There was a problem with rear driveshaft failures on some of them. Like any bike you hear about the bad stuff way more than the good stuff. Big news was when it happened to 4 or 5 Iron Butt rallyists a couple years ago all at the same time. Made BIG NEWS then! Oh and BMW is like any other manufacturer and says out of warranty it's your fault. Do a google search for BMW driveshaft failures. I have ridden one on a demo ride and did like it though.

I belong to support the riders rights. Haven't even paid any attention to the assistance or much else. I know they have it but my intent is to give them money to help me and all my fellow riders.

For me, it just fit right. I'm not a small guy. I've ridden a friends 'glide and it seemed small. I LOVE the engine! Wind this sucker up and it just goes and goes. as well as lasting forever! The bike comes with everything on it that many companies charge extra for. Didn't mind the cassette cause I used my xm radio cassette adapter there. If the worst thing someone can complain about the Venture is that it has a cassette, then you don't have any real problems in your life. I don't have any chirps or whines or anything else that would make it less perfect. My only problem is that tires and brakes wear out!

Kenny, great to see you guys again and way too good to bring Nancy along. That was fantastic. We got home late last night. We had a great time there and got to meet more new friends. After leaving the group we went to Beale Street and partied there. Got to see our favorite bluesman, Victor Wainwright, and just had more fun than we deserved. Our first trip in our new to us 30 year old motorhome. Let's just say that Chevy Chase and Robin Williams had nothing on us. :rotfl:Friends and good deeds and good times more than made up for the craziness. See you guys soon!

Lewis, Dee and I are heading down Thursday afternoon. Going to stay at a State Park there in South Memphis. Have to hit up Beale Street, one of our favorite bluesmen is playing at Wet Willies this weekend. See you guys Saturday at Flying J !

I will be staying at the park itself with any luck. Dee and I hope to be getting a motorhome in the next week or so. Used but loved, so hope to have some fun with it. Lot's of great camping sites at the park. Not sure about cabins. Check out Missouri state parks site for info. Lots of caverns, rivers, fishing, hiking, good riding and all that.

Don't forget that weather wise this year is the exception. Usually, late August is damn near too hot and humid to ride and really enjoy it. Just sayin'.

I ride out there quite a bit. Seems once you get off of I44 folks stay away. Go down south to Potosi, and then take off from there. On the weekends it is sportbike heaven though.

Can't go wrong with Meremac Park. right on the river, activities, beautiful and riding that darn near rivals Arkansas! South out of there you can't go wrong. Sounds good.

I had 154,000 miles on my 1st gen. I think the first owner checked them around 100,000. I never did. Ran like a top when I sold it. No engine related issues at all.

Well that may be but I do work until 5am on Saturday morning and may not be able to leave at the crack of dawn. Would still like to catch up with the group though if possible.
