  1. WHOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Anniversary! The hubby and I celebrated our 30th last week while on vacation!! Congrats to both of you!
  2. Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri........ Missed the whoopla up at Don's but had a great ride with our son's and their wives/girlfriends. Man, is it hot in Kentucky!!! 110 degree heat index the whole time and had to dodge storms everyday. God was good to us....we all made it home safe!
  3. Thanks Yammer....I just didn't know if a certain brand was better than others.
  4. Thanks, but I leave in an hour and don't have a computer at home. Hopefully someone can chime in quick......
  5. ok wiseguys....I was doing a search on batteries and hit the wrong button. Maybe you goofballs can help me out...We leave tomorrow and the hubby just called and said we have battery acid on the floor under the bike. He's sending me to get a new one and I was looking for info on what would be a good one to get. All I have is a Walmart to choose from....any idea's? Thanks
  6. battery
  7. Just noticed that you live in Opelousas! The hubby and I have been to LA 2 times, and both were to your town!!! Our partner company owns Evangeline Downs and they brought us down there to show us the property. Both times were in July and it was so hot and humid, I about died! One of the guys that led us around on a tour had a crawfish boil party at his house. I had never eaten it before, but I was brave enough to eat the head off! Anyway, it was about 95 degrees that day with about 120% humidity.....he had the COLDEST beer I have ever drank in my life! It was a great party and a memory I will always treasure! Just thought it was funny when I saw you lived there and that's the only town I've ever been in down there, except for spending a few days in New Orleans.
  8. The hubby and I are heading out tomorrow to pick up 2 of our sons and their wives and heading to Kentucky/Tennesee for a week!! Can't wait to get the heck out of here! Had a little trouble with our rear tire on Memorial weekend (picked up a nail and ruined it)and the only thing the dealer had was a Dunlop whitewall. So, if you see a 05 Midnight Venture with a whitewall rear tire and a black front one tooling down the road in your area, don't laugh. :crackup:Just give us a wave and know that even though we may look funny, we're still having a ball!!!!
  9. Well, here's my 2 cents..... I believe if you take the thing a ma jig and twist it a little then screw it back over the whatcha ma call it, then fasten it down with a little goo it will help. Next your going to want to take the doo hickey on the lower left side and with a screw driver (doesn't matter, Phillips or Flat head) attach it to the thing a ma bop located under the coil spring. Now that you've done that....the most important step is to grab one of those pygmies you keep yakkin about and bungee cord him to your luggage rack with a gremlin bell attached to his you know what. Good Luck! (If I had pix of the procedure I would have posted them, sorry!)

    Mom

Jeff, Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family from Gary and I. Deb
  11. I am anxiously awaiting it. Hope it gets here soon as we leave Fri night. I'll let you know as soon as I get it!
  12. Now I don't want to hear any grief from anyone about this (Just remember that thread that the men started about what kind of underwear they like while riding)....but the best advice I got is to pack your old underwear and socks. Every day after they've been used....I throw them away. I too, am low maintence...no makeup, etc. But I can't stand having dirty socks and underwear in my bag. Last year Gary and I rode 5,000 miles up to Canada and back. I had my dad go through all his old socks and I had some underwear that had seen it's better day. Each day the load got a little lighter. Now matter how long our trip is...I wear 1 pair of jeans and pack one.2 or 3 T shirts. One warmer pullover. PJ's. The only shoes I bring are the boots I ride with and a cheap pair of floppie thongs, because if it's hot it feels good to let your feet breathe at night when your done riding. The other thing...if you wear contacts, make sure and bring an extra set. Never fails...I always lose one while we are on vaca. Hope you have a great time!
  13. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I about busted a gut on that one!!! Thanks for the Monday morning laugh!!!
  14. Well, I'm going to throw my 2 cents in......My sister in law drives a 650 V Star and I think it would be to small for him... I understand he's just going to be learning on it, but if it's a bike your going to keep for a few years, it isn't going to be comfortable for you, the passenger. Good luck on what ever you decide! Welcome to the site!
  15. You need to change your name to "Hints from Heloise" Seriously though.....I printing this one off and taking home to the hubby!!
  16. You are too funny!!!:crackup:Loved the pix. Gary and I take the boy's to Kentucky at the end of next week, and Gary would like to come home through Missouri. When I first saw your post, I thought, oh man....we gotta do that, but after seeing the pix of the steel, I don't think I'm even going to tell the hubby about it. Looks like a great ride. Just for the fun of it.....how many miles of gravel did you have to travel on. Dane just bought a new bike, so I don't think I could talk him into driving on much gravel. Tell Lisa hi and I have a new respect for her bravery!!!
  17. Looks like you got the bargain of the day!!!
  18. Thanks to everyone who responded!! I ended up ordering this one and hope to have it in a week! You couldn't beat the price, and it's what I was looking for!! You guys are great!
  19. Hey Squid! That's what I'm looking for....just a quick question....is it easy to get into? Our friends bag had a zipper that goes all the way around the top so it opened up the whole topof the bag. This one looks like it's a zipper that goes straight across. Is that right? Boy, you can't beat the price on it!
  20. http://img1.jpcycles.com/product/831-495_A.jpgOur friends have a T Bag that sits on top of their luggage rack. They have an Harley Ultra Classic. The brand is T Bag, but it's designed for the Ultra Classic. This isn't the exact picture, but close. It's got a few zipper pouches and water bottle pockets. Our luggage rack for the Venture is smaller. I have looked at JP Cycle but I'm not seeing anything that would fit our rack. Does anyone have a website and picture of one that fits the Venture. We're leaving on vacation in 10 days, and I'd really like to have one by then, that I can order. I don't care what brand it is, but hopefully I can keep the cost reasonable. Thanks for any help!! Deb
  21. SWEET!!! One of the nicest side car setups I've seen!
  22. Bryan, Just wanted to say thanks for posting the pix. It looked like a wonderful day!!!!
  23. Just want to say a big thank you to you! After reading your post I ordered a set!! They sound great and for people like me with small ears they fit terrific!!!
  24. :cool10::cool10: Nice to see another gal riding her own bike!! WhooooHooooo!!!!
  25. I don't know how to post the video that went with this report, but the woman actually looks like she's going to start laughing....and now she's suing for false imprisonment? Does anybody take any responsibility for their own actions anymore? Maybe she should have brought a babysitter along with her to wake her up from her nap. It's trivial lawsuits like this that make me boil! Sorry for the ranting, but jeez...... By Janelle Long, WXYZ A woman from Ferndale, Mich. is suing United Airlines after she was left alone on a plane for hours after it had landed. Ginger McGuire was aboard a United Express flight from Washington, DC to Philadelphia. She says she fell asleep during the flight. It landed shortly after midnight Tuesday but no one woke her up until a cleaning crew found her four hours later. United Airlines says they are working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn't cleared upon landing. McGuire told reporters, "I fell asleep on the plane and next thing you know I wake up, it's 4:00 in the morning. Nobody's on the plane. Nothing." McGuire has hired Geoffrey Fieger who is filing a lawsuit for false imprisonment, emotional distress and negligence.
