Seafoam in the Oil - - How Much?
leo3wheel replied to Bobby G's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
To clean carbon and varnish deposits from the tops of cylinders and the backs of intake valves, add 1 oz. Sea Foam® to each gallon of fuel. Sea Foam® will slowly re-liquefy the varnish and gum deposits that hold carbon together. http://www.seafoamsales.com/how-to-use-sea-foam-motor-treatment.html -
Seafoam in the Oil - - How Much?

It was brought to my attention that doing an oil and filter change may have still left 100 cc of contaminated oil in the crankcase. Will have to do another oil change before going to the Florida Keys. Next time, will also pull a secondary oil plug on the left side of the RSV. This should do the trick. The new Yamalube I added is an amber color in the window, but I know there is SeaFoam in there. Biggest benefit is being able to slip into neutral with ease. -
When I lift my leg to mount my motorcycle and almost fall over backwards.... When I go to warm up a cup of water in the microwave and discover my cup from 15 minutes ago.... When I constantly have the dropsies.... When my wife is more facinated with LMN than me.... When cold foods send shocks from my teeth to my brain.... When my 13 year granddaughter looks me in the eyes and checks to see if she fills my shoes....

Seafoam in the Oil - - How Much?

Our '09 RSV only has 7,000 miles. Would not expect any large debris yet. It had only been 3,000 miles since the last oil change. -

Did SeaFoam crankcase treatment and oil change today. Oil did come out black. Seems to shift easier. -
Sorry to hear that........ I was honest with my wife, and I would not put her aboard until bike was triked. Not worth getting hurt.........

I was really upset one day when I slowed down to negotiate a right turn on a heavily crowned road and dumped the bike. Bent back and chewed up the right engine guard, not to mention chewing up my right foot. Thank goodness I had motorcycle boots on. That was it for me......... Replaced the engine guard with a new one and triked the bike. Problem solved.......

Haven't had to do it in crank case yet, but here is the usage information: "To clean built-up oil residues and contamination from the crank case, add 1½ oz. Sea Foam® to each quart of engine oil. Sea Foam® will slowly re-liquefy residues and suspend contaminants for easy removal. Monitor oil for color and clarity and change oil and replace filter when oil looks dirty." http://www.seafoamsales.com/how-to-use-sea-foam-motor-treatment.html -
It was expensive, but we went with Hannigan. We had a new bike, retired and wanted to extend our riding a long as possible. Not worried about resale, because we have no plans to ever sell. We will enjoy it as long as we can.

Find a local Dent Wizard, and they can tap it out from the inside with special tools. Dealers use them all the time. http://dealers.dentwizard.com/

Know exactly what you mean about the storms in Alabama. While in Mississippi, those storms would roll in and nearly shake the houses off their foundations.

Descriptive icons and a color coding system (red = twisty, blue = sweepers, green = scenic, and brown = unpaved) I vote no brown........

Now I've done it.......... Spoke too fast. We have a white layer of sleet tonight ......... Yikes!

Hard to believe..... Jeannette and I both did it this week! "When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now Will you still be sending me a valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine? If I'd been out 'til quarter to three, would you lock the door? Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm sixty-four?" http://www.elyrics.net/read/b/beatles-lyrics/when-i_m-64-lyrics.html

Jeff, Sorry you are having a tough winter. My sister-in-law says it was like -15* in northern NH today. We rarely see minus temperatures in recent years. Last winter, we had a lot of snow, then hurricane Irene last summer and then a bad ice storm in October. After that, we got a break. We need this mild winter to recover from all the recent disasters. I feel we will get 3 feet of snow at the end of March to impact our Florida Keys ride. Please, let's hope not.
