  1. I never needed to get that bearing out of there, but by the looks of your pictures it should come straight off once you loosen the 3screws and that might give more info as to why and where the balls went. The plastic gear might have been damaged by somebody jamming the clutch basket back in place,,,,, maybeand then a real big maybe that a piece of the gear took out the bearing. As far as removing the oil pan while still in the bike???? I wouldn't. I think you would be better off taking it out. Getting it off would not be the issue so much as getting things back together proper.
  2. Further, I think it might be the oil pump idler part #26H-13351-01-00
  3. If memory serves me correct I think there is a plastic gear behind the clutch basket and it's yellow, and I agree with @cowpucthat anything laying under the basket is not engine internal.
  4. I really hope that he had found the way to everlasting peace, he didn't have much of that when he was here. Hope to be meeting him again in much better environment.
  5. You KILLED 'em! They were supposed to be dead already.
  6. Did you check power going into that fuse and coming back out? Also, check battery voltage with the ignition turned on. There are 2 red wires coming from the battery positive, follow the small on to find the main fuse.

    I'm Back!

I'm not in Kentucky or in Tennessee, but welcome back anyways. Don't think we've changed a whole lot.
  8. I don't know if it's written out at all, but you would be most welcome to go bigger.
  9. I don't thin that there would be one given thread on all that, but you should be able to find different opinions here and there. You'll need to tell us more about your bike and exactly what it is you want to do. If it's a first gen then post in the 1st gen forum, if it's a 2nd gen then in the 2nd gen forum.
  10. When I bought my Ram a couple of years ago, we had to do a little wrangling as well. I left and returned a few days later to pick it up for it had not been serviced yet. Last thing I said to the salesman was: so that's it? all done and happy? to which he replied: Yep, good to go! I still had a 40k bank draft in my pocket,,,,, I just couldn't do it! Later though I would have after I found out I wasn't dealt with near properly. Nice ride Don, enjoy!!!
  11. 4-5 lbs if I remember correctly.
  12. I bet you be a Happy Camper. Love it when things go better than expected.
  13. So who caught you? Inquiring minds need to know!
  14. Guess I haven't been around as long as @saddlebum, I didn't know all that.
  15. That washer is not a flat washer, it's cupped a bit. You might be able to use a flat washer but I haven't heard if that would work though.
  16. Good news you guys, love it when things happen over and above.
  17. I bought a vacuum cleaner just for that process, cleaning up spider pieces. Now once I get it out of the box I then have to learn how to drive it, shouldn't be too too hard, it says it has 4 wheels.
  18. And make sure you have the air filter in place with the lid on.
  19. He could either wear a thicker soled shoe or maybe lower the bike some. Both ideas work well.
  20. The only thing not safe about it would be if he had to cross the border after a shopping trip wit his dad.
  21. Welcome back little boy. Don't worry none about the Spyder thing, they are a great machine for some including yours truly. About the only discussion going on here is about likes and dislikes, for these machines seem to need very little in the way of repair.
  22. Actually there is not a lot in there, but without 1 stupid little spring, it's all kind of useless.
  23. Yep, know all about that. Less than 5 minutes to get things lost, whole job about 4 hrs. 3hrs 45 min on hands and knees checking out what was on the floor or elsewhere.
  24. Might as well clean the whole carb while you are there anyways. After you figure out the first one the rest should be the same.
