  1. Strats are a nice machine, lots of power and fun to ride. I remember about 5 or 6 years ago at Freebirds maintenance day we changed the rear tire out on Stardbogs Strat to a darksider tire. He was a little on the fence to take it for the 1st ride. I said move out the way and I'll git after it. Got on it and rode it like I stole it (not really stole, but it sounds good for effects) I liked it and if I could afford a couple in the stable I would seriously think about having one.
  2. Welcome to the group, you're in the right spot. Thank you for your service brother, did 6 years in Uncle Sam's yacht club myself.
  3. That trailer has some serious miles on it. I put atleast 25000 miles on it. You can't get those style of truck boxes anymore. They all have the lip on them for sliding under the back lip of a pickup bed. I really would like to build a single wheel one.
  4. Welcome to the group Derek, lots of information here and plenty of good folks.
  5. I would look at the miles on the actual bike. This is a case where low mileage may not be a good thing. To find a decent motor that is known to run is worth atleast $500. Offer up $1200 and see what happens.
  6. The trunk that originally was on there had speakers in it. There should be a connector under the passenger seat that could be used.

  8. That's exactly what I was thinking as well.
  9. That could be your culprit right there. Seafoam will clean sludge out of an engine as well.
  10. Looking at the pics of the valve cover gasket, it looks pretty worn and cracked. Did you start using synthetic oil in it? I started having leaks on an 86 I had once I started using synthetic in it after I bought it. The synthetic oil will clean sludge deposits and sometimes with older gaskets and then the sludge getting cleaned out of age cracks, they can start to seep.
  11. Most RSTDs I've seen have a short passenger backrest on them. Is that not the case with yours? Are you looking to have a taller sissy bar, or just something for passenger support?
  12. Absolutely, certain Dutchman have a knack for making pepperettes 🙂
  13. Welcome to the group, lots of goid info here on pretty much whatever you want to do with your bike.
  14. Swung a leg over it and had a beautiful 54 degree ride into work this morning, gonna be in the mid 80s going home 👍
  15. Yeah, I want to try something different. I've been on 1st and 2nd gen Ventures since 2004. Had 5 1st gens and 4 2nd gens. It's time for something a little different. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere, I love all you nuts here, especially you crazy Canadians!
  16. Thanks for all your efforts for us brother.
  17. Good on ya Puc! As long as you're enjoying yourselves and puttin wind in your face, life is good 🌞
  18. Good on ya, I'm hoping to get rid of my RSV this year and get an F6B Goldwing. It's ironic how we can become so attached to these machines.
  19. Fishing sounds much better
  20. When you get the stem, make sure you buy a 90 degree stem. You can angle it out better so that it's easier to check the pressure and inflate it. BTW I'm running the 777s on my 02 RSV and I think you'll like them.
  21. Sorry to hear of the accident, but relieved it's you telling us. We'll get on the lookout for another machine for you if you would like.
