  1. Just once!!! On our way home, on the last day of a long trip down to the east coast. Fully loaded with luggage and roll bag. Pulled into a road side stop for gas and a much needed brake off the 401 just west of Toronto. Went to park after a sharp turn and .......... down I went. Wasn't really moving at the time. I was just beat and didn't have the energy (mentally or phyisically) to hold it up. Was smart enough to tuck and roll as they say. The first I did was jump up, look around to see if anyone seen the bone head lying on the ground beside his bike. Thankfully only one couple looked over at me. My riding buddy helped me set it back up and checked for damage. Nada!!! Lesson learned I guess..... when your tired like that, just pull into a spot and park it.
  2. Close to MY house you say.......hmmmmm Well, since I live in Stoney Creek, just a stones throw from Dunnville, (many a coffee at Timmys' there), my favorite ride is the same as YOURS!!! Only difference is, coming back out of Port Delusie I take the north service road beside the QEW all the way to Hwy 20 and home. Try to make this my annual "first ride" with good weather of the season. All winter we talk about our "Niagara Run"...... Can't Wait!!!
  3. That is one sweet ride. Someday I hope something like that will follow me home too...
  4. Bought my 07 RSDT this year with 24,000 kilometers on it. This year so far I put on just over 20,000 for a total of 44,000 and counting. Still a few rides left I hope.
  5. I put support brackets on my RSTD for the very reason you are concerned about. The original idea came from Carbon One. He pointed them out to me as we were crawling around under his trike. I made my brackets are a lil different than his but do the same job. I couln't get them to fit the same way Freebird has them in his pics. My bars don't move at all now. I can apply as my pressure to my pegs and they are rock solid. I actually layed the bike down (NOT on purpose) it was a long day, I was whipped and just couldn't hold it up when stopped and down she went...... The supports worked great. If you are interested I'll be happy to take pics. I know Carbon One was thinking of making brackets for sale but was very busy at the time. Ed
  6. Great to hear all are back safe and sound. Great trip, great ride, great friends, all with great "food" too.......
  7. Iv'e installed the Stebel (deluxe model) on my 07 TD. I fits in nicely, no trouble with the wiring getting hot or the air intake. It dosen't seem to be awkward to me. I used Carbon Ones' bracket with a spacer. He offered to make a longer armed one for me, but the spacer works fine. The chrome matches perfect with the rest of the engines chrome.
  8. :thumbsup:Myself and a friend have dealt with Radio World. Have not had any problem with them at all. We both run the Zumo 550. Unfortunately we aren't hooked up to XM, so I can't help you there.
  9. On my way out to the garage now. Thanks for the heads up. Damn.... I love this site, learn something every time I come on here.
  10. In a pinch, either on soft pavement or in grass thay may be soft I've used a flattened beer/pop can.
  11. I once had a bad relay. Switched it out and the horn worked fine.
  12. My thoughts and prayers for your friend. Being so close to home, it hits a lil harder.
  13. I just put the same break peddle cover on my 07 RSTD. Thanks for the heads up and you rubber strips. Will keep an eye on it. I do agree......... for that kind of money they "shouldn't" come off.grrrrrrr
