  1. Welcome to the forum Dusty, lots of information and great folks here 👍
  2. Welcome back brother 👍
  3. That's better known as the choke. Sometimes the linkage isn't set right and can tend to keep the enriching circuit open and this will cause the bike to run rich. The actual mechanical portion of it is on the side of each carburetor.
  4. $250 for both bags and $75 for the dash as long as they are in good serviceable shape.
  5. There's plenty of VR brothers all over the country that woukd be more than willing to give a hand if something happened on your trip. You only live once, git after it and plan it! Hell, I might have to take a couple days and catch up with you 👍
  6. Big Bend is a cool place to stop and see. The Marfa lights are cool as well. You can take the river road through Del Rio and watch Mexico go by on the other side of the river. If you get over by Houston let me know, always room for a VR brother.
  7. If memory serves me correctly others have used this Mr. Gasket S42 pump. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_pumps_regulators_and_filters/fuel_pumps/carbureted_fuel_pumps/carbureted_electric_fuel_pumps/parts/42S
  8. Bottom line is if you're looking at it for resale, I would pass. You're going to have a lot of work changing an engine and that will negate a quick turn with good profit. If you're looking to have a full touring bike to enjoy, and you have the spare time to put into it, I'd say git after it.
  9. I've run them before on one of my 1st gens. I was really happy with their performance.
  10. That song just put a huge smile on my face brother 😁 You're a brother that's easy to love, have a great day my friend! 🌞
  11. I have ridden several Vulcan, they are a solid machine. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger as long as it appears to be somewhat taken care of.
  12. Just tighten that bolt up and check the others. There's an o ring under them and as long as it's still pliable it will seal back up.
  13. I won't tell anyone about you wearing that one 😉
  14. Not the F6B yet Puc. I have ridden the past generation 2000 to 2019 and they are a great machine. We'll have to see what the good Lord has planned for me and if the budget will cooperate.
  15. Actually, I targeted submariners. I was an H2 helo mechanic, cruised on the USS Elmer Montgomery back I in the late 80s early 90s.
  16. Gary, I've been running the Shinko 777s on my 02. I've been happy with their performance so far. They are less expensive but don't last quite as long as some of the others. I've got about 10k on my front and it shows hardly any wear. I'm darksiding right now, but fixin to throw a matching 777 on the rear very soon.
