  1. That is my happy face...
  2. Thats an easy question to answer... I don't go to any state or business that does not recognize our inalienable right to defend ourselves. I'll go as far as to say that they should be stricken from the union. As to the question about the .380 here is a little ...light (LOL) reading for you. http://www.gunthorp.com/Terminal%20Ballistics%20as%20viewed%20in%20a%20morgue.htm .45 holes are big enough to let the stupid out.
  3. Clothing is always optional!!!
  4. There was a law recently signed I do believe, that will allow any LEO of any type to conceal anywhere within the contiguous US. I guess a shoulder rig or 511 vest is my best bet? I never travel anywhere without my .45.
  5. How do you carry while riding?
  6. OK you lost me on that one...I guess I'll be doing some reading.
  7. Brad, Chattanooga is AWESOME!! With you work experience you would not have any trouble finding work. Being that they are rebuilding the Dams in and around the area, you should not have any troubles. I was just there for a year and I tell ya bro, that place for ever more be called home. Places to look at for living around there are Soddy-Daisy, Signal Mountain, Lupton, Red Bank and Harrison as well as Ooltewah (Ou-Ta-Waa). North east twards Cleavland is nice too. Avoid the City if you can. No State income tax, 9% sales tax on every thing, low property tax (compared to MI) EDIT TO ADD- OH I forgot to mention $24 to reg your Cars,Scooters, Boats....Everything $24.00 !!! WOW!! And My auto ins came down $100.00 and (this I can't figure out) Credit scores went UP by 100 points just moving there. My personal pick is around the Soddy area. We are going down to Soddy at the end of September and will be there for a week if you are interested in coming down for a tour.
  8. A Harley?? Why on god's green earth would you want one of those.... HAHA Thanks for all the complements folks!
  9. LOL, I ain't gonna make a mess on the floor, but I have been know to say and do things that offend / scare more sensitive type of folks. I try really, really hard not, but the devil makes me do it.
  10. Dang Joe, I just went and looked at that and that looks simple enough. I'll be putting her on a lift tonight to see if she needs it. I got to put her up anyway so I can give her a good inspection. I found a drop of oil coming off the bottom of the rear shock.
  11. Hey Freebird!! How the hell you been? I gotta warn those who haven't met me yet. I'm not exactly house broken, my wifes been working on it and after ten years, she's getting close. I'm friendly enough, just a bit rough on the edges. Someone here abouts has some pics of me doing something....strange, up at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron. I'm hoping to find all of the pics of me and the wife but I'm not sure who had taken them. I sure like this bike. And I know you guys are going to see allot more of me over the years.
  12. OK I was going to write more last night, but I hadn't slept well for three days. Needless to say I was a bit on the excited side over getting another Venture. So by the time I got home last night, I was freakin exhausted!! I had the energy to post one picture and that was it. First off, I love this 2nd gen:rotfl: But she ain't anything like my old '84 with it's Mustang seat. I was able to put down about one hundred and fifty miles yesterday and Mama got some seat time as well. My first gen was the first fixed fairing bike I ever and like wise, my second gen in the first fork mounted... there is a huge difference between the two. The 04 seems to wander on the road a bit more and is pushed around by the wind. I'm guessing that not having a fixed fairing is what's causing that. But I have to wounder, the guy I bought it from just put new tires on it. He had Dunlop Elites put on it. And the front tire is actually a rear tire put on backwards...Ever heard of that? He said it makes the front tire last twice as long...OK but does it effect the handling?? Ok onward. The seat is comfy, but not like my first gen seat. I got monkey butt pretty quickly. But that might have been because I was wiggling in the seat allot, tryin to find that sweet spot. I guess I'll get used to it soon enough. I was expecting to hear a nice soft rumble while driving, but all I hear is the engine noise and the whine of those straight cut gears. I'm not a fan of the Harley sound so it's no big deal to me. I so impressed the low speed handling of this big bruiser!! The turning radius is a little long but I can do it with out sticking my foot out. She darn near stands up on her own at stop signs. I noticed I get a lot more wind on me on this bike over the '84. It has the wider wind screen but it still makes for a bit of cool air at night. It's a give and take I guess. It will be nicer in hot weather that the '84 which would kill me when it was hot, but in cooler weather I'm gonna have to dress like a biker All in all, I'm happier than a pig in ...well you get the idea. Now I just got to learn how to keep her clean. http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu178/Wheellock/100_1498.jpg http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu178/Wheellock/100_1504.jpg http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu178/Wheellock/100_1499.jpg

  15. Hey Squid, she is stoked about getting back on a bike after such a long time. So when we gonna get some grub? Ic23b, you still around Flint Town or did you bail out too? I escaped for a little while. We moved to Chattanooga Tn for a year. Then the Grand baby came and Mama wanted to come back... I was not happy about that, but damn, I love the woman, so I followed her. We need to get lunch some day soon.
  16. Thank you Annie, and good day! I got a shootin buddy over there, he just retired from the Army (forced) after 35 years. He is a bit of a nut, but in a good way. LOL. It's nice to get such a warm welcome:banana:
  17. Yea Dan, I cried like a baby...No really I did. She was a beauty and ran like a dream. I hated to part with her, but I still see her on the road, don't look nearly as good as she did. But I can't wait till noon tomorrow when I get to throw my leg over that Midnight. WARNING!! Next thread will be pic heavy! But now I got to learn a whole new bike. And I don't know where to start. I guess I learn just like I did with my '84:mo money:
  18. Yea man, that be the one!! Freaking dog left tooth marks on his fork!!! Last time I lead!
  19. Hello everyone, No on will remember me I used to hang out here close to 2.5 -3 years ago. Then I sold my bike and slumped into a deep dark depression...LOL My name is Art, I'm a medic up in Flushing Michigan, I rode with the VR crew out to Port Huron for a Eat and Greet. We also Met the crew in Frankinmuth for a luncheon ( I was leading the pack back to my place when one of the guys hit a dog...ring any bells?) Anyhow, I forgot my login info, so I started fresh. Monday I pick up my new bike.... 2004 Midnight VRS. She only has 24k miles on her and is in mint condition. I look forward to seeing everyone again ( Brad this means you) . Well I'm off the work at the Motocross track, y'all have a great day and we'll talk to you tonight.
