  1. Pull the left sidecover and look above the rear footpeg there should be a round shaped electric fuel pump visible. Pull the bottom hose off of this. There should be a full flow of gas out of this hose. If not then your fuel filter could be plugged or the petcock is closed. Most people pretty much leave the petcocks open on these bikes because they are such a pain to open and close. When turning on the key do you hear the fuel pump cycle? It will generally cycle for a few seconds to fill the float bowls. If its hard to start and been sitting awhile or you don't know when the spark plugs have been changed. Do that first. Buy new plugs they are relatively cheap but make a world of difference in the starting woes of these bikes. By the way there are no dumb questions. There are alot of very knowledgeable people on this site that will go out of their way to help you. Check out the First Gen tech section on this site. AND:wel_ani4Tay:
  2. Nobody can ever call you chicken. I told the evil one you were leaving Wisconsin today on your bike. I told her get ready we're leaving Saturday. She just laughed and said "Yea right". Sounds like your making good time. Annie we'll trade some of this snow for a little heat anytime. Another foot predicted by tomorrow night. Hang in there, cooler days are coming.

    Why?

Why Annie, your pain means healing so hang in there and take another pain-healer. Why before you know it you'll be at that bike meet and basking in the Australian heat while we slowly wait for our turn in the sun.
  7. Only if you bake cookies!:rotfl: Congratulations:thumbsup2:
  8. Funny how that happens.

    Kilroy Cool

This afternoon Kilroy Cool was basking in the pond in the back yard. Shades were mandatory, so bright we were snow-blind without them.:rotfl:
  10. Never went to RC but play around with a old line steer Japanese Zero with the kids. Its a riot to watch'em start to stumble after a few minutes of round and round. We all so give the wind gods many, many rockets from time to time. I don't wanna grow up so I don't have to.

    WELL ???

Nice looking truck but you would be embarrassed when you moved it. It might tend to puddle where ever you parked it.:rotfl:

Why must winter be so long?

  14. Sounds like a life to be proud of. Thanks. And now I know the rest of the story. Loud pipes are a personal decision. Me, I like to hear them on someone else's bike. Really. I'm already deaf enough from too many years of countless hours driving tractors. The wifes other name ought sometimes to be "Huh". One thing though should be mandatory if your going to be running loud pipes. Its the smell of nitromethane. Yea, loud pipes and the smell of nitromethane. That gets your heart pumping!
  15. Cause I didn't try it. But i
  16. Shame on all you Fifel muderers!:rotfl:I use mothballs but their hard to catch and so darn small. Takes alot of them to keep Fifel out of the Venture Inn.:rotfl:

  20. And so starts and ends the epoxy 500. Time to resurface that track for sure. Sad commentary on our natl redneck sport to be stopped by a track malfunction. The auto industry is not only in the pits so are the tracks we race on. Did I hear the commentators say the track hadn't been resurfaced since 1978? If so wow.

    SNOW

All done with the dragon. Finished it up today. We ran out of daylight yesterday and couldn't put the finishing touches on it. He looks a little sad but I guess I'd be sad too if I was chained up. I'll save Calvin & Hobbs to do another day.
  22. Friend of mine had train horns mounted on top of his Ford Econoline van years ago. Long story short. He turns the corner as my back is turned about ready to open my car door. The sound waves were bouncing off my back and I almost fell down from my knees buckling. Thought I was a goner!:rotfl: We have a local man in our town that lives on the edge of Lake Erie that buys all kinds of sirens and whistles. Every now and then he will blow them off. A few years ago he bought a similar siren off of a building at Pittsburgh Pa. He had to have a crane company come to remove it from the roof. A very interesting fellow when you get to talk with him. He is very knowledgeable about all the various noisemakers he has and what their applications were for. I don't mind hearing his collection but I live miles from him. You have to have pity for his neighbors though.
  23. Beautiful day in the neighborhood. Thats gotta be like riding on marbles. Did ya goose it at least once?
  24. Congrats! Now the true meaning of Grandpa is "Second Chance". Enjoy. Feed'em full of candy and send them home! :rotfl: Thank your boy for his service from me will you. Sending a prayer for his safe return to spoil that new son of his.
  25. Thanks, there are definitely some old motorcycles there.
