Hey,,, just so you is fully aware,, I've been dealing with meat all my life, I've had to help birth it, feed it, water it, clean it, chase it, rope it, then make it quit moving, hang it, take it down, dissect it, chop it, grind it, slice it, stuff it, roll it, bone it out, put it back together, disguise it, flavour it, cook it and maybe even dump it. That why they call me a butcher, but I call me a meat processor. Now I is hoping you are somewhat better informed.

Yah!! I have wrenched with you at times. I understand your explanation, but doubt the reasoning.

Wish I could it looks good, but I don't see the finished product.

If you trike the Venture that will solve the top heaviness, but if you go with a Wing then you still have the leg problem. I also find that the Wing tends to push me forward and I have to keep re-seating myself during a trip.

Nah, then I would have to buy a bike to make use of them, so I'm out!

I would think that if you want to keep the benefits of going to a 150 tire, you would be well advised to got to a 150 wheel or the tire beads will be too close together to give the desired form on the riding surface, hence alter the contact patch.

Triple Tree problem
Marcarl replied to Patmac6075's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Then you should be able to loosen the upper tree and slide the whole works down and out. There will be nothing holding the tubes in place. You will have to be careful to lower them at the same rate or they will cause each other to bind. You will also have to remove the brake calipers and the fork brace that is between the forks at the fender level, and the fender as well, and oh,the front wheel. 😊 -
Triple Tree problem

Okay, so you have me a bit confused. You mention you have no problem with the top pinch bolts and then you talk about the upper Allen bolts that you are having trouble with. For me it's confusing. There is a ciriclip that goes around the fork tube to prevent the tube from sliding up too far, so if you are wanting to remove the lower triple tree with tubes attached, I think that would be possible. BTW, the torque on the pinch bolts is only 12lb if I remember correctly. -

No, sorry didn't notice that, it was a waaaay too short for that to happen. -
Yah, I tried that trick as well, to get another dummy seat. Couldn't find one so tackled the one I had and surprised myself at being able to get it done, no problem. The biggest issue was getting the staples back in when I finished, but I had my wife handy with an electric stapler. She was also the one who volunteered to feel where my butt bones located on the seat after the cover was removed.

It's going to take about 500mi to get that thing fully under your belt, but you'll like it just fine when you get there.

Carb slide question
Marcarl replied to Abnorml's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The slides will vibrate more than slide at idle. If you twist the throttle then they should move to a greater degree but they still will have a vibration pattern rather than sliding open and closed. -
Sounds like you had an awesome trip.

Oh Oh, best put your name in for a new residence. -
First thing is that as we grow older we change and it never seems to be for the better. I hear that a lot. That doesn't mean that we can't improve from a low spot, it just means we'llnever be younger again. Second and more meaningful: It will depend on where your ache is. I have no butt so always have your issue. Can't sit on a wooden chair for long or a MC seat for more than 1 hr without getting a sore butt. On my 85 I removed the seat cover and then discovered where my butt bones resided. That's where I gouged out two holes to re-leave the pressure on those bones, one on either side. Much better!

If you use the solid type it won't leak so bad when it's sitting,,, at least so I have heard. And @saddlebum all you need to do to get it in the crankcase is to warm it up. On the tire question? May I suggest you get a round one with some tread left on it? It would be helpful if it held air as well I suppose. -
Turn Signals Not Working

Could be the relay. Did you check the fuses with a multi meter, or just look at them?
