    I'll let jhw answer on the 1100 .. The ST1300 is pretty good as long as you keep a tight reighn on the right hand, which is really hard to do some time .. I avg about 42mpg intown and have gotten as much as 54mpg on a 55mph freeway with the cruise on ... At 70mph freeway w/cruise it is consistent 48mpg ... Course when the right hand gets away from ya, it drops to 38mpg.

    They are aftermarket ... I have the MCCruise on my 1300, lots of folks put the Audiovox Cruise on the 1100 ... Both work well ..

    Have a couple of friends here with ST 1100 and I have a ST 1300 .. They are bullet proof just like the ole 1g Ventures .. Both the ST have over 100K and I have about 35K on my ST1300 .. NO PROBLEMS at all .. They are great sport tourers, a lot like the 1g bikes just a lot lighter and more guts .. If it is a late model that your friend has then it is a good deal .. Little clean up and she should be good to go ..

    That is the proto 2010 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager ... Pretty bike, but very thin on warranty (12 months) and goodies ... You can see it now on the Kawasaki site ... does have cruise, AM/FM/Intercom and a huge price for either XM or CB option to fit on the radio .. The Standard Vulcan AM/FM is about $750 if I remember right ..

    Firestik makes a excellent splitter replacement and can recommend it completely .. As far a AM/FM goes, the FL3 Firefly is what I ran on my RSV for 8 years .. No problem encountered ... I am now running a 2' Firestik II on my ST1300 for AM/FM and CB (J&M 2003) and it works perfectly ... This was a modified MarshallMod using basically same design as the MarshallMod but used the shorter antenna ...

    Check your post and email on the Venturers Site... Answered both there .. PS, make sure your mute button isn't activated on the passenger controller or the main handlebar controller .. More I think about this, the more I am leaning toward a stuck squelch pot. If you try to talk with someone close by, it should break the squelch .. Still, it could be the antenna, splitter or coax has given out due to age ..

    No change in mileage, just sound .. Got a little better with the K&N and Iridium change but not sure which one caused it .. Prob the K&N's ...

    Deb on her Vulcan, me on the RSV, did that a couple of years ago. But at each big intersection or cross roads, we would pull over and flip a coin .. Heads we went to the left, Tails to the Right .. GPS was not allowed until the end of the trail and we had to get home ... Started in Acworth GA on a Wednesday and on Saturday we were in Boone NC .. Saw so much, I could not even tell you what all we did see .. But we did a lot of roads from Acworth to Boone and saw more exciting stuff than I will ever be able to remember ... Came back on Sunday down the BRP to Asheville then on over to NC 64 and home again .. Was the most wonderful ride WE have ever had ...

    What is the License Fee for GMRS these days ??? Know they used to have a 5 year license but not sure what the License Fee is ... ::: A few minutes later ::: Oh, they just raised the license fee to $80 for the 5 year ticket ...

    +1 On the J&M2003 CB system .. Yes it is pricey, but IMHO the most reliable of all the radios out there with a lot of other options, AM/FM or XM or Sirus, or Ipod or any walkman or totally quiet if that is what she would prefer .. I have the J&M CB with XM on my wifes Vulcan .. She loves it ..

    This sounds like white noise that is sometimes generated through the mike if you do not have the sock over the mike or if there is a hole in the sock letting wind rush over the mike .. When you are not transmitting, you are hearing the wind over the mike through the intercom and when you are transmitting, the wind rushing over the mike is also transmitted .... Worth checking your mike sock ...

    That is outstanding news ... Had only used the Wilson once long time ago and remembered we had a lot of trouble getting the SWR right .. Glad it all worked out for you and will remember these steps in case the Firefly ever gives me trouble .. So far on the Firestik Firefly and Firestik II have had no difficulty at all ...

    Doubt it is the Fold-over .. Have used them for the past 9 years on both 1g and RSV installs and have never had one spec of trouble from them, other than a little slop ever now and then ... I am not really sold on the Wilson antenna. Have used them once or twice but have always had problem tuning them lower than 1.7:1 at CH 20 and then using that as the lowest dip, would measure 1 and 40 to ensure they were not above 2.0:1 ... Because of this, have stuck with the Firestik Firefly and Firestik II antennas ... My latest adventure has been on the Honda ST1300. 99% of the owners who have install CB's have gone with the NGP (No Ground Plane) antennas .. Reckon they work OK, but went the old fashion way, and used the 2' Firestik II antenna .. SWR tuning was right in line with what I have found on the 1g and RSV .. Personally from what I have read here, I am betting on the Antenna not being compatible for use on a bike ... It happens .. KA KA Occurs !!!

    OOPs, Actually $.05 comes up to $1.55 a month .. My bad ... You have it set for $2.00 so that is a better donation ... Basis for a year at $.05 a day is $20.00, so maybe that would be the better way, no, yours would bring in $24.00 a year .. OH well forget it .... Just a thought .... Never wuz very gud at math ...

    Suggestion , set your "Subscriptions" like we did on the other side of the river ... $.05 a day .. This spot is definately worth that, which would also give you a good yearly basis for donations ...

    $3.38 all over N. Charleston SC today .. Marina was $4.35 and need to fill up my 105 gal tank for this weekend ... OUCH !!!! Will be picking up the boat from DryStack Thursday and putting it on the trailer to get the lower price .. Still gonna hurt big time ... Filled up my STeed yesterday and it was little over $16 ...

    Hi Jeremy ... This is in answer to your email and some thoughts ... The Firestik splitter should not be the problem .. The pots adjust SWR only and have no effect on the receive side .. Do you have any volume control on the CB and I take it the squelch is not doing its job, even when turned fully clockwise (Should get quiet up there at the stop, or before) .. Since there are only 2 connections on the CB, coax and power/audio/PTT plug make sure they are good and tight ... Sounds like maybe the squelch pot may have bit the dust .. I really doubt very seriously that changing out the antenna would cause any harm on the receiving side and you said you had set the SWR OK in your email, so that would not be the problem either ... Check all your connections again coming out of the splitter .. Should only be two, one to the AM/FM and the coax going to the back of the CB ...

    Well, reckon I am the only one who uses their cb consistently ... Have it on all the time .. Talk to truckers and local LEO's who run their secret channel *35* .. The call me the conceerned citizin ... hahaha .. Have called in a couple of accidents to the locals here and they have responded quickly. Probably one of the few cities around that still have CB in their car ... Talk to other bikers when I see they have dual antennas ... I have been a CB guy for probably 45 years .. Shoot, when I started, there were only 6 channels and you had to pay for your license ... KOD-8699 which turned into Unit 99 in the early skip days, to HB, ... CB has saved my bootie more time than I can remember ... Wrecks, Dead Animules, ticket givvers ....

    Don, not sure if you remember Tracy who used to do our work .. She is OUTSTANDING and is already setup to do hats, shirts, just about anything with a Venture on it ...
