went to Bent Bike and they had some but the crook wanted 30 bucks each. Forget that! I have found some generic cabinet latches but they'd be a compromise to what I'm really wanting. -
I'm looking for a couple of those trunk latches used on a Harley trunk. Need both the latches and the hooks. Figured they'd be great for my trailer. Anyone got some? Could maybe even use the 1st gen (86-93) Yammi ones but the Harley ones are more compact in design. If I recall correctly, the Yammi ones there is one that is offset a bit so don't think that will work.

heh ... in my lifetime I have done just about every kind of low-paying, unskilled job there is including being a Kirby Vacuum salesman! ... Good machines but hard to sell, especially back in "that day" .... price was crazy.

About 6 years ago a female "friend" of mine had a Miata and she let me drive it. Was a real blast .... discovered ya can pull rubber in 2nd gear on those sukkahs .... hmmmm... I wonder if that's why she dumped me..
