Assuming that the part numbers for the Passing Lamps are the same for the Venture and RSTD, STR-4XY35-1O-OO, the bolt is indicated as Item 9 on the attached parts list. No size is given. I will have to pull out the good one tonight to get size/tread/length.....

They are OEM stock Yamaha Lights and the dealer said Yamaha did not list individual parts. Added: let me clarify: they are Yamaha Accessories mounted on a 2006 RSTD.

The hollow bolt in my passing light is broken. It's the one that screws into the turn signal from the passing light bucket. Had to do a roadside temporary repair while on a trip. Have searched, but have not found a source for these. Dealer is no help. Does anyone know a source or part number?

CPAP never did me any good, and I kept pulling it off. I tried every mask option with no luck. I finally bought a mouthpiece that moves my lower jaw forward and that keeps the airway open. I don't claim any miraculous results, but I do sleep better and I don't snore.

LEDs in question were not Moonshines, and according to CD were supposed to work with stock lenses. Now that I know that others have had the same issue, I'll shoot them an email and suggest they change the application info.

While I have a degree from the MacGyver School of Make it Work, the older I get the less inclined I am to redesign/modify expensive stuff that should have been made correctly in the first place. Wife says I'm getting "grumpy"..... I think I'll just keep my eye out for an alternative.....

I thought the response from CD was great, as I never expected to hear from them on Christmas Day. The problem was not with the bases, but with the board the LEDs are on. They were just a little too big to fit in. Maybe they got a bad batch..... I do love the tail light!

So I finally decided to bite the bullet and put LEDs for the '06 RSTD on my list for the fat guy in the red suit. He came through, and became the proud owner of the Custom Dynamics 100 LED tail light and a Turn Signal conversion kit. My need for immediate gratification meant that I installed the tail light first.....and man that thing is bright! My next step, and where my disappointment started, was to try out the turn signals. I'm no Rocket Surgeon, but I figured this was going to be fairly simple. Well, after 30 minutes of trying to figure out why the front LEDs would not fit properly, I tried the rears and found the same problem. They had a diameter about 1/16 of an inch too large. My disappointment drove me to send an email to CD, and I was surprised to get a response on Christmas Day. Although Dave from CD said they should fit, I could find no way they could be mounted without screwing up the weather seal or mounting them cockeyed in the lens. Alas, this morning I shipped them back to CD for a refund and am now looking for alternatives. Anyone else encounter this problem? Alternative sources?

Thanks for the responses. I was trying to figure out how may watts were available for accessories, assuming a fully charged battery and the bike in normal operation (with stock running lights on). I have a GPS and a J&M CB (intermittent load on transmit) on it, but was thinking of .... wait for it...........adding more lights! My friend gave me some LED riding lights that he says are 10w each. I have not checked the actual load with an ammeter, but they are very bright and get hot after a while. Sounds like adding 20 watts to the load is not a good idea......

As the temps go down, so does my riding time. That means I have more time to tinker in the garage and add stuff. Does any know the power budget for an 2006 RSTD? I have passing lights, and would like to know how much additional power is available for goodies...

I was unhappy with the positioning of my mirrors after putting the Flanders bars on my RSTD. Seemed like I had to turn my head too far to look at the mirrors. So I bought some bar clamps and moved the mirrors forward as seen in these pictures. Had to buy some mirror stems because I could not find any metric reverse thread nuts for the stock stem that required it. Now I only have to slightly turn my head !

I had the same plan and envisioned myself tooling down the highway listening to tunes on Pandora and using the GPS function for navigation. Unfortunately, I found that the Droid X, while plugged into 12v on the bike and working as a GPS, got so hot that it would shut itself down. Temperature is problematic with the Droid X. Steve
