  1. I found the Avons locally front and back for 314.00 total if I bring in the wheels off the bike they will mount and balance for free seems like a good price now I have to just get up the courage to take the wheels off myself. I found the tech articles it doesn't seem like it would be to hard to do.
  2. I do already have the leveling links I'll wait to hear some more but I'm thinking that I will go with the Avons in the standard size
  3. Thanks for all comments so far. Goose it would seem that you prefer the Avon tire over the Elite 3's is that true and is there a reason
  4. I need to buy tires and I have a couple of question #1 - 150/80-16 or the narrower MT90B16 on the front #2 - how many of you put RIDE ON or some other product in your tires #3 - Is there anyone out there in WI that has a tire changer that would be willing to give me a hand changing my tires? I would appreciate the help! FYI - I am going to buy the Elite 3's for tires they seem to be the tire of choice for a majority of the people on this forum Thanks and ride safe Jeff
  5. Need new tires on my 07 midnight venture want to go with the Dunlop E3's or the Avon Venom. I know there are other threads but I was wondering if anyone has boughten tires lately and where's the best deal. When looking at other threads I don't think I could go wrong with either but whats your opinion. Also is there anyone near me, Appleton WI, that might have a tire changer that would be willing to give me a hand changing the tires as well as any other things that should be done while I have the tires off (I was really bummed that I wasn't able to make the maintanance day in WI this last weekend). One other thing are the tires we buy off the internet first quality tire my local dealer told me that places like Motorcyle super store and Denis Kirk are all selling second, tires with flaws, which I don't personally believe. I think that was his way to justify his price over $600 and that was for the standard oem replacements. Has anyone else ever heard of this UPDATE: Tell me what you think of this I went to a local shop that sells dunlop e3"s got a price of $325 installed I asked the about lubing the splines when they had the back tire off and they said it was unnessasary and all it does in make a mess and that they actually wipe off anmy lube on the spline if there is any. So what gives I've seen tech articles on this site on how to lube this spline so it makes me wonder if i should even consider this dealer what do you think Thanks Jeff
  6. Any thought on a date yet and if not anybody willing to give me a hand with a carb sync and anything else that you think I should be checking 07 midnight 11,000 miles seems to be running great to me, I had it into the shop at 6,000 miles but I'm sure there are things that should be check Thanks Jeff

  9. The products on Kisans web site look very cool as well as a real asset to our safety. I noticed that they offer a discount to clubs have we applied for that discount as a club or have we already and if so how do we get the discount if we have not and I can help in getting the ball rolling on this I would be happy to help Jeff
  10. Ross You could always buy the replacements from Rick Bulter he has his set up so you don't need any tools for removall of your truink and side bags and if that doesn't interest you I would bet he can tell you what size you need. He has an add in the classified section Good Luck Jeff
  11. We are planning a late June trip around Lake Superior as well as a weekend in door county. I have to say though last summer was my first with my Venture and one think that this winter has made me relize is all the time I wasted last summer when I could have been riding I plan on fixing that from now on

  14. how long did it take for you to get your carbon 1 lift adapter I'm going to order one and was just curious what the lead time has been for people that have already bought one, also I know this has been discussed but what lift should I buy i'm looking at the better one from Harbor freight around 80.00 bucks. Thanks in advance for your feedback Jeff
  15. Yes the washers are in on both the nut and bolt head ends
  16. Well I installed my leveling links last night was pretty easy but I have 1 question, I used the new bolts supplies by Diamond R when I had the new bolts tight to 36 ft/lbs with torque wrench there was a small amount of slop, you could push the bolt back and forth maybe 1/16" I did not notice this when I took the other ones off but that doesn't mean it wasn't there is this the way its suppose to be? I have rode the bike to try out the new links WOW what a difference it definetly makes a difference in the handling if you don't have them on your bike yet I would reccomend them. Diamond r - what great service I ordered a backrest, L.E.D. brakelight for under my trunk and the leveling links on Fri and had them on Mon. I talked with Patty on the phone and she was very freindly and helpfull. Then yesterday I received an e-mail telling me that she crediting back 20 bucks because shipping wasn't as much as anticipated how many places do that now days Jeff
  17. well the dealer replaced the battery under warranty. Thanks everyone for your input Jeff

  19. I have an 07 rsv bought new in july of 08 had it to the dealer in june of 09 and they said the batery would not charge up past 80%. When they told me that they asked if I keep the battery on a battery tender because the charging systen on the Venture is not designed to increase the charge on the battery just maintain what is there and that I should put it on a battery tender every night. That made no sense to me have any of you ever heard this before? Anyway so I bought a battery tender and have been using it and it never gets past the 80% charge range until about a week ago then it read fully charged. Now today I go out to ride and the battery is dead nothing was left on I did not have it on the tender over night I put it on my regular charger and it was chrged in less than 1 hour. 12 volt 10 amp charge rate. This battery is less than 1 year old and the dealer says its not covered under warranty? When I read through the warranty it seems to me that it should be anybody ever have any experience with this Thank Jeff
  20. Does anybody make a shift indicator as an add on for an 07 rsv and if so has anyone installed and used it?
