  8. Just got back home today from a 1743 mile trek here in Texas. Cliff Wall a friend I met on the 2010 RAT ride was coordinating a SS1000 Iron Butt ride yesterday with the Motorcycle Touring Forum. I signed up and was the only Iron Butt rider. It was from Ft Worth to Fort Stockton, to Sanderson and back up to Austin and back to Ft Worth. Left work on Friday at noon and got back to Pearland around 2p. While riding 349 from Dryden off of Hwy 90 back up to I-10 which was a real nice ride, sorta like the Big Bend river ride. I came over one rise and seen a deer walking across the road ahead of me, it stops in my lane and is looking at me coming. I am slowing and sounding both air horns, it still looking at me. I would have had plenty of time to slow and stop, but as I got closer the deer finally went off the road. I believe it finally heard the clutch whine cause I know it was really hurting my ears. My MP3 had died earlier on the ride so thats all I had to listen to. Oh well won't complain anymore if it helped me, who knows. Great 2 day ride, but I am typing this standing up.
  9. Have a great Bit day

  20. Hammer time was for a couple of shims that needed alittle extra work to get out. It worked. Went thru Ponch and mine shim kit of 275 shims, shims that came out were either 279 or 281. We had 3 valves that we did nothing to. Your right, it was the first time for the bike at 62k. I kind of forgot getting this done when it was first due at 26k.
  21. Mollie & I want to THANK everyone for coming and helping us out to make it a great day. We had fun visiting with everyone as always. My friend Randy who showed up called me later to tell me that you'al were a great group was of people, of which I wholeheartly agree. Thats what I love about this site and the people you get to meet. Can't thank Ponch, Kreg & George enough for helping with the work on my bike to do the valve check and adj. It is alot of work, mainly tearing down the bike and putting it back together. But I learned alot, after performing this procedure, would not hestiate to take it on myself the next time. Ponch also adjusted the carb floats which were out of spec. Got to clean up the carb real good too. Got the bike put back together today and did a carbtune and went for a ride. Runs good. Here are a few pics I got to take, thanks kreg and janet for your pics. Thanks again, Perry & Mollie
  22. Everyone have a safe ride to Pearland. Wait for this fog to lift. Roads are slick right now. See ya

Have only my one lift adapter which will be holding my bike for the valve adj. Have a Carbtune, if needed. I am off on Friday getting the bike torn down for Sat. So anybody needs anything or has a question about directions, give me a call or send me a PM. Here is the address again: Bring yourselves, weather should be great. 2713 Pebble Creek Dr. Pearland, tx 77581 832-274-3618 cell 281-997-2248 Hm (Crear Creek Sub-Div) look for Mollies bike and sons R6 in front of house.
