  1. Now theres a mental image I won't be able to shake for days...
  2. This is nothing more than an opportunity for the Oil Cartel to drive prices as high as they want. And thus PB will be able to also charge the higher prices (that they promised not to do) to help recover the cost of fixing their problem.
  3. Looks like my two wheeled riding days may be over. I have had bad knees for a long time. It kept me out of the Military and Police Academy (thank the stars). Well, yesterday, while working for some extra scratch, I jumped out of the back of a Kawasaki Mule.... And I blew my right knee out. This is the worst I have had to deal with. I can't straighten out my leg, it locks up and is very very painful. I can't bare any weight on it, at all. If I do put weight on it, it bends sideways and well... I seem to find the ground pretty fast and stings of foul words boil out. I'm really freakin out. I won't be able to do all the things I love doing. Fishing, Hunting and most of all riding the scooter. Not sure what I am going to do for work... Everything I do involves walking I'm in the middle of getting my Bail Bonds License and even that requires walking... I'm going to hold onto the scooter till after the surgery to see if I can ride... Should be close to winter by then... Dammit. But, if I can't hold it up, I can't ride it. I better start reading about Trikes.
  4. My job last night had me getting out at 3am. At 2:30 I was outside smoking and it was clear as a bell. 3 O'clock rolled around and it looked like something out of a Stephen King Movie. It was so thick and heavy you could feel it when you were breathing. Many of the non-smoker were coughing over the moisture. Well, I had about an hour and half ride home ( with good conditions) but, I wasn't wanting to try it in the soup. So, I made a few phone calls and ended up going to one of the bartenders house. I had to ride there and it was about 7-10 miles. As I was riding I thought I could feel cold water running down my legs. I wasn't going to look down, I couldn't see anything more than 10 feet in front of me anyway. Tail lights on cars were less than useful and I knew nobody could see my little tail light. So I had the Hazards on. The water was sheeting off of the wind screen like it was drizzling. I tried to smoke one on the way... but my cigarette was too damp to burn. I drove about 30mph to get there and when I jumped off the bike, my pant legs from the knee down looked like I had been in a down pour. The fog in my head light as I sat there looked like snow suspend in midair. I have seen some nasty fog in the mountains in TN... But I ain't never seen it like this:think:
  5. I got to offer up a warning.... I cut mine as stated, and I like th3e sound. But something strange is happening. It seems to run and move like an 1100 Sportser now...
  6. This is good news! Now lets hope for a max at sentencing. I do feel bad for his family, they are about to lose everything... well, everything that hasn't been moved into someone else's name over the last year. It is sad that the victim was shot and will suffer for the rest of his life. It is NOT sad that he received (a tiny bit) of justice. It won't make him walk agian... But it's better than seeing that scum bag get away scott free. It would be nice if the charges were equal to the crime. Not a single thing...
  7. Local hardware store only had the "Grey cap" heavy duty wheels... I think the "heavy duty" specification was a bit pessimistic. They were about a hard as an egg shell.
  8. Bit the bullet today. I cut my stock RSV mufflers It took a whole two hours start to finish. It also took 20 little 1 inch Dremel cut off wheels. I was scared as hell! But I tell ya, it's day and night. I love the new sound.

  10. With the method of cutting the tube; Is there enough change in the pressues to cause the need of rejetting or adjustment of the carbs?
  11. Well said Beer. Now that I know Mi is an open carry State, I carry one of my 1911s on my hip in a Galco single retention rig. If my shirt flys up, I don't care. I never leave home without my pal and a spare mag. I would rather be armed and never need it, than to be sitting somewhere wishing I had grabbed my gun.
  12. Ruffy, I'm going to have to formally bow out. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. All this Hope and Change has got me spread so thin my pay check are transparent. I have been renting a car for two months (out of pocket, ins only covers $600) while the Body Shop tries to get my car done... fell asleep at the wheel on the Highway, making my way home from work about three weeks be for Christmas... And he still ain't done with it. So, the next guy in line will be tickled with my misfortune.
  13. Mine Whines... but I just out run the noise.
  14. Hey Bubber the two young men pictured above are Monty's fine sons. Oddly, I don't have any real good photos of my son:think:... I got to work on that.
  15. Super HooHA!!!! My boy didn't get to make it home this time around. He heads out to Ranger School in two days. I'll get to see him in 63 days for graduation, then he heads off to Jump School. After that is Special Forces... My boys going 18 Delta:thumbsup2:
  16. In a recent thread and cell phone use, a few people were talking about the safety of newer cars than old. I can across this clip earlier today, I though it was eye opening. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joMK1WZjP7g]YouTube- Crash Test 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air VS. 2009 Chevrolet Malibu (Frontal Offset) IIHS 50th Anniversary[/ame]
  17. Harsh? Over the last 2-3 years, I have seen more people killed by someone texting than drunk driving. It involves every person on the road with them. From where I sit, a year in jail is just an eye opener. Or maybe they should just see pictures of a certain medic crawling over the bodies of two young children so that he/she could save their mother, who was under a cement truck.... With the phone still in her hand. I'm not a big fan of texting while driving...
  18. I think it should be a felony to to text while driving. It no different than waving around a loaded gun. Driving while talking on the phone without a hands-free device should also be a felony.
  19. If I remember correctly, they took it to "Pinks" pulling a trailer with an S10 Rat on it and got like 28mpg while doing so. Ended up racing the Dakota and winning... against a V8 powered S10 on the hose.
  20. LOL Love that flick! "Let's get involved!"
  21. The Diesel engine I am looking into gets 60 miles to the gallon... In a car that weighs what? A thousand pounds? What would that same engine get in a five-eight hundred pound Trike with allot less wind resistance?
